Chapter 27: Chapter 27

**Cassie’s Pov**

We all gathered at the center of our pack community. The witch, Letitia, was left to do her ritual. Burning herbs and materials create a weird blue smoke from the fire.

It looks terrifyingly amazing. How the smoke slowly scattered in the air and established a transparent barrier slowly fading away.

Letitia almost ended up falling to the ground, but her mate caught him fast. We immediately went to their side.

"Is she okay?" I asked with a hint of concern in my tone.

The alpha of Ceron Pack nodded with his usual emotionless expression. Sometimes I think about how to handle this monotonous type of leader like him.

"She is just fine." "My mate used lots of mana because of the length of your territory," he aforementioned.

"Rea, lead them again to the villa and let them rest. Assist them as much as you can with what they need," Kaiden commanded.

"Yes, alpha." The servant slightly vowed to face this fearsome guest of ours. "This way, please."

Looking at the barrier, it is safe to say that it is a relief for me to know that at least we are safe for now.

This barrier will help us stand against that devious piece monster. At least I know that we can withstand their power for now, but until when?

I shook my head and stopped this negative thought. It will never help us with this kind of mindset.

I walk to the side of my mate and lean on his frame. We sighed in relief as we saw that some of our people had a smile on their faces.

We are losing this battle. Some people make sacrifices to maintain what we have right now. It is not easy to smile in the middle of this crisis.

But as the Luna of this pack, I believe that this will be the start of our building process.

"This is just the start," Kaiden muttered with satisfaction on his face.

I imagine the face of his brother, Aron. There is still no evidence yet, but I will assure you that he is the traitor. He has every reason to loathe his brother.

When jealousy is a fire that will burn all personal desires and turn them into the walking corpse of a blind monster, destroying everything for the sake of their ambition,

We need to get back inside, but I remember that this is the first night of spring. Some of the pack warriors and people will go on the hunting ground.

But because of the existing threat, it is mandated that every hunter have a warrior to assure their safety. We invested in learning how to send signals if there are enemies.

We were informed that rogues have a way of blocking the echo of our growl. A magic stone that blocks any sound in the mountain forest; that is why we cannot respond to any help.

The sign of them being smart is also a sign that they are getting help outside. That is terrifying indeed.

"Kaiden, when I said that you should be safe and you have to go home without any single scratch, I am not kidding. I am serious because if something happens to you, you and your big little things will have their rest for eternity. As in, no mating, just celibacy," I threatened him.

I saw how he gulped so hard and wiped the sweat on his forehead. I hope that threat is enough to force him to become more careful.

"Mating should be put off this argument; you know that is my weakness!" He tried to make me fall into his pity, but no.

I shook my head in disagreement and gave him a smirk. "I want you home without a scratch; no more argument."

I left him dumbfounded and smiled upon looking at the sky turning dark. It is a full moon now, and the stars look bright and happy. There's no more danger for now. At least for now.

I ended up going home alone. I know that someone is stalking me, and it seems foolish to spy on me. After all, I am a werewolf with a strong sense of smell.

"Show yourself," I said with greeted teeth.

My eyes change their color into a bluish one with an iris that looks monstrous.

I am ready to fight this ambush. But I saw that it was a man coming from the pack of Alpha Red and Luna Letitia.

"I did not intend to create any mess. I just want to talk to you, Luna of the Blue Moon Pack," he said.

"Who are you, by the way?" I asked him first.

He slightly bows his head. "My name is Renton Dustin; I am Alpha Red's younger brother." I nodded in response. I can see that they are indeed like a carbon copy, just that this man looks younger.

"And what do you need? Is it not rude for someone to talk? Advice: do not walk on the same path as mine like you are stalking me; even though you do not intend any harm, it might be marked as a threat as well. We are all werewolves here, but some have a spirit of fox, sly in personality per se."

He nodded. "I understood, Luna. I just want to ask for a favor," he manages to say.

"And what is that?" I asked him back.

"Can I look at your palm?" I was left dumbfounded by his request. Is he joking?

"Ahm, what?" Maybe I heard the wrong thing.

"I am asking if I can see your palm. I have an ancient power, but it is not powerful enough compared to our ancestors, who are dragons, by the way. My ability is seeing the stronger path of a living thing."

So the rumor is real? Alpha Red's younger brother has the power to see the thread of destiny.

Destiny is not omnipotent; it can be compared to a roadway with lots of paths, and depending on a certain action, everything can change again accordingly.

"Do as you wish, but why so?"
