Chapter 30: Chapter 30
"Why didn't you say you were ambushed by the neighborhood thugs?" asked Melvin as he approached Danas. The look in his eyes was deep and frightening.
Danas hurriedly got up from her seat and looked down. She didn't dare to meet Melvin's eyes. She turned her head toward Christina but she had already disappeared behind the kitchen door.
Melvin walked closer and closer until he stood directly in front of Danas. His body, which was taller than Danas, seemed to be preparing to threaten her and make her unable to move. Danas felt her guts shrinking.
"Why don't you answer my question?" Melvin started yelling, his voice so loud that it made Danas jump in surprise.
Danas' mouth, however, was still locked tight. She didn't want to answer Melvin's question. She even looked away, unwilling to make eye contact.
Watching Danas' behavior, who could only remain silent, made Melvin's anger start to flare up. He roughly grabbed Danas' chin and turned it upside down. "You didn't hear me, huh?!"
Danas was now forced to meet the man's eyes. She saw Melvin's savage eyes like those of a wolf about to eat its prey. Danas shuddered in horror.
"How did you almost get raped by that neighborhood thug? Did you deliberately pass by a deserted road? Or did you intentionally invite danger?!"
An absurd question that Danas couldn't help but reply to. If she had known that she would be targeted by those thugs, she wouldn't have taken that road. Melvin also thought she was the one inviting danger. What kind of question is that?
Looking at Danas who was still in a thousand danger, Melvin then violently released her chin. He was still standing right in front of Danas. Both hands were now crossed on his chest.
Melvin waited for Danas to make a sound, at least a word to reply to all his anxiety and anxiety throughout the day. However, Melvin's prediction was wrong again.
Danas still kept her mouth shut tightly. Not only that but when she saw Melvin caught off guard, she moved quickly out of the room to her own room. Melvin, who was surprised, grabbed Danas' hand and prevented him from leaving but Danas hurriedly shook it off.
"Hey, you! Shit!"
But the woman didn't care. She continued walking regardless of Melvin's call. Danas entered the room and intended to close the door.
Melvin's hand reached out to hold the door. He didn't accept being treated by Danas like that. He followed her into her room. Melvin then entered the room and interrogated Danas again.
Danas felt that her whole body was now covered in a cold sweat. Melvin walked up to her as if he was ready to pounce on her. The look in his eyes was still the same, cruel and wild. Danas reflexively stepped back but Melvin continued to close in on him.
Danas couldn't move anymore when her body hit the wall. Melvin's burly hands stretched out and locked onto Danas, leaving him nowhere to go. "You wanna piss me off?"
Melvin whispered in a threatening voice in Danas' ear. Danas spontaneously shook her head. Her tongue felt too weak to speak, and her throat was dry.
"I ask you again, why didn't you tell me that you were almost raped by that thug!" Melvin asked while glaring at her. It was as if Danas wanted to be swallowed whole.
Danas could no longer ignore Melvin's question but answered in a high tone, "Isn't there no benefit for you to know? You must be happy to hear it."
Getting an answer like that, Melvin became angry. His jaw hardened, his molars grinding. He lowered his head briefly before bringing his face closer to Danas' until he was only inches away.
"How many of you are fighting me now, huh?!" said Melvin with an intense gaze, as if he wanted to swallow Danas whole.
"N-no. You forced me to answer. Even though it's obvious if I'm harmed you're happy. So, what do you care?" Danas tried to find the courage to answer Melvin's question.
In reality, Danas felt her whole body turning cold and trembling. She was cornered like a hunted animal that had walked into a trap.
"Hah! Of course, I care. You've got to suffer but I'm the only one who can make you suffer, no one else. You got it?"
What kind of answer was that Danas did not understand this monster's way of thinking at all? He really wanted to make her suffer but with his own two hands. Is that so?
"Are you really human or not? If you're human, why do you behave exactly like a demon?" That sentence finally came out of Danas' mouth after she could no longer bear the feeling of hatred in her heart.
Being asked like that Melvin's lips wore an even more frightening grin. In front of his quarry as if he still wanted to continue playing around while torturing him. "What do you think I am? A demon. That's too much praise for me. I still have a little pity for you."
Tears could not stop flowing from Danas' eyelids. She didn't know how to deal with the most terrifying demon anymore. "Kill me, just stab me if you want. I'd rather die than continue to be tortured like this."
Danasa closed her eyes and surrendered. She felt so sad and disappointed that she thought it was better to die than to continue living the hard and miserable life she had to go through every day.
"Listen to me, little devil. I won't let you die so easily. I've got my own way of having fun by making you suffer. I won't let you die before I'm satisfied making you in pain."
Danas' body was shivering with fear and pain. Tears continued to stream down her cheeks but Melvin had no pity for her at all. For him, Danas' tears were the part that the woman had to make up for.
"Cry, even until your tears dry up, or turn into tears of blood. Don't expect me to pity you." Melvin's voice sounded like a dagger that pierced right into Danas' heart.
"W-what exactly did I do wrong that you hate me so much? You tortured me like boiling me alive over boiling water." Danas said stammeringly while biting her lip.
Melvin tilted his head to look at Danas. A lopsided smile returned from there. He knew his victim was close to giving up, but he didn't want to just let her go. He enjoyed moments like this.
"You can't pretend to be an innocent and stupid, little devil. You think what you've done is no more evil than what I did to you? I'm still so kind to you."
Melvin snorted in annoyance reminding Danas that he had committed a grave sin that he could never forgive. The thing that Danas had never done until now.
"You've misunderstood me. I don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about."
Melvin growled, lifting Danas' face again. This time with both hands holding his neck. Danas felt like his life was on the line. Melvin's strong grip on his neck was painful.
"I can never be fooled by your innocent face. I can't take the wrong step either. You, are my enemy that I've taken prisoner. The end of your life will be far more tragic than that of my sister whose life you took."
Danas fell silent. Whatever she told Melvin right now must be wrong. That man had his eyes and heart darkened.
"Torment me to your heart's content, but remember the old law of sowing, Melvin! I'm sure karma is never misplaced when it comes to you."
