Chapter 65: Chapter 65
Jagad was like a crazy person when he arrived in front of the hospital emergency room. Carrying Danas while shouting.
"Help, nurse! Nurse!" he screeched. Not noticing that the hospital was getting crowded. He almost bumped into everyone who passed by in front of the hospital lobby.
A security guard approached Jagad while carrying a gurney.
Jagad was a little relieved, when a nurse and security guard pushed the gurney into the emergency room, Davina also felt guilty, what was wrong with Danas?
Jagad, who felt like a doctor, also entered the first aid room of the emergency room. But, a nurse prevented him. "Sir, Aplogize. I'll leave it at this point."
"But..." Jagad was really panicking, what to say? His wife wasn't either. So? What right did he have to come in? "She's pregnant!" exclaimed Jagad. He couldn't leave Danas alone in that examination booth.
"Yes sir, we'll be careful." The nurse ushered Jagad to the waiting room, the rhythm of Jagad's breathing not yet under control. "You can wait here," she said, inviting him to sit down. There was Davina who stared wide-eyed at her brother.
"You just wait here," Davina said as she rubbed Jagad's back. "Danas will be fine, the doctor has helped her."
"But she's pregnant," Jagad said unhappily. "What if the doctor inside doesn't know? Then the baby in her womb will be at stake?"
"Jagad, calm down!" exclaimed Davina, her eyes scanning the few people looking in her direction.
"Sis, calm down!" exclaimed Davina, her eyes scanning the few people looking in her direction. Shame! Jagad's voice was loud, surely all the humans around heard it. "Danas will be fine, trust me!"
Jagad exhaled, then took another breath. His body still trembling, Jagad obeyed what his brother said.
"If you calm down, Danas will be fine too."
Jagad nodded, not looking at Davina, just focusing on calming himself down. Still inhaling and exhaling, when a nurse approached Davina and Jagad.
Because of his worry, Jagad stood up quickly. "How is it, Nurse?" he asked directly without further ado.
"Mrs. Danas has been treated by the doctor, she has a seafood allergy. Now, you can go to the administration department, to complete the paperwork." The nurse handed a piece of paper to Jagad. "After a few hours, Mrs. Danas can go home, please fill this prescription first."
"Okay. Can we see how Danas is doing?" asked Davina.
"In a moment, the doctor is checking her pregnancy."
"Yes, Sus," Davina replied.
"If you'll excuse me," said the nurse, smiling and walking away.
"I'll go to the administration room first," Jagad said, and Davina nodded in return.
"Okay, I'll wait here," Davina replied. When Jagad left, Davina hesitated whether to tell Melvin or not. Repeatedly looking at the name in her contact list, Melvin's name Davina selects, then there is an option to call, send a message or video call. Should she call?
"Mrs. Danas' family!" called the nurse at the front of the emergency room.
Davina gasped, immediately putting the phone in her pants pocket. "Yes!" she said, and approached the nurse who called her. "What is it, Sus?"
"Mrs. Danas can be visited, the doctor who examined her earlier wants to talk a little. You are..."
"I'm... her sister," Davina said, the nurse's forehead wrinkling. "Actually, a distant cousin."
"Please, Ms. Danas is inside," the nurse said, making way for Danas to enter the room. The nurse showed her the cubicle where Danas was examined. Davina was quite worried to see Danas' condition, already infused and on oxygen. Her eyes opened, when she saw Davina, Danas' hand raised as if saying 'hallo'.
Danas wanted to get up from her bed, but er body couldn't, it felt very heavy, heavier than usual.
"Danas, you're okay, right?" asked Davina while holding Danas' hand-which looked very weak.
The doctor who examined Danas saw Davina coming. "Who are you?"
"Cousin's," Davina snapped quickly.
"Okay," the doctor flipped through the sheets of paper in his hands. "So. Mrs. Danas has a seafood allergy," the doctor said. His face looked serious. "Did you know you had a seafood allergy before?"
Danas shook her head, wanting to say more. She then removed the oxygen mask that prevented her from speaking.
"I had no problem eating seafood before. And I just experienced an allergy like this," said Danas, her voice still weak.
The doctor who examined him was still listening to what Danas had to say.
They were silent for a while. "Then how is my baby?" Danas asked.
"Fine, thankfully. No need to worry. I'll check again after two hours. If there's no problem, you can go home. Please excuse me."
"Thank you," Davina said earnestly looking into the doctor's eyes.
The doctor nodded and walked away from Davina and Danas.
Jagad soon came to the examination room, his face still showing concern. "What did the doctor say?" he pointed his finger at the doctor who had just left the examination room.
"Danas is allergic to seafood," Davina explained quickly.
"What?" Jagad looked at Danas as if he was going to ask the same question as the doctor. "Has anything like this ever happened before?" his eyebrows knitted together, looking very worried.
Danas then shook her head, still weak, and also giddy, due to the effects of the drugs given.
Jagad sighed, incredulous. "But you know, you almost lost your life because of this allergy."
"Jagad... Danas told me, right, she's never experienced anything like this before."
Jagad finally relented, realizing that his attitude a few seconds ago was annoying.
"At least Danas and the baby are okay. It's not a big deal anymore."
Jagad nodded, agreeing with what Davina was saying. "Can we go home right away? Or do we have to wait for Danas to be treated?"
"Wait a few more hours, the doctor will examine Danas," Davina said again, her tone slightly flat. Staring at Jagad with a slightly cynical smile. Because her brother was too nagging, and this rarely happened. Davina appreciated what Jagad was doing. But this time it seemed to bother her too much.
Jagad relaxed his shoulders, then took a chair and sat around the patient's bed, close to Davina, his sister. "I worried too much, I'm sorry."
Danas smiled at Jagad, then his gaze shifted to Davina. He rubbed the nape of his neck all wrong.
"I've never been like this. I used to have no problem eating seafood," Danas said. "I'm grateful to you," Danas said after a long silence, and now her energy was restored. "I even love seafood, and can eat it every day."
Jagad then touched Danas' hand, "It's okay, it's probably because your pregnancy made your body a bit weak," Jagad said gently and softly.
Davina rolled her eyes, remembering a few minutes ago Jagad was so annoying.
After a while, Danas' condition began to recover. She could already sit on the bed and go to the bathroom. Although Davina continued to worry about Danas' condition and always carried Danas every time she went to the bathroom.
"Davina, rest assured, I'm okay, I can do it myself," Danas said confidently.
"Yes, even though you can be on your own, I'm still worried about your condition."
Danas, meanwhile, became more and more uncomfortable as Jagad watched the movements Danas made."
"Trust me, I'm okay," Danas said once again. "And I can go to the bathroom by myself. You guys just sit here first, maybe wait if I don't come back after a while, then you can look for me."
Jagad chuckled, thinking it was all a joke made by Danas.
The woman then walked away from Davina and Jagad. After all, Danas would eventually feel uncomfortable if she was followed.
The doctor who was going to check Danas' condition came. "I'm back to check on Mrs. Danas," she says, as several nurses push the gynecological examination equipment.
"Are you a gynecologist?" asked Jagad a little suspiciously. Jagad didn't want to miss the examination of Danas.
"Yes, I'm a gynecologist, because your wife is pregnant," said the doctor with a sly smile.
Danas then returned from the bathroom. The specialist didn't want to waste any time.
"Mrs. Danas, we will check again for the last time, if all is well. You can go home," he said.
Danas immediately climbed into the hospital bed. She let the doctor examine her.
"The baby is doing well. So, you can go home today. I'll write a prescription just in case, and what I suggest here is to take vitamins. I'll write a prescription for these vitamins too, so you can take them."
"Okay then, thank you," Danas said with a smile.
The doctor walked away after giving her the prescription paper.
"I'll finish the administrative matters first," Jagad then walked away.
Davina accompanied Danas, until Jagad returned.
