Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Danas was still weak and nauseous, so Melvin did not allow his wife to go to the university. Melvin wouldn't even let Danas do anything but rest in her room.
"Aren't you working?" asked Danas.
Melvin, who had just entered Danas' room while carrying a plate of fruit, immediately got the question.
"I already told Rangga that I won't be going to the office today. I wanted to take care of you today."
Hearing such a thoughtful sentence come out of Melvin's mouth certainly felt foreign to Danas' ears. Danas who was used to Melvin's indifferent and rude attitude really felt awkward in this situation.
The woman tried to get up from lying down as Melvin sat on the edge of her bed. Melvin moved his body forward, making Danas gasp.
"What do you want?" asked Danas as she looked at Melvin's chest.
Melvin blinked his eyes. "I-I want to help you sit up, and leaning on the pillow will be more comfortable, right?" Melvin said as he glanced at his hand that was already touching the edge of the pillow.
Danas followed the direction Melvin was looking at. When she realized that Melvin's hand was pulling on the edge of the pillow, Danas lowered her face in embarrassment.
Damn, how could I have thought that Melvin would hug me, Danas cursed himself.
Melvin placed a wide pillow behind Danas' back. He made sure Danas was comfortable in his seat. After that, he picked up the plate of fruits that he had previously placed on the nightstand.
"You should start eating fruit every morning," Melvin said.
Danas raised his eyebrows. When Melvin handed him a small fork with a piece of papaya on it, Danas looked at the fork in silence.
"How long can you just look at the fork without intending to open your mouth," Melvin said in an annoyed tone. "My hands are already sore," he protested.
"I'll do it," said Danas shaking her head as she grabbed the fork in Melvin's hand.
"Tsk," Melvin clucked, making Danas stop. "Can't you just open your mouth and take a bite from me?" Melvin said again.
Danas lowered her hand and put it back on her thigh. Her head slowly nodded.
Then she started to open her mouth. Danas really felt awkward in this situation. The woman's eyes ran around avoiding Melvin's gaze.
Every time Danas swallowed the fruit in her mouth, Melvin swiftly thrust the fork in front of Danas' lips.
Danas opened her mouth again and took a bite from Melvin.
"Do I have to finish it all?" asked Danas while glancing at the contents on the plate.
Melvin also looked at the plate in his hand. "So what?" asked Melvin.
"I feel full," Danas answered timidly. For all she knew, Melvin would force her no matter if Danas felt tortured or not.
"Oh, well, if you feel full, I'll put this in the fridge, but then you'll have to eat it again," Melvin said as he put down the fork he had picked up.
Danas gaped again. She didn't expect it to be this easy to talk to Melvin.
"Now you rest. If you need anything, tell me," Melvin ordered.
Danas nodded with an unexpected expression on her face. His eyes followed Melvin's movements. The man got up from Danas' bed.
Walked casually to the door, and sank behind the large door of Danas' room.
"This really feels strange," Danas said.

"What are you bringing?" Davina asked Jagad.
The two of them were getting ready to head to Melvin and Danas' house. After getting the news that Danas was pregnant, Davina immediately urged Jagad to visit Danas today.
Jagad couldn't refuse his sister's request who seemed determined to meet his best friend.
"Maybe some fruits," Jagad replied casually as he opened his car door.
Davina also got into her brother's car. "Fortunately, you saw Danas faint yesterday," Davina said as she pulled the seat belt.
Jagad was silent. He remembered the incident where he wanted to meet his brother. He was forced to enter the faculty building where Davina studied. However, before he could go to Davina, Jagad had already met Danas. Unfortunately, it was not a beautiful meeting because Danas suddenly fell unconscious. Jagad immediately took Danas to the hospital.
"But, do you think Melvin will still be rude to Danas?" Davina said again while rubbing her chin.
Jagad let out a long breath. Then he brought his hand to start the car engine and started the four-wheeled vehicle.
"I don't believe so."
It wasn't without reason that Jagad said that to his sister. Jagad could see for himself how worried and happy Melvin looked yesterday at the hospital.
The man even carried Danas very carefully. Melvin's gaze toward Danas softened. And Jagad knew that Melvin was doing all of that without any pretense.
Jagad was happy to see Danas being treated better by Melvin, but he couldn't help but feel jealous at the same time.
Now, Davina and Jagad were sitting in the living room. They were waiting for Danas who was being called by Melvin.
Soon, Danas came with Melvin hugging his shoulder.
There was a whisper from Danas to Melvin that he could walk alone. Instead of letting go, Melvin tightened his grip even more.
"You're still in a weak state, stop protesting," Melvin whispered.
Seeing that scene, Jagad's heart heated up even more. He even threw his gaze in another direction. Davina, who realized this, immediately broke the situation with her loud voice.
"Danas!" Davina exclaimed as she stood up and approached Danas.
When Danas' eyes met Davina and Jagad's, the woman immediately pulled the corners of her lips together. "Hi, Dav."
Melvin brought Danas to sit on the single sofa. Meanwhile, he sat on the edge of the sofa.
Davina took a seat on the long sofa close to the sofa occupied by Danas.
"I was really worried when I heard the news of your fainting yesterday. Why did you insist on going to campus when you weren't feeling well because you were pregnant?"
Danas rubbed the back of her neck. "I'm sorry, yes. I actually didn't know I was pregnant at the time."
On the other hand, Jagad focused on Melvin's hand on Danas' shoulder and rubbed the woman's shoulder gently.
After Davina and Jagad returned, Melvin led Danas back to the room.
With the presence of the baby that Danas is carrying, Melvin pays more attention to Danas who is pregnant, it makes Melvin have less time for Renata.
Renata looked at Danas sarcastically when they passed each other.
"Can't you walk by yourself?" Renata asked Danas.
Danas then tried to break away from Melvin, but Melvin remained in his stance. He held Danas' shoulders.
"Danas is in a weak condition," Melvin said to Renata.
Renata chuckled, folding her hands in front of her chest.
"Does Danas have a serious illness so you've been watching him all morning?" Renata asked back.
Melvin closed his eyes. He didn't want to deal with his girlfriend's annoyance, so he led Danas back. Ignoring Renata who continued to nag.
Renata couldn't accept Melvin's attention to Danas, from the food to Danas' safety.
"Ish," Renata sighed in annoyance while stomping her feet.
Melvin opened the door to Danas' room and pushed it wide.
"You rest back," Melvin said to his wife.
Danas nodded his face.
"Thank you," Danas said briefly.
Melvin furrowed his brow.
"For what?"
"For taking care of me," Danas replied casually.
"That's normal, since you're carrying my baby," Melvin replied. After the man said that, he immediately turned around and walked out of Danas' room.
For unknown reasons, Melvin felt nervous.
That afternoon, Danas woke up from her sleep. She glanced at her tray as she felt like drinking. She hoped there was water on the bed. However, unfortunately Danas didn't find any water there. Making the woman forced to get out of bed.
She opened her bedroom door slowly, then walked casually towards the kitchen. The servant who saw her offered to get it for her.
"Oh, no, I'll get it myself," Danas said.
Then he went into the kitchen. Danas took an empty glass and filled it with water.
Just as he was sipping his drink, from behind the glass Danas saw the presence of Renata who looked at him sarcastically.
"You're not that bad?" Renata said sharply.
"I can indeed walk and do things by myself. Unfortunately, Melvin always insists on helping me," Danas replied.
Danas didn't know where she got the courage to say that to Renata. Renata stepped forward, seeing that Danas felt a little scared. Even so, in her mind she thought that Renata might not do anything against her. Considering Danas is currently pregnant.
However, unfortunately not.
Renata violently pushed Danas' shoulder until the woman fell down.
"Oops, sorry I accidentally nudged you," said Renata while tilting her face.
Danas reflexively held her stomach. She was really surprised that Renata dared to be rude to her.
"Renata!"
And Danas was even more surprised when the booming voice was heard.
Melvin stood in the kitchen doorway with a very obvious angry look.
