Chapter 31: Chapter 31

Melvin's torment only stopped when he was satisfied seeing Danas stay downcast with tears in his eyes. He pushed Danas' body roughly onto the bed. "Go to sleep. You need to rest so that you have the strength to fight me again."

Danas couldn't understand that man. One moment torturing her like a grim reaper, the next it was as if he was deliberately stalling her life so he could play with her longer. What kind of psychopath is he?

Without caring about Danas who was still crying numbly on the bed, Melvin left Danas without saying a word. She closed the door roughly. Danas could hear Melvin's footsteps leaving her room.

Without wanting to think anymore, Danas closed her eyes. She wanted to sleep, to forget all the sadness and suffering she had experienced. But, of course, it wasn't a deep sleep that came to Danas. Still, even in her dreams, she was terrified of being chased by Melvin. She was tired, body and soul.

However, it wouldn't be Danas if she couldn't wake up the next day. Early in the morning, Danas was up and ready to go to university. That day she had a busy schedule. From morning to evening and he didn't want to leave it.

Although the university was no longer a pleasant place for her, at least she could find a new atmosphere, and get out of the house that felt like hell.

All day on her university campus, Danas still preferred to be alone, she didn't want to join her friends, on the contrary, no one seemed to want to approach or greet her. Except for Renata, her own enemy.

On the college campus, Renata and Danas met again. They crossed paths when Renata was passing by the park. Danas, who was walking down, realized Renata's presence at the end of the road too late. If she had seen him earlier, she would have chosen to avoid him.

Renata's body was already standing in front of Danas. She haughtily held Melvin back. Her hands were folded in front of her chest while her chin looked up with pride.

"E-eh. Re-Renata," Danas stammered when she realized the girl's presence in front of her. She quickly turned her back but Renata's hand hurriedly caught her.

"Where are you going, bad girl? Scared? Want to leave? Don't expect to!" Renata immediately snapped at Danas.

Being immediately bombarded with intimidating questions made Danas intend to leave. Danas, who didn't want to argue with Renata, chose to continue her steps, but again Renata started it.

Renata blocked Danas again. Her hands were clasped around her waist and she looked at Danas fiercely. She looked at Danas as if she was looking at a mortal enemy that she had to deter.

"Hmm, you think you can get away from me? You can't, Danas. Once a murderer, always a murderer. You will be haunted by me for the rest of your life."

Danas was running out of patience. Now she too stood with her waist girded and stared angrily at Renata. She dares to fight Renata because their physical strength is equal. At least Danas could hit back when Renata had started hitting her.

"I'm already involved in a tragic drama that I don't understand the end of. Keep playing my drama and I'll take my role." Danas ventured to answer Renata's challenge. She stood firmly in front of Renata.

Renata looked away with a dismissive smile. She was sure that Danas would not move if she showed her the evidence of the crimes he had committed.

She took her cell phone from her backpack and opened it. She showed the video she had been using to pressure Danas.

"See all this evidence will disappear along with your disappearance." Renata even threatened that Danas would make the woman disappear from Melvin's life.

"Let's see who's really guilty. Time will tell," Danas retorted boldly. She already had enough of Renata's arrogant attitude.

"Haha! We'll see. I'll make sure you stay away from Danas' life. I'll keep you apart until you can't prove to Melvin who his sister's killer really is."

Danas now understood, apparently, Renata was very scared that she would reveal the real culprit behind Amaira's murder. Renata wanted to get rid of Danas, that way Melvin wouldn't know who really killed Amaira.

"You're saying you're going to make me disappear from Melvin's life? Do it if you still have the guts and energy!" Danas finally replied to Renata's words with no less fierceness.

Danas dared to do that because she knew Renata's threat so far was just a bluff. If she dared to eliminate him completely from Melvin's life.

"Don't you start provoking me, Danas. Obviously, you'll be the one to lose. With the video I showed Melvin yesterday, he won't hesitate to torture you alive. Even though the video I showed you yesterday was just a snippet. He won't know the whole scene."

Danas sighed heavily. She was tired of all Renata's threats. The woman he was dealing with was as cunning as a snake. She pitted herself against Melvin, telling her to leave the man's life. Although in reality, Melvin himself didn't want Renata to leave before he was satisfied punishing her physically and mentally.

"Renata, let me tell you one thing. If you two hate me so much and want to get rid of me from this world, you should be united. Why are you always playing alone and pressuring me secretly behind my husband's back? Is your relationship okay?"

Asked like that, Renata's mouth trembled with anger. Her hands were clenched tightly. She hated hearing Danas call Melvin husband.

"One more time you say he's your husband, I'll hit and grab you. I'll humiliate you!" threatened Renata as she rushed forward and now her body was clashing with Danas.

Danas smiled faintly, she too was starting to learn to be sadistic towards her two enemies. The trick worked this time. Renata was furious and jealous when Danas put the title husband behind Melvin's name.

"Hmm, he's my legal husband. So, what can you do?" Danas challenged Renata even more. She already thought, if there had to be another fight, she couldn't prevent it.

Renata's breath sounded rushed to hold back her anger. Her chest was rising and falling irregularly. Her eyes stared intently at Danas. "I won't let you go!"

Jagad, who also happened to be passing by the place, was shocked when he heard Danas' fear. "What joke is this again? Melvin is Danas' husband? Didn't she say something wrong?!"

Jagad was still standing where he was, and he even deliberately stepped aside a little behind a lush shrubbery so that Danas and Renata wouldn't be seen. Jagad continued to eavesdrop on their debate as he continued to think.

"Melvin said his sister was killed by her own wife, and that wife was Danas? I can't believe it!"

Jagad's mind was racing. He didn't know the complexity of the problems faced by Danas, a woman he secretly admired. How could a woman as beautiful and kind as she become a murderer?

Jagad was seen frowning his forehead until it was furrowed violently. He listened to everything said by Danas and Renata. " I've got to uncover this fact. I still can't believe that Danas is a murderer. It must be all their tricks!"
