Chapter 34: Chapter 34

• •    • •  King Williamson or Williams of the Aqua Kingdom • •   • •

"My beloved I need your help..." the king moans on the corpse of his love. The corpse is still fresh as if it were alive, though it looks white and puffy as if the body has been sprayed with white powder from head to toe.

The King has been keeping King Demons late wife's body in hope of resurrection. Unfortunately, such magic doesn't exist anymore. Gone are those days when great magicians were roaming the streets, performing unbelievable magic.

"Your husband, the man who seized you from me, and killed you is here, he might attack my kingdom soon... Tell me what to do?. Should I fight back or negotiate?, for your son and his future wife, after all, that young princess has nothing to do in the middle of all this havoc. All I want is the king." he speaks angrily.

He always wants to do the right thing, unfortunately, revenge has eaten him up. Contrary to other kings who love wars and colonising new territories, King Williams sees things differently and he has never engaged in a war to snatch one's land. He always stays in his lane. One can easily say that, he's satisfied and contented with what he has.

"I promised the people of my kingdom property and growth, not a series of endless revenge. However, I consider all these sacrifices necessary for your sake. King Demons will pay... Once this is done we will be at peace. Then I will later concentrate on your resurrection..." he caresses her face with so much passion that a few drops of tears escape his eyes.

After a few minutes of intense talking to the corpse or rather to himself he later closes the coffin and moves to his room for a brief reflection.

"You have been quiet since we left the cell, I hope there is nothing wrong with you?" Elgin wonders at the change of mood of her beloved brother.

"Nothing!" Kidron retorts with a smile to reassure her. "Good!. I'm mad at you though, you didn't give me much time to discuss with her." she scowls.

"What the hell will you be discussing with your father's prisoner?. Perhaps planning her break out or what?" he says sarcastically.

"Planning on how to kill the King!. Haha... Hey, chill. I'm kidding." Elgin pulls her brother's legs as usual. "I just feel that we have somethings in common; she's a princess like me, I think we're of the same age, so perhaps she can teach me a few things."

"Still... you don't need her." Kidron pulls his words. "Don't just get too attached. I don't want you to be hurt when the time comes for dad to get rid of her. Honestly, I think you should stay away from her."

"Don't you dare Brother!. She's the only distraction I have for now. I don't harm anyone by visiting her. Indeed, I don't know how this world functions, but trust me I can't do anything that will jeopardise you or dad- or our kingdom."

"It's fine!. Unfortunately, I have to meet with the warriors soon. See you later. And take care of yourself." he gives her a perk on the forehead and he leaves. "Sure." she nods.

"Open the door!" he orders, immediately the the door opens. He walks into the cell with about three men, each holding a lighted stick, illuminating the room, thus increasing visibility.

"Elgin, twice in less than an hour, wow!" Eve wonders aloud as she hears some footsteps approaching her cell. She's laying on the ground dehydrated.

"Leave us alone." he waves the men out. They hang their sticks on the walls, place a chair and they instantly evacuate the cell.

"Unfortunately, it's not Elgin." his voice strokes her unaware, she was expecting everyone's visit except his. She pulls herself to the bar of her cell. "My king" on the ground, she bows sarcastically. The King infers the travesty.

"What brings you here today. Oh, let me guess, my people are on their way and you will finally have your revenge." she boldly speaks though she is terrified inside.

She can't stop thinking about how her dead will unfold, how it's going to be?, will he slaughter her, or will he roast her, or mutilate her. All sorts of horrible thoughts, steering her mind.

"The last time you call me Ludicrous, as a good man, and a wise king I didn't mind that, I forgave you. I could have asked my men to give you several strokes in public or at a market place but I didn't. So if I were you, I would mind my next words carefully." he lets every word out with disdain.

It's obvious that he isn't happy to be here.

"Oh!- my king- that was so kind of you, you didn't have to." she retorts sacstically with a huge smile of mockery on her face. Then she frowns "It would have been better to receive a thousand strokes than to starve to death..." she spits it at his face.

"You can thank me later. Now I'm here to talk about very important things. Are you ready to listen or I should I allow you to your useless blabbing?"

"This is what I have been waiting for, I'm happy you came back to your senses." Eve dares add... Despite the resentment, he turns turns to admire her boldness. He sees his little Elgin in her.

"What makes you think that what we are about to discuss will make me spare your life?." At some point, he wants to laugh yet he keeps it to himself and acts seriously. Indeed he is serious.

"Nothing..." Even murmurs. After a few minutes of brief discussion, the king leaves her cell.

"My King I have been searching for you, dinner is ready and your children are worried sick."

"Dad, since afternoon where have you been," Kidron exclaims as the king come to join them for dinner. "Don't worry I was making some arrangements. Don't forget son, our enemies are in our territory."

"Dad, why do you consider them enemies?" Elgin wonders aloud. "It's a long story baby girl. I will definitely spare you from the long boring count."

"I think it's time for us to release the princess out of the cage." the king happily announces to his children. "Why dad?" Kidron frowns.

"Good idea, Dad." Elgin is excited like fuck "When are you releasing her?."

"I've already ordered her release. I guess the maids are taking care of her by now. When she gets ready she will join us. I think in a few minutes. Also, Elgin,-  I asked the maids to borrow her some of your clothes." the kind adds, carelessly.

"Good idea Dad." Elgin happily says.

"Why, dad?. Why will you allow our enemies to eat, drink at the same table with us?. What are you up to?" Kidron insists.

"Relax, son. Know that during war, we make unreasonable choices, keep your enemies closer. However, keep in mind that plans can change during war, especially when it's favourable." the king lifts his cup and calls on his son for a toast, then he drinks.

• •     ••  Adam's POV ••    • •

"We are a few steps away from their main town. I suggest we camp her for the night. It's been two days of continues trekking, and our men have to rest well in case, events turn soar. Also I suggest that, you should send an emissary to see if the King is ready to negotiate. I need the princess alive." I give my suggestions to dad who seems too ignore every word that comes out of my mouth.

"So do I, son. So do I... Unfortunately, there will be no negotiations this time around. We are here for a war.

"My King, I thought Eve was our main priority here. I agree with Adam, if there is a way to avoid all these unecessary deaths, I opt for it." Edmonton says.

The King gives him a dead stare, then he pulls me by the side where no one can hear them.

"Son, be strategic, can't you see it, the Queen is of no use whether alive or death!. See the greater picture; If we win this fight and rule over the aqua kingdom, we will have more wealth and warriors to attack the Solis kingdom and conquer it. This will bring three great kingdoms under us. Isn't it marvellous?... Hahaha..." the king laughs cruelly.

"And in all this your count, how do I become Alpha?. Because the last time I checked, my marriage with Eve will make me an alpha..." I utter in disdain.

"You can become Alpha after my death, or we can always find any Alpha that you will kill and take his place. If all you care about are, the red eyes..." he says, carelessly. What pains me most is that he doesn't really care.

"Nearly all the existing Alpha's are Kings and they are well guided by great soldiers. And you are also aware that, it's not every day that we find a princess, daughter to a late Alpha and king like Eve..." I tries to convince him.

"Talking about that, If we capture Williams, I will give up on my dream of killing him and I will offer him to you, his also an alpha..."

"Dad, King Williamson is not an Alpha and you know it. Why do you always fib this much, sometimes it's hard for me to believe you? I'm done with this conversation." I walks away.

"Come back here, you ungrateful brat. I think I have over pampered you," he yells yet I walks away.

Two men on their horses approach their camp which makes them apprehensive.

"We come in peace." the men scream as they approach the camp. They stop half way. The King, Edmonton and I move to them.

"We are sent by the king. He will like to know if there is any room for negotiations. He wants to avoid the unnecessary killings as well as he is ready to fight in case. He also asked us to remind king Demons that he emerged victorious the first time and that he can definitely emerge winner this second time. That you should think wisely, and not let his ego get the better part of him."

"Go and tell your stupid king that there is no room for any negotiations, and that we are ready to fight him. The strongest wins, and this definitely isn't him." the king replies instantly without giving it any thought.
