Chapter 21: Chapter 21

"Eve we have to leave." Adams knocks my room. "Ourr... I know!. Can we stay here a few more days?" I cry.

"I have things to do back there, so we have to leave." he moves away from my door. He seats on the couch as he pours himself a few cups of whiskey while waiting for me.

"You are right, Maryline must be worried sick. Please drop me first before going to your kingdom. I need to see her first thing." I cry.

He frowns as I mention Maryline.

"Why don't you like her, she's a very good person and she is the only parent I've ever had with uncle Edmonton. They're all I got." his expression makes me worry.

"Edmonton!" he murmurs in disgust and this intrigues me "There are things you can't understand." he caresses my cheeks.

"More to this, It's needless since we're getting married soon and you won't have to feel the absence of family again. I will always be here for you and the love from our kid's will feel your heart." he consoles.

We move out of the building to his car. And take a long drive to the wilderness.

As usual, he parks his car on the exact spot where we took it from, by the forest and he covers it with the piles of grass, dry leaves, etc.. that we're already there.

We enter the gate to our world...

"Welcome, my Prince. My princess" Jack bows in reverence, handing his horse. "Jack." he nods.

He climbs the horse and Jack helps me to climb behind him. "Thank you, Jack." I smile and Adams strike the horse.

My heart begins to pound as I don't know what story to cook up for Maryline. I don't know if she will be angry or sad. Anyway, I'm happy to see her again. To a certain extent, I must admit that I miss her.

Adams strikes the horse harder and it has no choice but to race with the wind. As we ride, nothing in this forest seem familiar since I know nowhere.

"You promised me, to drop me first." I froze as I see the gate to the Caelum kingdom. I still have bad memories of this place.

"I changed my mind. I have something to deal with here before we leave for your kingdom." he recklessly exclaims.

"And what is that, that you have to deal with?" I frown. "You will understand soon. Just trust me." he helps me down the horse.

"All I'm asking for, is for you to inform me before taking such decisions which affects me. I'm tired of people dictating my life like I'm some sort of toy." I'm sick.

"I understand. We are leaving tomorrow morning. For now you need rest." he moves away, while maids take care of me.

In the evening,

"My Princess, the Prince seeks your presence." I immediately get up from bed in surprise. "Take me to him." I order.

I enter the throne room, just to find Adams standing by his father who is seated on the throne. I'm shocked, as well as the king is, the eagerness on his facial expressions says it all.

"I organised this small meeting because, I have some questions to ask my dad, the king." Adams says as he sees me enter. "And what does it has to do with me." I murmur in shock with words honestly escaping my mind.

"We all know my wedding with Eve will make me king. That is, I will be your equal. So I think every decision you take concerning our troops, you have to let us know. Is it dad?" Adams affronts.

"Children..." the king sarcastically say. You aren't king yet, here you act like one. This is something a wise man wouldn't do. I must admit, I'm disappointed by your words." he gasps in dismay.

"To think, all that I'm doing is for you, and you talk to me like that, it hurts." he adds.

"Dad, you only think about yourself. Anyway, it's not the reason why we're here. When I was at the karat gate, I heard you sent all the troopers home. Why?"

"Stop shouting, many don't know the existence of that gate and you know it." The king yells.

"I don't get you. You don't want others to know about the existence of the gate, Why?. Why do you think it's better for others not to know about the gate, why?"

"You're ridiculous!" the King murmurs in contempt. "Sure I am. Though I haven't received the answer to my questions yet."

"How dare you to talk to me in such a disrespectful manner and worst of all in her presence."

"Dad, she is a queen. You sent her troopers away without her concern." he walks to me, clenching my hand "and I believe she has to know why. Isn't it my Queen?" he moves me further.

I get lost in his clench then I later realise myself "Of course!." I boldly retort taking my glance to the king who is burning in anger.

"Not for you, but for the sake of the princess, I will answer this. I sent them home because the place has maintain some peace for the past few years and we have been spending a lot of resources to maintain them. So I thought it better to reduce our losses."

"Noted, but next time inform us first." Adams. "We have to rest" Adams clenches my hands to leave. "Adams we need to talk."

"I'm all ears Dad." "In private." the king insists.

"Its Fine Adams, discuss with your father. I will find my way." I don't want to be in the middle of a family dispute. I leave immediately.

"I don't know what you are playing at or planning but you're damn good. Continue making her feel loved, but remember, don't fall in love with her. She isn't part of our plan." His dad laughs.

"Your plans you mean, not mine. You never tell me anything."

"You see, this is why I always tell you less, you are very impulsive." he frowns "Calm down, make the princess trust you and I promise you, my son, you won't regret anything."

"Noted Dad." Adams grins maliciously.

.

.

While I was wandering in the forest behind the palace, taking some fresh air. I see this young guy taking a bath in the river not far from the palace.

His body is divine. So divine that it can make one commit a sin. His abs well demark, his arms as broad as an armour where I can seek refuge under. Omg his eyes strike my ego.

All in slow motion, the moves out of the water, equalises to a war hero coming to safe me. In my world of trance I don't notice his gaze has meet mine, until I snapped out of my thoughts.

I hide my face with my hands but the attraction is like a magnet as I keep piping at his naked skin through my fingers.

"My princess." he humbly utters as he sees me, he immediately turns away from me hiding his core with his hands. I turn to fling my stare away and he runs and put on his dresses.

"You can turn my princess." he smiles so softly, he looks like he is in his early 20s and very humble though not rich. My eyes can't help put stare at his abs, as his top is completely open.

"Why are you taking such a cold bath with such cruel weather?" who does this, I ask myself.

"I love it. I love connecting with nature. As I work all day and free only at night, I spend my night in the forest before going to sleep." he explains with his charming smile.

"Intense!" I exclaim.

"I'm Andrew and you are Princess Eve. I'm happy to meet you in person. Just a few days ago I didn't know what you look like, until the unfortunate incident. A few always spoke about your beauty, some said you didn't reveal your identity because of your ugliness." he gently steps further.

I listen carefully,

"But now that I have you right in front of me, I must admit, you beauty is dazzling, like that of a rare pearl. Words can't accurately define your beauty." he flirts then he unexpectedly clenches my hand and kiss in reverence.

A froze chill goes down my spine and I blush "Nice to meet you, Andrew and thank you for your kind words."

"So Andrew, what do you do for a living?"

"I was a trooper at the Karat gate but now, I'm helping my mum in her pig fence. We are still waiting for the king to recruit us as warriors like he already did with some."

"I see, your skin looks soft and well-taken care off" I softly rub my hands on his bare chest. Slowly Caressing it to his arms and back to his chest. Seriously he doesn't look like a trooper.

He simply smiles at my touch.

"Eve, I have been searching for you." Adams moves to me with a frown and I shuddered at the sound of his voice, taking off my hands from Andrew's skin.

"Adams." I heavenly gasp his name in guilt.

"What are you doing out, alone at this time of the night?. I was worried." "I was discussing with Andrew."

"Andrew!. I see, Let's get in now" he pulls me alone with him without giving me the time to say goodbye to Andrew. I look behind as he pulls me. And Andrew bows in reverence as I dissappear.

I simply smile at his funny gesture.

"You shouldn't work in the forest alone. It's Very Dangerous." Adams rules.

However, I'm not regretful.
