Chapter 45: Chapter 45

“Don’t move,” I whispered to Luna as I put a bandage on her face. She didn’t move, and I was confused why she was smiling at me; I just ignored her. When I finished bandaging Luna’s face, I immediately smiled, “It’s over,” I said, then stood up.

“Can I sleep now, miss?” Luna asked. I know that she’s so tired from what happened, so I gently nodded that made her smile widened, “Thank you so much for treating my eyes, miss,” then she closed her eyes and then talked no more.

I took the water basin full of blood and the medical kit. When I turned around, I saw Brielle, “Thank you so much for helping Luna, miss. And how did you know such a thing? Like medical pieces of stuff and treating something like that?” Brielle asked in astonishment.

“I’m a nursing student, so I have some knowledge about treating people,” even though I haven’t had an official experience yet, at least I know something because of my passion for reading, and I am glad that I put it in used this time.

“Is it okay to stay here and sleep? We almost got killed by Sharmon earlier,” I see in Brielle’s face and voice the sense of fear. I stick the water basin to my stomach and immediately released one hand. I reached for her cheek and gently caressed it.

“I will watch outside. You and Luna need a rest, okay?”

“But how about you, miss? You also need a break about what happened,”

“I slept last night before this happened, and I know you didn’t sleep all night because of your work at Reign’s house. Don’t worry about me and sleep so you can gain energy,”

Brielle just nodded, “Thank you so much, miss. You’re so kind that’s why the master kept his eyes on you a long time ago,” she left those words before me, then she lay down next to Luna, who was sound asleep.

I sigh. My body is feeling weak, not because of sleepy but because of tiredness. I left the room carrying the water basin, and I almost release it from my hands due to shock.

“The boss wanted to see you,” my left brow raised with what the man said. I just noticed that they are wearing jackets. Same at the men in the ship earlier.

“In what reason?” the man did not answer and immediately turned away to start walking, “How are my companions? Can I make sure that they are safe when I leave them alone?” It did not look back but nodded. I didn’t speak and immediately followed him.

I was still holding the water basin. The man suddenly stopped and immediately turned to me, “You can leave that there,” then he pointed to the side where the wooden chair was. I immediately walked over to the chair and put what I was holding down.

Then the man walked again. I turned first and looked at the room where Luna and Brielle were sleeping before closing the door. I was out of the house. I hope they are okay until I got back. I let out a deep sigh and then walked before the man in front of me.

I don’t know what place I was currently in. When we got off the ship, we passed a lot of trees and at the end of it was a very spacious place with bamboo houses. Luna and Brielle were sleeping in one of those houses made with bamboo.

I don’t know how this place gets electricity. Maybe, everything works because of the provided generator. The man continued to walk until he stopped at the big house made of concrete. I haven’t noticed before, and this house in front of us was the only difference in this place. It was as if we were in a soldiers’ camp.

“Just come in. The boss is waiting,” the man said, then he suddenly leaves me out in front of the concrete house. If I didn’t know, I wasn’t on the island; indeed, the maids there at Reign’s home were like that too.

Even though I didn’t know what was waiting for me to enter this house, I took a deep breath and immediately walked to the entrance. I was about to enter, but I stopped and did not make any noise.

“But Uncle!”

“No buts, Sharmon. You almost killed that woman, and coincidentally, our plan will not be effective!”

“We’re still going to kill her at the end, aren’t we?”

“No. I have no plans to kill people, Sharmon. Stop your mania,”

“But he was taking Reign away from me! That woman takes away what belongs to me!”

“You’re crazy, Sharmon. The young master has never been in your hands,” I heard a loud sound, and I knew it was a slap. I don’t know who was slapped because I was still behind the door and couldn’t get in because of their argument.

“I hate you, Uncle!”

“Hate me but don’t try to hurt that woman, and you will be held accountable to me, not only to me but to Reign. You don’t know how ruthless the young master is. He will kill you using his hands,” I didn’t hear an answer from Sharmon, and I would have planned to listen to them, but I was surprised, “Stop eavesdropping from someone’s argument. Come inside,” the man said. I don’t know his name, but he was Sharmon’s uncle and the boss of this place.

I immediately grabbed the knob and opened the door. I saw Sharmon and her uncle facing each other. Sharmon suddenly turned to me. Her eyes were furious. She turned again to her uncle before walking towards me. When she was already beside me, Sharmon suddenly glared at me again.

“Watch yourself,” she said and immediately left. I followed Sharmon with my gaze. I’ve been watching at myself for a long time, and you don’t need to worry about me.

“Don’t mind her,” I looked back to the front. Sharmon’s uncle was staring at me, “That woman was spoiled. Everything she wants needs to be followed,” He said and smiled awkwardly. I was uncomfortable. Why is Shino acting friendly towards me?

“What do you need?” I asked directly.

“Come on first and sit down,” he said and immediately walked to the front; just now, I noticed that there were wooden chairs placed inside this concrete house. I didn’t hesitate because I knew he wouldn’t make something terrible based on what I heard earlier.

When I sat down, he also sat in front of me. I don’t know, but I didn’t feel any shivering and fear in him. Looking at his face, it is scary because it’s a bit wrinkled, and there’s a scar across his right eye.

I feel comfortable with him, but I wonder why he is here and his men are scared. No. I feel like people respect him here.

“I’m Shino,” my forehead furrowed as I looked at him, “I know that you’re wondering why you are here. I have no horrible intentions with you,” he added.

“Thn why did your men bring me this place?” Shino sigh and then take a deep breath.

“The young master will not talk to me, so you are the only way for him to go and talk to me,”

“Why are you so sure?”

“Because I know the young master,” I suddenly remembered what Thraia had said.

“Are you the former men of the old masters in that island?” I was a little shocked, and just now, I remembered what Thraia said before, “Are you the traitor who killed Reign’s uncle and grandparents?” I was confused when he shook his head.

I looked into his eyes as he stared at me. I don’t know, but Shino’s gray eyes are sincerely looking at me, “I’m not responsible for the killing that happened on the young master’s family. I didn’t kill someone and never planned to take the lives of people,”

“How about the taking of goods and females on the island? What is your purpose?” Shino shrugged. I don’t know why I’m talking to him. I am confused by the situation. Is this what Elliott is saying that Reign discovered something and that Shino is not responsible for losing their parents and grandparents?

“I just came back three years ago. When I found out that the young master had returned to the island, I came back here,” Shino still calls Reign as young master. I thought about what he said. Three years ago? Thraia is no longer here and has been saved by Reign, so Shino is not in charge of when Thraia was imprisoned and treated as a slave for five years.

“If you are back three years ago after Reign, then it means you were not in this place when Reign’s grandparents died and Elliott’s parents got poisoned?” Sino nodded without taking his eyes off me. I’m not sure, but I think he’s not the killer.

“If you’re not the one who killed them, then who’s responsible?” I asked, and I was left dumbfounded when Shino give me an answer.
