Chapter 12: Chapter 12

"Fuck!" yelled Alpha Greyson angrily. We all took a look at their sides, and it was amazing how quickly Alpha Greyson removed his vest and clothes! When I saw his masculine and very manly upper extremities, my jaw dropped. He has an extremely detailed body that any woman would kill to touch! Damn it! I shouldn’t be thinking about this!

When I saw how the guards held Joan while she cried for forgiveness, I stopped staring at Alpha Greyson's body.

"Please forgive me, Your Majesty! It will not happen again! Please spare my life and forgive me!" Joan begged as the palace guards held her tightly. I was startled by the coldness seen in Alpha Greyson's eyes.

I feel that he is very far away from me. Only now did I truly realize how different he was from the person I thought he was. I just realized that I knew him wrong. Alpha Greyson stepped towards Joan and gripped her jaw tightly. Joan winced and cried.

"Amara... Bow your head! You shouldn't be seeing this! " Yna said by my side, but my gaze was fixed on what Alpha Greyson was doing.

"Forgive you?" Alpha Greyson inquired, pressing harder on Joan's jaw. I bit my lower lip. This can't be right. It was just a simple coffee, and Joan is experiencing this?

"Tell me why I killed the criminals while they begged for forgiveness," Alpha Greyson inquired. Joan sobbed even more.

"Answer!" exclaimed Alpha Greyson. My fist clenched. Joan's tears streamed down her cheeks.

I remembered myself when I watched Shena be taken from me. Something pinched my heart at that memory.

"Because they...have sinned against the kingdom and...in you, your Majesty," Joan replied. I clenched my teeth. I gradually lost my admiration for the Alpha king and was replaced by annoyance and anger toward him, as well as pity for Joan.

"And what do you think you did to me, you piece of trash?" Alpha Greyson snarled. "I-I...have sinned with you...your Majesty," Joan cried out.

I was just surprised when he threw Joan like trash. Joan winced in pain. She hit the floor right in front of me. I couldn't resist reaching out to Joan and helping her through her pain.

"Amara! Don't help her!” I heard Gina, but it didn't stop me from taking out my handkerchief and wiping Joan's tears.

"Who said you could help her?" said Alpha Greyson angrily. I clenched my teeth. I'm not sure what will happen to me, but I'm not going to stand by and watch someone suffer because of people who believe they are God and all-powerful.

I stood up and bravely faced Alpha Greyson. The moment my eyes stopped meeting his, I felt something leap in my chest, but I tried to ignore it. I saw how the guards stared at me for a long time. It seems they are just waiting for an order to arrest me too. Alpha Greyson's eyes stared at my eyes for a long time. I don't know what he saw in my eyes, but I saw that he was a bit stunned. That's a reaction from people who are also wondering about the color of my eyes since I'm from the North Snow Kingdom.

I bowed my head to him before returning my gaze. "My name is Amara, and as a fellow housekeeper of this woman, I'd like to ask your Majesty…does a coffee worth your people's tears and pain when all she wants is to please your Majesty?” I spoke.

Alpha Greyson's cold eyes locked on my face as if he was checking all the corners of my face, planning and imagining how he'd rip me apart.

"Who told you to talk to me that way?" he inquired coldly. I bow down and clasp my hands behind my back tightly, knowing that this is my last day in this palace. It's just a shame I won't be able to save you Shena.

"Even a dog...can't stand still when another dog is being harmed by others..."

"Are you saying I'm that "other"?" he asked, closing the gap between us. I stood silently to look away.

"I am the Alpha King...and if she makes mistakes in minor matters, what about major ones? It is better to be early as long as her sin has not increased. So, who are you to lecture me, you little wench?" I can feel his annoyance, but I maintain my dignity and resolve.

"An Alpha king rules over our kingdom, and his kingdom is his people, who worship him. It is his priority to protect his people and his beloved kingdom as they prostrate at his feet. The purpose of His Majesty's loyal subjects is to serve him with sincere honesty, and the Alpha King's purpose is to...promise them security and safety and not punish them by law just because of a mere accident," I stated boldly.

"Amara!" I was taken aback when I heard Mrs. Clea's voice. I looked at Alpha Greyson and noticed his coldness. Gina was correct; you could feel his rage but his eyes remained blank. I was taken aback when Mrs. Clea knelt in front of Alpha Greyson.

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty, for the audacity of my housekeepers; I'm willing to give my life in exchange for your forgiveness!" my eyes widen at Mrs. Clea's words.

"Mrs. Clea!" I called out and approached her to stop her. No! She can't say that!

"Mrs. Clea—"

"Stop it, Amara! Do you realize how unforgiving you are to his majesty?!" she yelled angrily. I was taken aback by what she said because I knew she was correct. Alpha Greyson caught my gaze as I bit my lower lip. He was staring at me. I'm not sure why he just made me stand there and watch when he could have ordered his men to apprehend and punish me. He was just staring at me, waiting for my next move.

I took a deep breath and knelt in front of him, against my will, to request a call.

"Please forgive me, your Majesty. My words are meaningless because they come from an ignorant and uneducated woman.” Damn it! I had no idea it was so difficult to ask for forgiveness!

There was silence when Alpha Greyson bent down, and I was just surprised when he held my chin to look into his eyes. The moment he touched me, something went through my body that I couldn't explain, and I never imagined myself getting this close to him.

"I am not a forgiving person…" he said quietly, his eyes fixed on me. When I smelled his breath, I swallowed hard. It smelled like cold air with a hint of mint. “But it costs a lot when I forgive..." his lips moved closer to my ears. I almost passed out!

"So, now...you're indebted to me," he said quietly as he stood up and walked out of the dining room.

"We will not capture them, your Majesty?" a guard asked. Alpha Greyson came to a sudden standstill, and for the first time in my life...I noticed him smirking evilly.

"No, they are forgiven,” said Alpha Greyson, making Yna and Gina shriek with delight while I was filled with dread thinking about my next few days in this palace.
