Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Brody's POV

"What are you doing here?" I asked and fear gripped her. She was definitely trying to be bold but it was not helping matters.

"I'm here...."

I interrupted. "What are you doing here late at night? It's already 12pm." I told him and she gasped.

I was already fuming with anger but I was able to control my anger because we were not truly married. How would a responsible woman be found in a man's house late at night, not just any man but her therapist.

"You don't have the right to make me feel like an object."

I chuckled and responded nicely. "I'm not making you feel like an object."

She frowned. "We've just signed a contract but you're already monitoring my activities, did we agree on that?" She asked annoyed.

"I should be angry and not you." I said.

"And why shouldn't I be angry? Don't make me regret signing your contract." She remarked, a serious yet threatening tone lacing her voice.

"You don't have to be rude, we're both at fault."

"Who told you I was here?" She asked.

"Emily, your sweet friend, I found his house address on his business card and decided to come here." I answered with a smirk and caught hold of her hands. "You're a whore, can't you accept the truth?" I asked.

"You're hurting me." She said and winced in pain as I held her hands tightly.

"You're a whore."

"I'm not married to you and I have the right to go anywhere I want to go to with or without your permission." She reminded me and shot me an annoyed look.

I chuckled. "You didn't read the contract before signing, you are not to go anywhere except I give you the permission to move an inch."

"I'm not your slave."

"You signed the contract."

Bill came out of the house and looked at me, he was shocked. "What are you doing here? It's late in the night." He said.

A frown plastered on my face. "Did you guys enjoy each other?" I asked.

"Nothing happened, she was just here to take care of my children."

"I don't believe you." I tutted in disbelief.

"It's the truth, I followed him here to take care of his children." She added and I dropped her hand reluctantly.

"Let's go home." I suggested with a smile.

She shrugged and looked at Bill before looking at me. "I can't go with you."

I was taken aback. "I can't leave you here either." I told her.

She looked at me and this time, her eyes glowed which made her face look more beautiful. "Alright, I'll follow you." She gave up with a smile.

"I'll meet you in the car." I replied as she nodded and walked out of the gate.

"I'm not having an affair with Karen." He said.

I turned to face him. "The contract is official now, I don't want to see you with Karen again." I replied.

"She is also my client and it's only right for me to see my client."

"I don't have to warn you, do I? I'm not a bad person and I don't want to be one." I told him.

He raised an eyebrow in surprise. "I won't disturb her again." He assured me and smiled cheekily.

Lisa's POV

I woke up in the morning and found Brody staring at me, I almost screamed as I jumped out from the bed scared. Why was he staring at me?

"What are you doing?" I asked loudly.

"I wasn't staring at you, it was just a coincidence." He defended himself, aghast.

Blinking my eyes, I looked at him surprised. "What am I doing on your bed?" I asked.

He shifted back a little and frowned. "Believe me, we didn't have sex."

"Of course, we didn't. You asshole!" I screamed and threw a party at him.

"It wasn't good for you to sleep in the parlor. Diego would have woken up to find you." He said.

"Who's Diego?" I asked.

He shrugged and smiled. "My sister's five-year old son is around."

I frowned at the thought of having kids around the house. I was very sure he would be a burden to me. "You didn't tell me he was going to visit you."

He scratched his cheeks and looked at me. "I'm sorry, she just brought him. I was also surprised." He apologized.

"It's fine."

"You should be careful around him, he seems intelligent for a five-year old kid."

What did he mean? What could a five-year old kid know? "I'll try my best but he shouldn't get on my nerves."

"Of course, he shouldn't." He replied and walked out of the bathroom.

I hesitated for a second, confused on what to do next. I removed my clothes slowly and walked into the bathroom. Turning on the shower, I bathed quickly and turned it off. I took a towel and cleaned myself trying to look happy but I was not happy.

Everywhere was dull and I missed Henry's jokes and Emily's disturbance, they were the only two friends I had.

Walking out of the bathroom, I checked the wardrobe and found new female clothes that he must have kept there for me.

I slipped into a culotte dress and looked at myself in the mirror.

The gown made me look wealthy and elegant. I heaved a sigh of relief and came out of the room. Walking down the stairs, I found a little boy watching a film on the television and I remembered Emily's bad habit of watching films early in the morning.

"Good morning." He greeted Brody who smiled at him. Brody gave him a cup of tea and ruffled his hair. I admired his love for kids and silently prayed for him to have a kid.

"Won't you join us, babe?" He asked and I walked towards him and hugged him.

"What is your name, cute kid?" I asked and bent down to kiss him on his forehead.

He giggled excitedly and hugged me. "I like you already." He said and I blushed.

"Thanks."

"I'm Diego Coleman and my father's name is Thomas Coleman." He said proudly and I smiled and touched his cheeks.

He smiled charmingly. "You have a sweet name." I told him. He turned to greet Brody before looking at me.

"Are you Brody's girlfriend?" He asked and my heart skipped a beat. I stood up, uncomfortable and took a few steps backward before Brody caught me.

I turned to face Brody and he looked at me, his expression was blank.
