Chapter 44: Chapter 44

I felt the movement of the ship, indicating that it was departing from its current stand. I kept struggling to free my hands from the rope. It was already hurting, and I felt it would remove my skin, but I didn’t stop.

I looked at the two maids I was with. I was even in pain, and my heart became tender when I saw the blood kept flowing down from the eyes of the maid who got stabbed by Sharmon. As I gritted my teeth, I clenched my fists while the anger was building inside my body.

I’m not this kind of person, but when I get my hands out from being tied, I will let Sharmon experience what she did earlier, especially the feeling of being poisoned.

Even if I was in her hands, I am not afraid. I didn’t stop fidgeting with my hands and hoping that I could remove it, and I didn’t fail; all of a sudden, the rope tied on my back came to lose. A smile formed on my lips when I freed my hands.

Even though they were still in pain, I reached for my legs and removed the leash. Thankfully, it wasn’t too tight, and I immediately removed it. Suddenly, our ship sped up, and we were probably in the middle of the ocean.

I wasted no time and turned around to see if anyone was here, and no one was. Only now did I notice that we were in the back of the ship. I turned to the two maids and saw them looking at me. I approached and immediately removed the lids from their mouths.

“T-Thank you so much, miss,” the one with bloody eyes said. I adjusted the rope that I took from her mouth and looked at it. It wasn’t dirty, so I gently wiped her blood-soaked cheek.

“Don’t answer. Save your energy and don’t use force to somehow stop the flowing of blood out from your eyes,” she didn’t answer anymore and nodded gently. I turned to another maid who’s with us. She was trembling while looking at me, “Calm down, what is your name?” I asked.

“I-I’m B-Brielle, and she’s Luna,” she stuttered, but somehow, Brielle already calmed down.

“Okay. That’s good,” I turned my eyes on Luna. I can feel her body weakening, “Hey. You shouldn’t sleep. Not until your eyes got cleaned. Can you do that?” I asked while my voice is soft to give Luna comfort. She just nodded her head. I don’t know, but I immediately kissed Luna’s forehead.

I was about two years older than them, and because they were younger than me, it was as if I could see my sister in them. Russiana, my younger sister, is already eight years old.

I removed my lips out from Luna’s forehead, “Sorry, because of me, you two have to experience something terrible like this,” I said to the both of them. Luna suddenly grabbed my arm.

“It’s not your fault, miss,” Luna said with a weak voice.

“I told you not to talk,” I said and looked at her intensely.

“Luna is right, miss. You are not to blame for this happening. We’re sorry to also drag you in this, miss,” I just shrugged at Brielle.

“No one is to blame because we don’t want this to happen,” I take a look at Luna and then return to Brielle, “Can you hold this first to stop the blood from flowing into her ear?” I asked Brielle, and she nodded, “Thank you,” I stood up slowly to let Brielle take my position, “Don’t make any noise,” I said when she walked over to my seat.

“Where are you going to miss?” Brielle asked. She was already holding the clothes that pressed on Luna’s cheek. I just smiled at her.

“Stay here, don’t leave. I’ll come back after I found something that I can use to clean Luna’s bleeding eyes,”

“What if they will catch you?” I sense the worry in Brielle’s voice. I give her a smile to provide assurance.

“I can’t say that I won’t get caught, but it will be better than to do nothing,” I no longer waited for Brielle to answer, and I immediately walked away. I try to keep from making noise because I am stepping on wood.

When I got away from them, I turned my back. Fortunately, Brielle is doing what I said, so there’s nothing to worry about. I need to find hot water, and a clean basin as well as clothes. I know that there are no sanitary medicines that users can prevent possible infection inside this ship, but even lukewarm water is okay to keep Luna’s eyes out of being infected.

I didn’t know what part of the ship I was, and I could still feel its functionality. I turned right and immediately sat down and hid behind the barrels to see men ahead. They were talking while their back is turned from me. Fortunately, it’s a bit dark because I was bigger than my hiding place.

I turned around and felt relieved to see that there’s an open door beside me and a light coming out of it. I didn’t hesitate to enter even though I wasn’t sure if anyone was there or not.  When I got inside rolled my eyes. A sigh of relief came out of my mouth when the place was empty.

I looked up and saw a cabinet. I reached for it and opened the cupboard. Thank God because everything is coping up with me. There is a jug of water and a covered black water basin. I took the water basin and filled it halfway with water.

I was stunned when I felt the ship stopped from moving. This movement means we have already reached the place where Sharmon plans to take us. I calmed myself. I need to find hot water and clothes first.

I closed the jug and immediately put it back inside the cabinet and grabbed the water basin while lifting it before turning to go out, but because of the shock, I suddenly let go of what I was holding when I saw Sharmon standing in front of the door.

The water spilled and spread on the wooden floor. Sharmon was looking at me with a gritting eye. I couldn’t react because she suddenly pulled my hair out of the current room I was in. She aggressively let go of my hair, causing my body to hit the barrels behind me.

My anger suddenly hit the top of my body, and even though I could not bear the pain, I ignored it and stood up to scratch her. Even though I didn’t know what I was trying to do, I countlessly slapped Sharmon in the face.

Sharmon struggled and immediately punched me in the stomach. I just screamed in pain and stopped slapping her. I don’t know why she’s so strong. She is a woman, but why does she seem to know such things as this and her force? It’s like she’s been going to regular training.

Sharmon approached me and immediately placed both her hands on my neck. She’s choking me. I grabbed her hands tightly around my neck to remove it, but Sharmon’s grip was too tight, and I was out of breath.

Suddenly, Sharmon’s eyes glazed over at me, “You must be the one I stabbed earlier and not that lowly maids! I should have snatched your two eyes and throw them into the ocean. You have lots of guts, aye? I should have killed you!” I don’t know, but I even managed to laugh at her.

“Your face is full of hatred and envy without a trace of love,” I said, ignoring the difference in my voice. Sharmon suddenly tightened her grip on my neck. I cough because my body is losing air.

“That’s enough, Sharmon,” with that voice, Sharmon immediately let go of my neck. I sat down on the wooden floor while catching my breath. I almost lost my life!

“U-Uncle,” Sharmon’s voice was trembling. When I recovered from my breathing, I immediately looked up to see the person who gave such a tremendous feeling to the wicked Sharmon.

I was surprised to see a man who has the same as Letty’s age. He was wearing a long black coat while holding a cane. The man suddenly brought his face closer to mine, and I can see the big scar across his right eye.

“So you are the young master’s woman?” I don’t know what he was talking about. He looked away from me and adjusted his stance, “Welcome to the hands of your man’s enemy,” I could not understand what he was saying.

“Boss,” I turned around and saw the two men who had just arrived, “Jaccobich finds out that his house has been entered and that this woman is missing. They are on the move now,”

The man with a scar on his face suddenly grinned, “Prepare the men because it will not be long, the young master will come here to rush and bring chaos inside this place,” he suddenly turned to me, “And you woman will be my ultimate weapon on defeating the young master,”

I don’t know what he was talking about, but if he was this island taker’s boss, doesn’t mean he knows something about Elliott and Reign’s grandparent’s death?
