Chapter 4: Chapter 4

“You deserve this, you deserve to suffer. You murderer."

Danas shook his head, trying to get rid of what Regan had said last night. Her husband's words threw her off, the accusations that were clearly levelled, she clearly didn't commit.

"I-I'm not a killer," she thought while shaking her head.

The knife in her hand was chopping onions.

"Madam, let me help," asked the middle-aged woman trying to take over what Danas was doing.

"Don't help him." A voice sounded, making the woman immediately lower her head.

"Y-yes, don't help me. I can do it myself,” Danas refused.

Danas looked at the man who had just made that sound. From the stairs he was looking at Danas with a sharp gaze, his hazel eyes were full of hatred, making Danas, behind the kitchen hold the knife handle tightly.

Remembering Regan's treatment of her made her unable to stand what was happening. She wanted to end Regan's accusations against him.

"I'm not a killer," she said firmly. "I do not kill, as you say," she said again.

Regan, who was buttoning up her sleeves, glanced at Danas. The man's smile made Danas immediately swallow her saliva. The man's smile scared her. There is a sense of regret having said that.

"Not a killer?" asked Regan with a crooked smile and looked at Danas.

The girl was frightened by Regan's devilish gaze.

Regan still adjusted his one button, then tightened his tie. His footsteps descended step by step from the stairs, while there was a girl who was scared when she saw him.

"I'm looking to die, I shouldn't have said that," he cursed. "What should I do?" she panicked. “W-what do you want? Stop right there," Danas ordered, but Regan didn't listen.

Instantly he was frightened to see the man come down the stairs and approach him.

“Stop right there, don't come any closer or I—will—kill—”

Seeing the man approaching, his mind immediately thought of injuring himself.

"You want to kill me or want to kill yourself?" Regan asked, smiling crookedly at Danas, making the girl swallow her saliva when her husband found out what he was thinking.

Regan looked at the middle-aged woman who was near Danas, making the woman leave.

Danas's body immediately tensed. How could she not? The man was a meter away from him. Regan glanced at what Danas was doing in the kitchen, then looked at the girl's amber eyes.

Regan still gave him an evil smile. "Don't think stupidly, Danas Cakrawala. Your life is mine.” The man emphasised his last sentence, and she smiled, making the girl in front of him stiffen, clench his fists, and widen his eyes. "You want to kill yourself?" he asked again.

The look on his face instantly changed. Devil!

“Don't expect me to let you die in peace, it's fine for you to want to kill yourself. I will not make you die after what you have taken from me.”

Now his hand was at the base of the girl's neck, Danas immediately closed his eyes, and his breath caught. He was where he wanted to die but wanted to live.

Regan's large hand gripped him, his hand trying to free the burly hand from his neck, but Regan's strength was greater than his.

The man before him was never kind. Tears were now flowing from the corners of his eyes.

"Shit," Regan cursed, releasing his grip. "You put me in a bad mood this morning."

Seeing tears made him let Danas go and walk away from there. He hated that girl. What Danas did was all fake in his eyes. Revenge that made his heart's eyes close.

The sound of the door opening violently and closing surprised the man who had been waiting for him in the car. The man immediately got out of the car and intended to open the rear car door.

But his body was pulled back. "Let me drive myself."

The man wanted to speak, but Regan got ahead of him.

Bang!

He heard the sound of a car door being closed loudly by him, the sound of a car engine. A few moments later, the car drove through the gate.

"I'm sure something must have happened," thought the man.

The neat clothes, black suit, and round glasses he wore didn't make him lose his charm, but the round glasses were his charm. Jefrian—Regan's driver.

On the way Regan hit the steering wheel because he was so annoyed, he occasionally screamed in the street, and when his car had to stop at a red traffic light made him swear.

Everyone who saw the man driving himself upon arriving at the office could only lower their faces in greeting.

Anyone who saw his face would know he was annoyed. Things would go wrong if they offended Regan the slightest bit, thus they were extremely careful.

Regan entered the elevator, from behind the man could be seen a man who was in a hurry to get in, while several people who had been in the elevator from the start immediately got out of the elevator.

The man who came in turned on the iPad he was holding, he did a few slides.

"Today there is a meeting with the client," explained the man who followed him into the elevator.

"Cancel!"

“Lunch together with—”

"Cancel!"

“B-but—” seeing Regan's expression made him discourage him from continuing his words.

Once the schedule was cancelled by his superiors.

“They need me, I don't need them. So, just cancel it, we they don't accept it, cancel cooperation with them, and give a warning so that no company branch cooperates with them."

The man who was holding the iPad and wearing glasses could only swallow his saliva, he stared at the back of his boss.

Regan's words were true, so many people came to him, to make him an investor. Rejecting them was natural for his superiors.

Not a few companies have had their appointments cancelled with the man, getting blacklisted from the list of companies that received funding from Regan because they insisted on meeting the man in person.

"Okay, I will cancel all your schedules today," he continued. "So, I also canceled today's meeting?"

The elevator doors opened, but Regan didn't get out of there either, she just remained silent. "No. The meeting will still be in the office.”

After saying that, Regan stepped out of the elevator. The man followed behind him.

Marvin Jarvis—his assistant, a man who knows all about him besides his friends. That man—Marvin, really liked wearing round glasses, his handsome face didn't diminish when the glasses perched on his nose, but that was the charm of that man.

An innovative, intelligent man who made Raka Regan Mahameru appointed him to be his assistant when he became an OB in Regan's office 5 years ago, and Marvin also proved that he deserves his current position.

Regan took off his coat and set it on a chair.

"Did you get any information on Renata's whereabouts?"
