Just like Alpha Greyson said, I have tidied up my room. Today I wore a simple dress. Kylie and Rose assisted me in fixing my hair. My hair is now up, with a strand falling on both sides of my face.

Because the Alpha king is said to have already eaten, I had breakfast in my room. I can't stop wondering where we're going now. Our wedding is tomorrow, so the entire palace staff will be extremely busy.

The guards took me to Alpha Greyson's office after I finished getting ready. When I walked in, I was immediately nervous.

"I want us alone," Alpha Greyson said as soon as he noticed Kylie and Rose behind me. I became even tenser. Will we then be left alone here?

"Yes, your Majesty," Rose and Kylie replied politely. When we have left alone, silence enveloped us. I remained seated in front of him on the couch. When he stood up and placed a book in front of me, my heart beat faster. I fixed my gaze on the book he had placed on the table.

It has a unique cover. There is no title written there, but I can see the crown on the book's cover.

"You know how to read, right?" he asked coldly. I nodded quickly.

"I'd like you to read that." He ordered.

I took the book and began reading on the first page. When I saw how many words were in it, I blinked. When you first look at it, you'll realize you won't be able to read it in one sitting!

"Do I have to finish it all today?" I ask. Alpha Greyson and I exchanged glances. He cocked his brow at me. When I remembered my dream from earlier, I blinked twice. Eyes that are blue... I know that blue eyes are common in the North Snow kingdom, so why am I trembling so much when it comes to his?

"Are you stupid? I only want you to read the first storyline, not the entire book," Alpha Greyson said. I scoffed and nodded. Why is he always irritated when he speaks to me? Is he truly disgusted by my presence?

I inhaled deeply and began reading the first page. Alpha Greyson's eyes were fixed on me as I read. But it was difficult. His eyes are affecting me so much that I am unable to concentrate, but I must do my best!

The first storyline revolves around an Alpha king marrying his mate. His mate was a human. But a lot happened between the two, eventually leading to conflict between the humans and the wolves. The Alpha king's memories were erased due to an accident. The Luna was already expecting their child. The Alpha king's condition was dangerous, which is why Luna chose to lie about his true condition, fearing that if he told the truth, his amnesia would worsen.

However, the Alpha king remembers everything, and Luna became his Queen.

I wiped my eyes after reading the story.

"What are you crying for?" Alpha Greyson, who was watching me, inquired.

"It was a sad story, but it was... overwhelming," I said.

"I didn't give it to you because I wanted you to sympathize with their love story," Alpha Greyson hissed. I fixed my gaze on him. So why did he force me to read it?

"Then... why did you give it to me?" I puzzledly inquired.

"I let you read that because I want you to study how the Luna rules," he explained. I made a blink. So he's helping me study my position when I marry him tomorrow? Is he now assisting me?

"The Luna here didn't do much in her reigning—"

"That's exactly what I want you to do, Amara," he cut me off. What exactly does he mean?

"You're only here to fill that position because a kingdom needs a queen, not because it's powerless without the Luna, but because... the kingdom needs an heir," he stunned me.

Then he's not helping me! At this point he wants me to understand what my role is in this palace, which gave him an heir. I balled my fist because he always makes me feel so worthless and small.

"Do you understand what I'm saying?" he asked authoritatively. It reminds me of myself. How many times will I remain silent? I'd like to speak up as well!

"Am I then just a tool to you, your Majesty?" I can't stop talking. His expression became expressionless. I was nervous, but I tried not to show it.

"I told you... that's all I could give you," he explained. My eyes welled up with tears. Why is he so cruel and yet so truthful?

"Now that you know what your role is, you can go back to your room and—"

"I am... not just a tool," I declared confidently. I raised my eyes to him. I sat up when I noticed his sharp eyes on me.

"I may be a woman without riches, but I still have my dignity; that doesn't mean you can make a fool of me... no... maybe I was a fool... because I was foolishly in love with you! But... I can't stay in love with you when you treat me like this!" I said bravely.

When I saw his blank expression, my heart sank; how could he be so cold after I confessed to him!?

I was taken aback when he approached me slowly. My heart beat faster as he moved closer to me.

He knelt to make our eyes line up. I backed up slightly, but he quickly wrapped his arm around my waist and drew me closer to him! I was so nervous that I tried to break free from his grip, but his grip was too strong. I can't stand up to him!

I avoided looking at him because his eyes are too intense for me.

"Then... what do you want? Should I love you back?" he asked, bringing my brows together. "Or maybe...  You only want our marriage so you can rule this kingdom? Is that what you're looking for?"  His tone was accusatory. My heart sank.  How could he think like that?! I've never ventured into ruling this kingdom!

"I'm not even interested in this marriage..."

"Do you think I'll believe you after you confess to me?" he whispered mockingly.

"I admit it, Amara, you're smart, but this kingdom is mine..." he murmured.

His words made my heart bleed even more. Is he under the impression that by speaking up and opposing him now, I intend to take over the kingdom? No! I'm not interested! Damn! How could he... think like this?!

"Be ready for tomorrow. Go back to your room now," he said as he let me go, I clenched my jaw and marched out of his office. How can I prove to him that I have no intention of usurping the kingdom from him? I know there are many such scenarios in other kingdoms where the queen commits a crime in order to usurp the throne from the Alpha king.

But I'm not going to do it!

All I want is to find Shena... That's all there is to it. I closed my eyes tightly and comforted myself inside my room.
