"Now you all should leave before I change my mind and decide to instead deliver your corpse to him." King Demons screams.

In fear, the emissaries Immediately turn to leave, panicking. "You all should wait!." I scream and they turn back at the sound of my voice. I take a step toward them "Give me a minute, and I will get back to you."

Then I turn back "Dad can we discuss in private?. Edmonton follow us." I rule taking a few steps away from the emissaries, to where they can't hear me.

"I will make this short, dad. We are here, sorry- I mean I am here for Eve and I'm going to negotiate for her safety. If you don't like the idea, all the warriors of the Solis kingdom will back down, and I will restrain from your plan. We can as well allow you here with your men so that you can finally, have your damn revenge. Trust me - dad, if this happens, forget that you have a son called Adam... Edmonton are you with me?" I decipher with repulsion.

"Of course Adam, I agree with you. Our main aim here is Eve."  Edmonton gaily retorts. "So Dad, you have no choice we're two against one." I add.

"Don't be silly, it's not like Edmonton's point of view matters to me. Right now it's one against one, keep this in mind. Okay,- I give you the permit to negotiate, only this time around. If he flinches even just for a second, we attack. Make sure our men are ready for any eventual attack" with lots of hesitation the king finally changes his mind.

"Good." I give him a quick gentle tap on the shoulder, quickly heading to the men waiting for me.

"Tell your king that we're ready to negotiate but on one condition. I want to see the princess. I want to be sure that she is alive and well taken care of. Go and tell that to your king."

"Noted." The men turn back, mounted their horses and raced until thei disappeared into the forest.

"You took the wrong decision son." the king whispers into my ears then he moves away. "You did well." Edmonton moves to me. "I hope so." I walk out of him. I need no distraction I have to think clearly

It's been a while since I took such a warm and quiet bath and put on such comfortable clothes. It's as if I was abandoned on the streets for several years and has later been found by a wealthy family. Hahaha...

I'm led to the table by a smiling maid, she has been friendly all through, contrary to others who have been gossiping behind my back as if I wasn't present.

"You can sit by me." Elgin gaily waves and the maids take me to her, placing me on a seat next to hers.

Kidron is speechless as Eve gracefully enters the room. His breath is held for a moment, he's flabbergasted by her beauty. Earlier, he visualized this beauty when he visited her in the cage, however, it is far from what he's discovering right now. His eyes pop out like a lollipop, his mouth open as if it has no the intention of closing.

"My Princess, I think we started on a wrong foot. I was a little too hard on you." the king gaily welcomes me with his arms wide open to the sky.

"You think." I simply smirk... Then I pick the fastest slice of chicken from the table and I start eating like the world in coming to an end.

"We can start eating." the king says. I was already eating like the starving animal that I am, with all my senses concentrated on the food.

Kidron holds himself not to burst into laughter, how I'm eating is indeed ridiculous. My hair fall around the plate covering my face, I quickly push them at the back of my ears without hesitating. While the king and his family eat with style.

"I sent my spokesmen to your King." the king said. Kidron nearly chock at the sound of his fathers voice "Why do I get to know this now?." Kidron frowns dropping his spoon.

"Simply because I found it necessary for you to know it now. Hopefully, they might want to negotiate perhaps not, still, both decisions are favourable for us..." the king grins malevolently.

Kidron simply grinds his teeth "As the commander of the army, I'm supposed to partake in importants decision. Dad, you have been acting weird recently. Are you trying to put me asunder? Or perhaps I don't merit your trust..." he frowns bitterly.

"Kidron, it has nothing to do with you. On the contrary, I don't want more innocent people to get involved in this personal conflict. I'm tired my son... However, Demons has to pay. This is why I will ask him to duel me in a one to one combat to dead, the stronger wins."

I'm busily eating the food without taking note of anything they say. I'm just so happy to be free and to eat good food, I can't trade this for any stupid discussion.

"What dad?. It's very risky. I can't afford to lose you." Elgin nearly chock full as she swallows the food in her mouth with difficulty. "Dad, you aren't any younger," Kidron sympathise.

"Him either, he isn't any younger. I think it's a fair competition." The King says.

"Heavenly, finally you are making sense. You all should trust me, this is better for all of us, I know what I mean. I'm tired to be in the middle of fights which has nothing to do with me..." I suddenly lift up my bone to the ceiling, happily with a very huge smile on the face.

"My king, I'm strongly behind you." I get up form the chair on which I'm seated on, with the bone still in my hand, and I bow sarcastically then immediately sit back. I continue eating my food like they aren't existing.

"Spare us the pretence, it's clear that you careless and, normally, he's not your father, so you don't care if he lives or die." his son yells at me.

"Oh, believe me. I would have given the same advise to my father, if only he was still alive." I mock. "Unfortunately, he isn't your father. So please, do me a favour and keep your advice to yourself." he yells.

"You make a point," I whisper. He was right his dad wasn't certainly not, mine. Perhaps he has good memories with his father, contrary to me. I remain quiet and I keep eating. My wolf is hungry as hell.

"What if you die dad, who will take care of me, or of your kingdom?." Elgin is still terrified by the idea.

"Your brother is well fit for all this. He can take care of this kingdom and you as well, as he has always done." he gazes at her with so much love that I turn to be envious. I wish my dad was this affectionate when he was alive.

"If you die in the combat, they will automatically seize the kingdom, surely kill  Elgin and I. So I still think that this is not the best decision." He scowls.

"This is why Eve is here. She knows what to do if such a thing happens and we have another deal if it doesn't." he turns his severe stare at me. I keep my eyes fixed on my dish yet I can fell it. I simply lift my cup.

"And I hope you will stick to it." he bitterly utters. "Sure." I simply nod my head. One thing which is pissing me off is that, he looks at his daughter with so much love but he turns to me with a bitter one. It's sucks.

"I think I need to rest." Elgin is impatient to end dinner so that she can have time to know her friend. But was Eve considering her as one?.

"Dad, can Eve sleep with me tonight?. Please, please Dad, don't say no..." she fakes a baby stare. The King puffs in discomfort. Elgin keeps insisting. "Okay, she can."

Before the king could end his sentence, Elgin already pulled me with her, to her room. Her room is a palace of unfolding beauty, embalmed with the attributes of nature, with the velvet linings that pronounced the edges of her bed, coupled with roses and lilies at every angle, her room was the real defination of beauty. Closer to nature than nature itself.

"It's been a while since I saw her this happy.." Kidron explains while moving closer to the king. "Unfortunately, it won't last." the king takes a deep breath.

"Dad, you have to trust me, I'm your only son and somehow your only child, so it's important that we trust each other for the growth and prosperity of this kingdom. I want to know everything that you have planned and discussed with that princess..." Kidron says with all the seriousness of the world, hoping his father open up to him this time.
