"Dad, why is it so hard for you to trust me?." Kidron smirks at his father's silence.

"My King, the emissaries are back. King Demons is ready to negotiate, but they want to see the princess first." Tommy barges, interrupting their discussion.

"Good. We will get back to them tomorrow morning. I will organise a meeting with them. Anyway, let's allow this for tomorrow. You can leave!"

Tommy immediately leaves the room.

"Son, I will tell you everything about my plans when the right time comes. Now, I think we have to rest, for tomorrow is going to be a great day." "Okay, Dad." Though Kidron isn't satisfied, he still complies. Kidron leaves his father's presence.

As he's going through the corridor, he stops by to check on his kid sister, but he does not enter, he discretely struts by the door watching her happily discussing with Eve and both are laughing.

He can't infer the subject of their conversion, but it's surely an interesting one, he tells himself. The heavy laughter on their faces, delights his heart. He even wishes his sister can be this happy for ever. Also, he wishes he can know more about the hostage Princess. It's clear that her beauty astonishes him, this is from the very first day he saw her.

He stood by the door for quite some time, that he gets lost in his thoughts.

"Kidron, I'm happy you are here, you can join us, come in, Elgin waves at her brother. Eve and I are talking about our, boring life. Won't you join us?" Elgin insists.

"No it's fine, I was just passing to check on you and I'm happy to see that you are in good company. My purpose here is done." he barely grins.

"Don't be difficult, Kidron... come, join us." she hurries to him, pulling him in. He can't refuse her anything, his shoulder slumps in defeat as he allows himself to be pulled into the room. He takes a seat on the wood chair opposite the bed, while Elgin seat by Eve, in bed.

"Don't mind him, he's kinder than what he seems, he just like putting on that look for public eye" she whispers to Eve and both smile rendering Kidron nervous. He scratches the back of his head, glowering his brows with a confused smile on.

Eve and Kidron barely glance at each other, they glimpse at themselves as if they are in a hide and seek game.

"Eve was telling me about her future spouse, who happens to be the son to Dad's enemy, and this is how she got into the middle of all this havoc." she eagerly deciphers, admiring her active life.

Kindron doesn't heed any word that follow, spouse as it seizes all his attention. This lulls his gut, killing all his hope at the same time. "Great," he smile at his sister, switching his serious gaze at Eve, it seems like kidron was kinda jealous.

"Yet, I had no idea about the princess engagements, dad didn't bother telling me. And - if I may ask,- -- who is the unlucky fellow?" Kidron taunts to hide his frustration.

"Don't be silly, Kidron. How dare you say such a thing."Elgin defence Eve.

"He's called Adam, a son to a king and Alpha. He's a prince like your sister told you. And he's sure everything but not unlucky to have me." Eve frowns and she retorts boldly.

Kidron admires her boldness. However, now he knows that he stands no change since she's already engage to a prince like Adam.

"Wow, Eve, you are lucky. How I wish I had a normal life like yours." Elgin exclaims with her smile fading away.

"My life has nothing normal, trust me. I have been living from one dramatic situation to another. Just when I conclude that my sorrows are over, something pops up. Just a few hours ago I thought I was going to be killed by your father, luckily, he changed his mind." she explains with so much relief.

"Oh, I can imagine how you felt because that is how I feel every single second of my life. The worst is whenever and I lay in bed, I always have this fear of never getting up the next day." she sadly explains.

"You both are very pathetic, right now. I think it's time I allow you all to your miserable lives." he teases "Tomorrow is a great day." Kidron gets up and he moves out.

Elgin heavenly falls in bed, shivering. So seriously that her pupil shifts up until it get lost and her eyes are all white, murmuring into an unknown language... This terrifies, Eve.

"Elgin, Elgin, what's wrong with you?" Eve screams the hell out of her. Kidron immediately gets back in the room when he hear her scream. "Calm down, this happens always, you don't have to worry." he takes Elgin off, her hands.

He lays her comfortably in bed meanwhile Eve was already cry, she can't help it. Her heart is pounding. At a certain moment, Elgin stops speaking and shivering, she simply falls asleep.

"Damn!" Eve cries when Elgin calms down "Kidron, what are you doing, check if she's breathing." Eve yells.

"Shhhtt... Stop, crying." Kidron sits by her in bed, taking her into his arms like a little baby. He caresses her hair. "She's fine," he whispers.

"What is wrong with her, I thought she was going to die. Did you see her eyes?- they were all white - OMG" she's still panicking.

"I understand your reaction, it's your first time witnessing this. Unfortunately, she has been having this since she was born. OMG, I'm ready to do everything to stop her from this torture." He exclaims, still caressing Eve's hairs and she seems to enjoy it.

"I'm sorry about this. When will she get up?" she asks. "It's undefined, perhaps in a few hours, days, weeks months, etc.." Kidron retorts.

"Heavenly... This is a nightmare." she wipes her tears, taking a visible step off his arms, this makes him feel guilty.  "Sorry, I didn't mean to..." Kidron can't find the right words, he doesn't want to appear like an opportunist.

"It's fine. It's nothing... I hope she gets well soon. I will pray to the moon God for a quick recovery."

"Thats a good idea." he grins "I will ask a maid to find you a room where you can sleep comfortably. I will be in my room if you need anything!" he says as he gets up from the bed.

"It's not necessary, I will spend the night with Elgin, perhaps today is our last day together, we might never meet again. So I want to be here if she gets up at night."

"I'm happy she found someone like you, unfortunately, all this won't last. You will be free tomorrow and all this will be over for you. Though I would have loved to know you better, - I mean, - I would have loved Elgin to spend more time with you... Just this evening by you, she was so damn happy like  never before. I have never seen her this comfortable before." Kidron speaks carelessly, sadden by her soon departure.

"No one knows the future, no one knows what "the god" has planned for us. Perhaps we might meet again... I might arrange that if I leave this palace alive."

"I will be very grateful if you do that for her. I'm sure she will be happy to have you visiting, but please don't promise her anything when she gets up if you are not sure to fulfil it. I don't want her to suffer." he warns...

"Sure, I understand." she nods "You're a nice person, your love for your sister makes me envious." Eve walks to him, standing at the tip of her toes, she gives him a perk on the cheek. Why did she do that, she obviously has no idea, she simply followed her instincts.

She steps back on her feet to take a few steps away from him, but to her greatest surprise, Kidron clenches her arm immediately as she turns, halting her from walking away. He slowly turns her back to him.

Now they are facing each other, with their mouths damn close, she can feel his warm breath while he can feel her heart pound, rapidly "I know it's not the right time nor the right place but I have to ask you this. Can I?"

"Go ahead, Eve." Eagerly retorts.

"What negotiation did you do with my father? What are his plans?. I need to know this, and all what you guys discussed." he asks without taking a break nor a breath.

Eve, is a little disappointed. Due to all his discrete aftermath regarding her beauty, she expected him to flirt. Whether she planned on turning him down or not, now no one will ever know...

"Why don't you ask this to your father, directly?. After all, I'm just a prisoner, it's not like my words or feelings matter." she frowns, flinching away from his grip.

Then she smiles sarcastically "Don't make me believe that your father, the king will trust a stranger to his own son?!" she recklessly move away, then she climbs and lays in bed by Elgin. She closes her eyes as if she is sleeping.

Kidron simply frowns then he moves out. Eve opens her eyes as she watches his shadow fade away like light in a mist.

"Shit!" he hits the wall when he reaches his room, the sarcastic smile on eve's face make him feel ridiculous. All these emotions floating around him, drown his brain.
