Chapter 20: Chapter 20

Matilda was terrified all night with what she had seen. Flashes came to her as she longed for the sun to rise.

Early the next morning, the troopers bid goodbye to the king and decided to go along with Matilda only as there was no hope that the princess would show up.

"As soon as they return, I will send the Princess right away." Said the king. "Extend my sincere apologies to Prince Edmonton for the dissappointments." with that said, the king walks away while they strike their horses and fly into the woods.

As soon as troopers arrive, the leader of the troopers runs into Edmonton's office, knocking the door.

"Get in. Hope you have some good news for me," he warns as the trooper enters "Sir we have a good and 2 bad news."

Edmonton breaths out "Start with the good one."

"We found the Princess. The bad news is, by the time we arrived, she had left with Edmonton to where we don't know. We waited for her in vain." he gets apprehensive giving excuses to appeal Edmonton.

"Then why tell me there's good news when you didn't see her. It's fine. Leave!" he waves him out. "Sir, this isn't all" he hesitates "Talk, I don't have all the time." Edmonton frowns.

"We heard that the Princess was captured and beaten in public under the King's command. But Sir Adams came just in time to save her from further torture. But sources confirm that the king had no idea it was the princess till Adams intervened." he counts.

"Get out!" Edmonton transforms his fury into harsh words as he tells off the commander and sends him out.

Edmonton grins cruelly "King Demon, you will pay for this."

"I heard all he said!." Maryline barges into his office "It's impolite to listen to people's conversation." Edmonton tells her.

"I told you the king has no good plan for our kingdom. Why will he beat people from our clan, what if it wasn't the princess he would have beaten them to death?" she cries.

"Woman, we will sort this out. I hate when you barge in and you know that." he scowls.

"As if I care about what you like or hate. The only thing we have in common is Eve, so I'm here to talk about her. Now that Adams has gone with her, what are we going to do next?"

He gets up from his seat "What you will do now, is wait for her quietly while I do my job. Make sure you do your job well. I hope you haven't forgotten what it is?." he gently caresses her hair and she feels disgusted.

She flinches "Don't think you are better than me, we are both servants, perhaps with different duties but the fact remains. Don't you ever forget your position, My dear Edmonton?" she boldly retorts.

He walks to his seat with a frown "Get back to your duty post."

"Of course I will leave because I have to, not because you ordered me. We both know I don't take orders from you." she walks out.

"My dear Maryline, you are getting too mouthy and I think I need to do something about it" he murmurs to himself as he watches her leave.

After a few minutes of thought, he picks his paper and ink to write a letter to the King of the Caelum clan.

"What does Adams think of himself, that he can just take my Eve without my permission?" Maryline brutally slashes the tomatoes on the chopping board.

"Who are you and what were you doing in that kingdom with the princess." she angrily asks to Matilda, who feels the anger in her tune and it terrifies her to the bone.

"Nothing. Please I have to go home now. My parents are surely worried." she lies with her trembling voice.

Maryline turns to her, pointing her with the knife "Don't you dare lie to me. Tell me everything and how you became friends with Eve, or else you will never see your parents again.

Maryline, mean her words.

The early morning sun pours through my window. Another day has awaken. I shudder out of my sleep to find Adams seated in the room with a newspaper in his hands. I guess he is the one who opened the window blinds.

I softly rub my ears, as I lift up my head from the pillow. He immediately closes the newspaper once he notices I'm awake.

"The tutor will be here soon, so get ready." I get up to leave. "I don't have a dress to put on." my words halt him.

"Oh, a beautician stylist will be here soon to take care of you. You take what you like." with that said, he walks out.

I walk to the bathroom and I'm so confused, I'm not understanding anything on the mechanism display. Luckily Adams sends someone to show me.

Once I'm done with the bath, I move to the room, just to find a stylish lady with a mobile wardrobe with very beautiful dresses awaiting me.

"Hello Miss." she greets with a smile. I simply smile at her. We get acquainted as we measure a series of very stylish outfits. I feel uncomfortable in some of the dresses as it exposes half of my naked skin which isn't appropriate.

Maryline always told me that a lady has to keep her nudity private but it seems to be the contrary here as no one cares.

However, the lady succeeds in convincing me to take a long red straight gown which cuts directly above my knees with long hands. Yet I feel naked as air blow across my knees.

She puts on layers of powder on my face, with some lipstick and equally teaches me how to do it. The scent of the lipstick is breath taking. Then she combs my hair all through and left it falling on my shoulder.

Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I can't recognise myself. I look so different. I look more like a loose woman, and in my world some are more covered than I am, right now.

"Perfect!" the woman exclaims with a huge smile.

She takes me out to Adams, I first hesitate, but she pulls me to the living room with her. "Sir!" she calls for his attention.

He fixes his alluring stare on me. I see the satisfaction on his countenance. Adams was stucked, he was trapped by my transformation, I could see his eyes bulging and mouth dropping, but I just smiled.

Omg, I won't lie at the moment I loved my looks, never felt this confidence before and I love the way my looks put Adams in a trance.

"Thank you!" he smiles at the woman while he takes my hands saying "breakfast is ready." while moving to the kitchen.

We seat in and the maid serves us breakfast while the stylist left. After that, we move to the car.

"Where are we heading to?." I wonder. "To where I work." he drives and stops in front of very big and tall buildings racing to touch the sky.

We step out of the car walking into the building.

"I started as a worker here, later I walked myself all to the top. It wasn't easy at all, but the hard work was worth it as I'm the owner of all this now." We enter the building and everyone respects him like a king.

"How or where did you get all this money?" I wonder, because everything in this the world looks expensive.

"It's a long story." he moves ahead to the elevator, I follow him in "We have all the time." I insist.

I will love to own such a big building in this world so that people will look up to me as they do with Adams and I must be greater than him so that he will stop seeing me as a fragile woman.

"You mean, you have all the time." he gently hits my nose with his fingers, the door opens and we step out moving to his office.

"I have some work to do." he grumbles. "I see." I nod. There's a whole pile of paper work and files on his table.

"What can I do to help." I start picking up some files to go through, I feel the way his eyes are all over me.

"Aren't you supposed to be working?. Rather than starring."

He holds me from the back, engulfing my hands into his palms and I feel the sensational comfortable and urging. Gradually, I face him, before I can realise it I feel his tongue deep in to my mouth as we're kissing.

"Sir, the files you asked for." his secretary barges in and she finds me seated on his laps kissing. This embarrasses me but Adams is not even disturbed.

"Keep it and leave," he orders her with his stare fixed on me. We continue like no one interrupted us. Yet I'm still nervous. What will she think of me?
