•     • • Adams' POV • •    •

"The earlier we get there the better for us. I want to be done with all this once and for all." I say eagerly. It's been a long time since I had a good fight. I hope my adversary is worth my time.

"Good son!. I know I don't have to say this but let me remind you of what's at stake; if you lose the duel, we lose this Kingdom, and you know the after effect. Still, I know you won't lose it, so make sure you enjoy yourself atleast." Dad slurs King Williams as usual.

I have no problem with King Williams or his son. All I want is to take Eve home with me and have our wedding. A wedding which didn't please me at first, but now, I want it more than ever. I'm fine with the idea of being a husband, now.

"It's time to leave." I announce, we all mount our horses heading to the palace for the final combat.

•     • • Eve's POV • •    •

I could barely sleep all night, hoping Elgin will get up at some point like the last time. I constantly checked on her during the night in vain. Elgin spent the hold night at sleep without any movement. I started giving up when it was morning already.

The lady-in-waiting barges into the room, she offs the candles and opens the blinds, as usual, the morning sun rays lightens the room.

"Good morning my lady, it's time for your morning routines." then she moves to me with a smile. She seems not affected by Elgin's state. I simply followed her and she takes care of me without saying a word.

After that I move to the big hall for breakfast. At the king's dining table without his daughter by my side is awkward. When Elgin is around, there's joy. When she was around, I felt welcome and comfortable unlike now. This hits different and I kind of feel embarrassed. I would have loved to have my breakfast in the room by Elgin today.

"How is Elgin?" the king ask as soon as he sits on the table. No response is given,"Still nothing." I lower my head in dismay as I helplessly redirect my gaze downward, placing my hands on the table.

"Don't be sad," Kidron whispers to me as he slightly caresses my hand. I simply nod at him, faking a smile. After eating, Kidron and I move to the compound.

We start discussing about everything; last night date and how he's eager to fight and win, etc.. We're facing each other and laughing when Adams enters the gate with his father, Edmonton and a few other men.

Our discussion is deep, our laughter portrayed it's intensity, such that, we didn't notice that a group of men entered the Palace. It takes us a few minutes to realise that something is happening, yet we don't want to deflect our stares.

"Can I share in this sweet moment?" Adams walks to us jealously. "Adam!" I call his name shuddering in surprise and I hug him to cover up my guilty face. "I wasn't expecting you so soon."

"I wasn't expecting to see you laughing with him either." Adam whispers to me then he path off my hug. He stands up straight with an air of superiority fixed on Kidron "I'm happy to see you, Prince...?" Adam searches for his name and it sounds sarcastic.

"Prince, Kidron!" I end the sentence for him. "Oh, my bad!. Prince Kidron. I'm prince..."

"I know who you are,- Prince Adams. I'm happy to see you again." Kidron interrupts his speech. With that being said, he turns to me "I hope I will have the chance to tell you, goodbye." Kidron gives me a gentle perk on the hand "I hope so too." I blush and he leaves immediately.

"What audacity!" Adams murmurs. "Adams... He's just being nice." I pull my words. "Being nice by flirting with my fiancee at my face?" he frowns. He's lucky that he's a prince and I'm in his kingdom with no defence if not I would have killed him... Oh, guess what? I will kill him very soon."

"Don't be silly. Why will you kill him, is it because you love me or it's simply because of your stupid masculine ego?" I utter in disdain because I know how men cherish their virility, sheepishly.

"I love when you get this nasty." he kisses my lips and it's weird. It's not that I don't like it, but it's strange because he hardly kisses me especially in public. I guess it's his way of bartering his territory.

"And I hate when you don't take me seriously, like you are doing now." I flinch off his kiss taking visible steps away. He follows me "Okay, fine!. It's not just about my ego!" he says.

I stop walking and I smile then I turn to him with a serious face "What is it about then?. Say what it's about, I want to hear you say it?" I scowl.

He wants to open his mouth, yet he hesitates. "My Prince you are being waited for in the throne room." A maid interrupts us and I feel like killing her.

"I have to leave, Eve." he perks me on the forehead. "Say it before you leave." I exclaim yet he still leaves without saying a word. My shoulders slumps helplessly. I just want him to tell me the three magical words, is this too much to ask for?.

I move back to the room to check on Elgin.

"Everything is set and it's simply waiting for you. The duel will take place in the big compound of the palace in the open air. I hope this is okay with you?" King William asks Adams and his people.

"It's ok!" King Demons smile malevolently.

"Okay get ready for the duel, it starts 30 minutes from now." the king announces and he leaves the hall immediately, his son follows him.

After 30minutes, everyone moves to the compound. It's crowded with maids, a few guards, a few civils who were permitted to enter the palace, and the royal families. They all surround part of the tiny planks ring while the royal families are seated on a specific side.

The two men enter the ring with swords. "Start!" the king declares.

They draw their swords. The sound of the sword clinching is loud. They try to give each other a hit, but their swordsmanship is spectacular, it's like two equal beasts fighting.

Watching the struggle between these two, one can see the majesty in their fighting, each strike well demarketed and delivered.

After serial trials, Kidron manages to scratch Adams, who stumbles but doesn't fall. With the pains, he still wields and threw Kidron on the ground away from his sword.

Kidron gets up, partially shifted in his wolf and rush to Adams who also partially shifts into his wolf and the fight continues...

It is a fierce battle, blows flying from every corner, it gets more intense as they get angrier. Their faces and their bodies are all messed up, bruises and swollen with blows. They look exhausted and uncomfortable with the pain from their injuries.

It's hurtful for me to see them them in this state.

Eventually, Adams can sustain his blows as kidron drops to the ground helplessly, unable to move. Adam drags his heavy body to terminate Kidron.

He picks his sword from the ground slowly and looks at Kidron with a nasty smile of victory "Sorry about this, but rules are rules." exhausted he lift up the sword to deliver the masterpiece.

This takes my breath away...

"Stopp! Stop" I run into the ring "Please, Adams, don't do this." I cry. "Why won't I?. I told you I was going to kill him and now it's the time." Adams says.

"Don't, if you do this, you will regret it later. And more to that, he has nothing to do with this confusion. It's King Williams and your father's fight. Please, don't kill an innocent."

"Why will I regret killing him?. I don't know him, he's nobody to me. He's just collateral damage like we all. Eve, - what is going on here?. Do you desire him?" he smirks. He looks exhausted.

"I'm sorry, Eve!" He lifts the sword and rush it down to Kidron neck without any pity. "No!. Adams Kidron is your brother!" I cry but it seems it's too late already. Tears helplessly rush down my cheeks.

"What!" Adams pins the sword on the bare ground, so close to Kidron's neck. This was a close one, his swiftness is something beyond the scope. I immediately wipe my tears away.

"It's a lie son. Don't listen to them." King Demons shouts as he rush to the ring with King Williams following him. "Your mother died with her baby in her room. I was there I saw it." King Demons insists.

"You mean when you cold-bloodedly pierced her to death with the baby in her stomach?. Demons you were not a witness, you were the murderer who killed her with no mercy like the monster that you are." King Williams explains with so much disdain for Demons.

"Dad, - is this,- true?" Kidron murmurs from the ground in a very low tone. "Dad so you killed mum?. OMG!" Adams seats on the ground helplessly.

The King takes a deep breath, "Eve is right!. Kidron, Adams is your biological brother and I'm sorry you both had to discover it this way." king William confirms and Adam trips the score as he helplessly lays on the ground, he's body is on fire.

"Don't be stupid Adams, how can you believe them?. Kill him and let's have this victory once and for all. Kill him, Adams! This is an order from your king." King Demons rapidly removes the sword from the ground and he rushes to press it in Kidron's neck but guards halts him just when he's so close.

"Shit!" he drops the sword "No one should dare touch me." King Demons warns the guards.

"Carry them in and take care of them before they die." the King orders. Guards, maids rush them in immediately to take care of them.

The crowd is disappointing, they need a winner. So they scream to claim Justice. "The rule is clear, one must die!" they yell with their arms up and their fists pointing to the sky. They have no idea of all the discussions going on.

"I don't know what you are up to, but you will surely pay for this." King Demons bitterly murmurs into my ears before he leaves. This gives me a cold freeze down my spine, his voice was terrific.

"Thank you for saving my son's life today, still this doesn't cancel our latest deal. Which is to eliminate Demons, I hope you remember." As if it wasn't enough, King William whispers into my ears with no shiver and he leaves as well.

"Shitt!" I scream, my heart is heavy. Then I rush to check on Elgin in vain. I later go to check on Adams who is fine and well taken care of in the same room with Kidron who is deep asleep.

"You were about telling me something a few hours ago in the compound before we were being interrupted." I whisper. Adams gives a brief smile, which snatches his serious countenance.

"I don't remember," he fibs "I know, you do. Still, I will repeat my question. Were you..." "It's fine." he cuts off my speech. "You don't have to repeat your question, Eve. I will always fight for you, because I love you." Did he just say the magical words?!.

OMG, my heart skips and wants to pop out, but I maintain my calm as he caresses my hair and I shut his mouth with a passionate kiss.

"And for my ego as well. I'm a man remember!" He adds sarcastically and we both laugh.

"I can't wait to be home" I murmur.
