Chapter 51: Chapter 51

• • • Eve's POV • • •

It wasn't easy to convince Maryline to allow me to eat dinner in my room for the second time however, I succeed and last night again she allowed me.

Yesterday, Matilda did show up as promised and the whole day was a mess. If only boredom could kill I would have been dead by now. I would have gone in search of her but I have no idea about where she stays.

I wake up very early this morning before the first cockcrow helplessly rolling in bed Just thinking about my monotonous day and this makes me sick. I'm damn tired of sleeping all day I need to explore. Next time I will follow Adams in the human world and there at least I have freedom.

"Eve, it's morning." Maryline happily barges into my room with a broad morning smile unlike me who is furious about everything this morning.

She opens the window blinds then she moves back to bed and pulls me out. "Why all this protocol when I'm the only one in this palace as if it isn't annoying enough, after all this I will eat and remain lock in my room all day?" I frown but does she care.

"No one is forcing you to remain locked in your room, you can stroll in the compound... etc" she seriously retorts. "Seriously?!" I roll my eyes in defeatt. I give up.

"This is the price of being a member of royalty family and trust me, little girl, your life is better than that of many." she nods her head.

"Perhaps you are right, yet I don't think those people you claim am better than are this bored. See, the four corners of this palace is suffocating me. I need more action in my life."

"Like the one you had in the Aqua kingdom?. Didn't bother more action is coming. I just pray you survive this time." she murmurs with compassion.

"I don't mean that!" I frown flinging her hands off my dress "It's fine I can take care of myself." then I continue undressing without her help then I enter the wooden bathing bowl.

"I see you don't need me here anymore. Meet me in the living room for your breakfast as soon as you are done." with this said she moves away. I remain in the bowl for a very long time than usual think on how I can improve my life.

Later, I move out of the bowl to dress. Once I'm done dressing, I seat on the bed. Unexpectedly, a Flashback of Adams and I on our first night together popped up in my mind and I begin to feel weird as my tits get firm.

"Eve, I've been waiting for you in the dinning." Maryline's voice breaks into my deepest thoughts and I frown. "I won't eat on that lonely dinning table. I better eat with slaves." I scold.

"I'm sorry but you have to. I understand your frustration Eve but you need to be strong enough. This!" she points around "Is your life, your reality and you have to leave with it. Find a way to enjoy it, not randomly though but with elegance." she rubs her hands then she lifts them to me saying "Follow me."

At this very point I have no choice but to follow her. She takes me to the dining. The sad look on my face is swept with a broad smile as I see Matilda seated at the dining. It gives me some goosebumps.

"I'm mad at you. Why didn't you show up yesterday as promised." I hit her shoulder pouting. "I couldn't..." she pulls her word with her stare fixed at Maryline. Maryline notices our stares fixed on her and she moves away.

"I reached home late after the run and my mum was furious so she punishment me with some chores which took my day. The good thing is that she travelled this morning and my father comes back home really late so I'm free."

"I'm so sorry about that. Since when are you here?" I gaily seat next to her. "I just arrived and Maryline asked me to wait here and trust me there was no way I could say no, especially after seeing all this food." she gets silly as she stares at the food well served on the table.

"Girl,,, is all this food just for you? Or are you having a private party?." she marvel then she frowns "And you didn't even bother to invite me." I simply laugh at her silly words.

"What matters is that you are here now, so feel free, please yourself." I nod. "Okay if you insist!" she murmurs then she starts dishing her plate with nearly everything found on the table. Finally, she fills her cup with fruit juice a speciality of Maryline and she starts eating.

"Girl, we have all day, no one is rushing you so slow down before you choke" I advise. "Whatever!" she retorts with her mouth full and this makes me laugh seriously.

"Matilda, I have been thinking about what you told me the other days and I'm ready for it. I will start with the door to door presentation today. I can parcel some of this food as little presences."

"No girl it's a very bad idea. I had a rethink over all what I told you and I realised it was foolish, I spoke without thinking. All those people out there hate women in or with power. It's better you stay low-key, - make a few speeches at top of your tower." she says while busily eating her food.

Her careless words hit my ego. I remain quiet spotting her with a deathly stare. So deathly that she senses it "Nothing personal." she acts in surprise as she jerks her head to face me.

"That was rude! However, I won't mind because I'm going to prove you wrong. I'm sure the villagers will support me. I'm going to start today and you will follow me. We will start with the nearest village." I pour out some of the juice into a cup and I sip thoughtfully.

"Are you following me or not?" I ask. "Of course!" she smiles.

Matilda knows this is a very bad idea so she starts cursing herself for always speaking without thinking. Now Eve has taken everything so personal and Matilda doesn't want to disprove her in fear to appear as a bad friend. She drinks all the juice in a gulp then she takes a deep breath with her stare fixed at Eve.

"How are we going to leave the palace?" Matilda asks "I hope you understand the implications of what we are about to do? And I hope you know that we can't present ourselves at people's door without the palace guards. If no one will believe us and I don't even want to imagine what some might do to us."

"I know! You think I'm this foolish not to consider all this. I'm thinking about a plan and seriously think you should do the same." I pout. She doesn't believe in it. I don't blame her but I'm going to prove her wrong.

I get up from the chair. "Where are you going to?" she asks. "Wait for me here I'm coming." with this said I move away.

I reach the Kitchen and I found Maryline seated. I speak fast before she can offer a word. "Please before you say no listen to me." she nods impertinently waiting to hear what I'm about to say.

"Please, I want to walk around the nearest village and know my kingdom. Which type of a queen am I. Indeed, I can't know everywhere in one day but I have had to start somewhere. Please, let me fly with my winds you won't always be around to protect me. I will go with a few guards of this will reassure you." I twist my face crying.

"Eve!" she takes a quick breath "Ok, you will go with five guards not too far. Edmonton won't forgive me if any happens to you talkless of Adams and his dad. So please don't do anything stupid in case of any ambuscade you hide and run back to the palace." she perks me on my forehead.

"Go and continue eating while I discuss with the guards," Maryline says. "Please one last thing."

"Good ahead Eve." "We need to find time and tell all the guards of this palace who I am. Some of them don't know me and it's very risky for me. I'm their Queen and they have to swear their allegiance to me."

"I understand your point. I will organise a small something with all the guards and luckily I heard Sir Rocky is back so your dad's army is complete making this the best time. I just have to discuss all this with Edmonton. You know I'm just a maid and everything politics Edmonton deals with it."

"Thank you very much." I hug her and I leave immediately. Matilda is done eating this is when I start eating. "Where were you?" she asks I simply smile and I continue eating.
