Chapter 98: Chapter 98

Leandro could not describe what he was feeling right at the moment.

"Enzo, I need to know everything there is to find," Leandro uttered with a fierce tone.

"Yes, Master," Enzo replied mannerly.

The assistant was fully aware that his Master does not like betrayals of any kind. What appeared with Anna and that man, Charles Anderson, somehow showed a faint shadow of the girl turning against her boss. Had it been somebody else involved, Leandro would never hesitate to label Brianna Peters as a traitor and cannot be trusted with his grandson's life. In fear that she will do the same thing she did to her previous Master or employer, one day.

"I want to know what made her turn against her superior or comrades. From what I see in her, she has more than words to justify her actions," Leandro was not sure if he was trying to convince anyone else than himself with what he said.

But Enzo actually has the same thoughts. In his reading from Anna's character, although he has not seen much yet, Enzo could tell that there might be a form of betrayal but Anna is the victim and so she is expressing her retaliation.

Enzo turned his gaze to Anthony.

"Are you sure these were all there is to find?" Enzo asked with a frown and disbelief. He felt like it was a joke. A person like Anna or Brianna Peters won't have so little if one is to dig deeper. There might even be things that she is not aware of herself but someone else knew too well.

Anthony scratched his head. He could not look at Enzo directly in the eyes so he exhaled deeply and opened a hidden window on his computer screen.

"Ahhhh, there is something I found but I have tried every code I knew, I couldn't break in to have a glance at this file," the youngest IT staff raised both his hands in surrender and rub them together after. He was nervous. "I was thinking about cracking the firewalls first and getting the information before I tell you about it, but you asked too early," Anthony added.

Enzo scoffed. He sarcastically looked at Anthony and with noticeable disdain, the Mafia King's assistant sneered at the young man.

"Do we have only you here to do this? If you cannot break in, does it mean we have to wait until you do and not ask for everyone else to extend a hand and deal with the issue?" Leandro's voice sounded like a fierce beast roaring inside the room.

"I want all of you to take this matter as important as your jobs. If you want to keep working for me, you do not let greed and self-praise rule over your smart minds, because I can easily replace you."

Leandro could not hold his temper. He was agitated that the person he was starting to like so much turned out to be someone with an issue he cannot take lightly. Leandro wants and demands loyalty from anyone under his command. Their lives are in constant danger due to the dirty tricks of the rivals in the underworld. And Leandro makes it clear from the very first day. Aside from being clear about honesty, Leandro is the first one to practice such rules.

Just as he always tells his grandson, Lucien, respect is earned, one cannot demand something some others when it doesn't show within himself. May it be of any kind of emotions. Loyalty and honesty cannot exist without respect. These are the most basic needs in building a connection with anyone in the underworld-related environment. Leandro respects his people and loyalty and honesty follow that to create a firm and unshakable foundation from every side, as well as from the least to the highest position there is.

"We are a team here, we have each other's back. My grandson's life is in the hand of this person, so we have to know everything there is to know, concealed or revealed, about her," Leandro added. He stood from his seat to walk around the whole room. He wanted and he needed to see each one's face as he gave his heart's honest contents.

"Anthony is young and new, I will overlook at this one time mistake. But the moment the same situation happens again, I am not sure I can still tolerate such foolishness. Do I make myself clear?" asked Leandro Michaelson loudly.

Everyone in the room replied with equal firmness of their voice as to their Superior.

"Yes, sir!"

Unknown to Leandro and Enzo, Anthony is the best among their IT staff. He is the Ace, the most advanced and the most up-to-date, more than anyone in the room right now. No one among the staff could voice that fact out, but no one dared to disobey either. They gathered around Anthony's desk but it crowded him so the staff head ordered for everyone to get back to their desks and Anthony will share the whole data with everyone around. See and try if they can help Anthony crack the code or break into the protecting firewall of this file.

While Leandro Michaelson's IT team was busy trying to hack into a file. Jack was also busy finding a way on how to get in touch with his little sister, Brianna. He was also tracking Charles Anderson's phone call logs to trace where the family of the mercenary team was being held as hostages to do this task Charles Anderson wants his team to execute. Jack was multi-tasking, he also has another screen where he is trying to dig deeper into what happened to Brianna's parents way more than a decade ago.

"Who the hell is trying to break into B's file?" Jack Foster frowned in disapproval. He shook his hands and in a matter of moments, he was tracing the IP address of the party who had been trying to break into Jack's protective firewall on Brianna's file.

"Aha! Gotcha!"

Jack paused for a while. Shocked, he felt fear for Brianna.

"What the hell is going on? Why are they trying to dig more into what is revealed in her credentials?" Jack was bothered. "Are they trying to prove something about her identity? Are they suspecting her for anything unwell?"

Questions after questions filled his mind and rumbled out of his mouth.

"Brianna... Brianna... Please tell me what on earth is going on?" Jack closed his eyes in despair. He cannot let Brianna fight alone, but how can he be of help? He was not sure how to give his hand and if she would even take it if he extended his help.
