Chapter 82: Chapter 82
"Winda."
The sound of her employer's call made Winda, who had been fiddling with her phone, jump. She quickly stuffed the flat object into her apron pocket.
"Yes, ma'am," she replied calmly.
Aleta, who had caught the servant playing with her cell phone while at work, narrowed her eyes. "I don't like workers who don't complete their work properly and are instead engrossed in playing with their cell phones," Aleta quipped.
Winda, who heard the sarcasm, simply nodded her head as she repeated her apology. When it came to being pleading, Winda was very experienced.
"Sorry, ma'am. I accidentally got a message from my mother earlier. My mother is sick, Madam. I'm sorry I didn't obey the rules in this house because I'm very worried about my mother," she made up.
Winda bowed her head. Her tone made her voice tremble as if she was holding back tears. The puckered look on her face made everyone who saw her melt. Including Aleta who eventually softened.
"Okay-okay, now you better continue your work. I don't want any work to be missed," Aleta said in the end as she walked away from the woman.
Winda nodded her head. She immediately turned around and began to carry out the orders of her mistress. Winda squatted in front of the refrigerator while rubbing her chest. Her heart was beating fast. She thought her plan would be discovered quickly.
"Huh, shit, I need to be more careful," she hissed.
Fortunately, Winda had time to open an internet link about something she was looking for. She opened the fruit section of the shelves. Looking for the fruits mentioned by the article link.
"Pineapple and jackfruit. Why aren't those two fruits here," Winda wondered.
She stood up. Then opened her apron and got ready to go out. She was determined to get those fruits.
Another waitress who saw Winda getting ready to leave then reprimanded her.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm going to buy some fruits for Madam. I see the fruits in the fridge look boring," Winda replied smoothly. She didn't show her nervousness at all and acted normally as if nothing had happened. This made her other coworkers less concerned and suspicious of Winda.
Finding herself able to escape the questions of her coworkers, Winda felt happy that she had succeeded in carrying out her plan. The woman couldn't wait to make the fetus in Danas' womb miscarry.
"You need to get out of here Danas and stop making happy faces at me," she hissed with a lopsided smile.
Winda had just arrived from the supermarket with fruits that could cause a natural miscarriage. She looked at the two fruits in her hand with a sly glint in her eye.
Then her delicate hands began to pick up some kitchen utensils. She took a blender, knife, and tray. Then she began to cut the pineapple she had just bought and put it into the blender.
Winda put a lot of pineapple into it. She also took a big glass, she hoped Danas would finish this big glass of pineapple juice. That way her plan to eliminate the fetus in Danas' womb would succeed.
The woman also took a bigger bowl to put the jackfruit. She cut the jackfruit into small cubes. Then she put the jackfruit pieces into the bowl.
After the two fruit concoctions were finished, Winda looked at her with a satisfied look. She put the glass of pineapple juice and the bowl of jackfruit on the tray.
Then Winda went to the second floor where Danas was. She held the tray carefully. Climbing each step of the stairs with the thought of one more step to her victory, one more step to make Danas leave the mansion.
And Winda couldn't wait for that moment to arrive.
Danas sat on his bed. He lowered the temperature of his air conditioner, then lit an aromatherapy candle. After that, Danas entered the bathroom to clean his body. During pregnancy, Danas pampered her body more often. Especially when she consulted with her obgyn doctor who said Danas should pay more attention to her hygiene and health. All of this was done to create a calm and comfortable mind, so that the fetus in her stomach would feel the same way.
Danas took the warm bath while inhaling the aromatherapy candles installed by her maid. After the bath, Danas came out of the bathroom and got dressed.
She sat on her dressing table chair. Opening the drawer underneath, she took out one of her black hair dryers.
Danas dried the wet hair using a hair dryer. She did so while whistling lightly. After that, it was on to daily skincare. Danas also became very meticulous in choosing her face cream.
She thoroughly researched the ingredients that would affect her pregnancy and was not careless about it.
Danas closed the serum bottle. Then she put it neatly back on the dressing table. One hand stroked her belly, which was not yet prominent. She repeatedly invited the child in her womb to talk.
Until there was a knock on the door. Danas turned to the door of her room. "Yes, who's there?" Danas asked.
"It's me Winda. I'll bring some fruit and juice for Madam," replied the maid.
"Okay, please come in." Danas invited Winda to enter her room.
The jackfruit and pineapple juice that Winda had made was immediately given to Danas. Danas gladly accepted the servant's gift because she didn't know how it would affect her if she ate it.
Winda seems to really care, Danas thought of the new maid. Winda took the initiative to give something to Danas without even being asked. Danas thought that there was nothing wrong with accepting other people's goodwill. Rather, she was afraid because since Christina's absence, people always seemed to be cold to her. The attention directed at her wasn't actually for her. Instead, it was for the baby in her womb.
Danas finally ate the jackfruit that was placed on the table, not far from the bed. Maybe it was because the fruit wasn't really ripe, so it tasted a bit bland. In fact, Danas actually likes to eat fruits. However, the bland taste made her less appetizing. As a result, Danas didn't eat more of it.
"Please take all of it," Winda said.
She took a few steps back. Making room for Danas to take the drinks and fruits she provided.
"Is there anything else I need help with? If not I will continue with my other work," Winda said.
Danas mumbled a little. Thinking of his needs that were already available in her room. It made her shake her head and smile widely. "Nothing. You may continue your work," Danas said to Winda.
Winda walked out of Danas' room with a happy heart. She could see Danas sipping her homemade pineapple juice. It seemed Danas didn't know that both fruits were forbidden for consumption by pregnant women. Winda smiled wryly. Her plan would work.
"That's too bad," she said after seeing the sizable chunks of jackfruit placed on a white ceramic plate.
Danas then went back to relaxing. She wanted to get rid of the boredom of being cooped up in the house for too long. She chose to lie on the bed while watching food videos on her cell phone. The videos showed a variety of foods that made her taste buds tingle. Danas wished he could enjoy those dishes. However, she knew that people would not allow her to ask for all kinds of food without considering the health of her fetus. She resisted the urge, and consoled herself by drinking the pineapple juice Winda had given her.
Danas finally decided to lie back down, then returned to staring intensely at her phone screen. However, about twenty minutes in, the effects of the fruit finally appeared. A pain in the stomach came to Danas.
"A, ouch," the woman complained. She was really confused because her stomach suddenly hurt. Danas then held her stomach.
"What's wrong?" The woman wondered.
Danas put down her mobile phone and got up from the bed. She sat on the bed while continuing to stroke her stomach, which was in pain. Danas thought that such things might happen sometimes. After all, this was her first pregnancy. So, she didn't know much about normal and abnormal conditions.
Unfortunately, instead of the pain subsiding, Danas' stomach gradually became more painful and left her with a burning feeling.
"A, what's wrong? Why does it hurt so much?" Danas finally got up from the bed. She intended to get out of the room and seek help.
However, as she walked, the pain made her whole body weak. Her legs could not support her weight.
Danas held on to a table not far from her bed. She used the table as a backrest to stay standing. However, the unbearable pain became more and more gnawing. Danas finally could no longer stand. Slowly, her legs buckled, and she collapsed to the floor.
"Helo, help!" Danas' voice sounded soft. She was still trying to cope with the situation she was in.
"Argh!"
Danas could no longer contain her moans. She moaned in pain with a sound that echoed downstairs.
Danas had never screamed so loudly during her time at Melvin's house. She was someone who had always been mindful of her manners and restrained her emotions. However, this time seemed to be different. The pain Danas felt was really driving her crazy. It was as if something was squeezing her internal organs.
"Aaak!" she screeched as she held her cramped stomach. "It hurts!" Danas began to grimace. "Please, ah, no. Mom, help me!" Danas shouted.
Sweat started pouring down Danas' temples. The woman felt an intense pain in her stomach. She was already curled up limply on the floor.
Meanwhile, Aleta, who was spending time in the lounge room, heard Danas' hysterical screams. The old woman jumped up from the sofa where she was sitting.
Instantly, Aleta's heart raced. She immediately ran to Danas' room. Of course, she was worried about her grandson.
Aleta, who was no longer young, tried to move as quickly as possible. Up the stairs, then into Danas' room. When she arrived at her son-in-law's room, she saw Danas lying on the floor in pain.
"Oh my God!" Aleta shouted in shock at Danas' condition.
"help my baby, Mom. It hurts so much," Danas cried with tears poking out.
The old woman was completely panicked. Her hands were shaking as she looked at Danas who was curled up in pain while holding his stomach.
"Help! Help!"
Aleta shouted very loudly. The servants who heard the old woman's scream stopped what they were doing and rushed to the source of the sound.
"What's wrong, ma'am?" asked one of the maids who had arrived at the scene first.
Aleta's lips were trembling. Her face looked deathly pale and she began to break out in a cold sweat. When the maid arrived, she saw Aleta sitting on the floor with Danas who was cowering.
"Call the car driver. Hurry up... Hurry up!" the old woman shouted to the servant. "Quickly prepare a car for Danas to go to the hospital. Call the security guard to help me lift Danas," Aleta shouted to the workers at the mansion.
"Okay!"
Everyone looked panicked. They quickly carried out Aleta's orders.
The maid ran away in a panic. She immediately told the driver of the car in front that Aleta had called her. The maid also told him what she saw in Danas' room.
It didn't take long for Danas' personal driver to prepare to start the car. Meanwhile, the security guard of the house had already run into Danas' room and carried his mistress who was already limp and unconscious.
The car driver immediately ran into the house. He ran so fast that as he climbed the stairs, it was as if his feet weren't on the steps.
"Madam!"
"Quickly pick her up! Take us to the hospital now!" Aleta ordered.
The car driver carried Danas who was still temporarily in pain. However, the moment the woman was lifted up, her consciousness disappeared. Perhaps because she couldn't bear the pain, Danas fainted.
"Oh my God. How can I do this?" grumbled Aleta, still with a pale face. The old woman was really afraid that something would happen to the child Danas was carrying. She was really looking forward to having a new member in her family.
They finally left Danas's room, went down the stairs, and then immediately headed to the car parked in the front yard.
Aleta, who was still panicking, followed the security guard from behind.
"Put it in the back seat!" she shouted. "Be careful! If anything happens to my grandson, I won't forgive you!" Aleta fumed.
A waiter who had accompanied her to the front opened the car door so the driver could get Danas in. Then Aleta took her cell phone from the room. She also took her wallet and small bag and carried them outside.
She got into the car that was waiting for her. She sat in the back seat and made herself a cushion so that Danas' head could lie down more comfortably. She put on her seatbelt and told the driver to drive the car quickly. Aleta turned her head toward Danas. Seeing Danas' pale face made her panic even more. Aleta's hand couldn't even touch Danas' face without shaking.
Without lingering, they finally left the house and rushed to the hospital.
The incident was really exciting. The housemaids who had been busy doing their respective tasks were forced to stop their activities to find out the origin of the horrendous incident.
A few of them also panicked as they saw the employer's tension. However, there were also those who seemed indifferent.
On the other hand, the perpetrator who caused Danas such pain showed a satisfied smile. Winda, who gave the jackfruit and pineapple juice, was so happy. She thought that the incident was an absolute victory. She couldn't wait to hear the news of Danas's fetal demise.
"Feel it! This way, that woman will definitely be kicked out. Then, I'll have a chance to get close to Mr. Melvin," Winda said to herself.
Her plan came to fruition. It didn't take long, Winda was finally able to get Danas into that state. In fact, Renata, who had been in the house for a long time, had always failed in aborting Danas' child.
This time, people who care about the child Danas is carrying can only pray and hope. Hopefully the woman would not miscarry.
Aleta, who was on the way to take Danas to the hospital, continued to pray. Occasionally the woman also asked the driver to move faster, through the traffic jam.
Aleta was terrified because this was the first time she had seen Danas like that. As she held Danas' hand, she remembered that she hadn't contacted her son yet.
"A, I have to call Melvin."
Aleta looked around for her cell phone that she had thrown into the car. She was so panicked that she no longer cared about the things around her. Not only did she throw the expensive cell phone randomly, she didn't even have time to polish her face with her usual makeup.
Aleta found her cell phone lying on the ground. She grabbed it and immediately searched for Melvin's number. Maybe it was because the critical condition hadn't passed, so Aleta's hands were shaking. She couldn't hold her cell phone properly.
"Oh, God. Help us!" she muttered.
When she found Melvin's number, she immediately called her son. After ringing a few times, a voice came from the other side.
"M-Melvin, Danas..."
