Chapter 161: Chapter 161
Despite Jack being busy on the phone speaking with Blake, Brianna knew what she was walking into. She had already noticed that a man was seated next to a wall on her way to get to Lucien. And she was also aware that the man was expecting her arrival as there was a glass wall that showed her reflection.
She was geared for battle so the opponent could make a wild guess of her identity that she was after the man in their captivity. Silly for him, he did not inform his comrades about the person stealthily walking into their lair. He was too confident he could handle the situation by himself as he could see the person was a woman. The man must have neglected the fact that if he could see the other person in the mirror, in the reflections, he could also be seen by the other party. And Brianna did. She saw the man preparing himself to attack her if she got too close to his reach, so she deliberately slid her way to get the man with her bare hands and shoot him with a silenced gun.
That was what Jack saw. The moment Brianna slid down which in Jack's eyes, she fell down before her enemy. He froze and paled. He felt his soul left him momentarily in so much worry, but when he saw the other person roll off on B's side, Jack realized she was safe. He fell down on his seat weakly, and his senses started to recover. He heard Blake still shouting at him.
"God damn it, Jack! Tell me what is going on?"
"All good, all good! B is fine. She is kicking asses in there!" Jack reported.
They all seem to have the same worry when it comes to Boss B. They are aware she is more than capable of everything, but even the thought of her getting hurt or in trouble makes them all feel panicked to the highest level. She is a person most if not all of them owed more than a lifetime loyalty, and so no one will be comfortable to hear she was in danger.
And panicked soldiers won't do good in any battle. Jack knew he had to restore their confidence and perseverance.
"But you still need to get there as soon as possible, Blake Gordon. She will only take the young Michaelson out of the warehouse, and you guys will have to deal with other things. Lucien is tied up, but there are not many people around visible through the drone's camera. We cannot be sure how many opponents B has inside the warehouse. You hurry, guys! Boss B will need your help greatly! Secure B's way out." Jack expressed the urgency and direness in his words to fuel the bravery of Brianna's men.
"We're almost there!" Blake replied snappily.
Jack was right. Brianna was not sure how many men were guarding Lucien, but she saw him on her phone screen already. Lucien was tied into a chair which was also tied into a steel pillar. She knew where to find him, but getting close to Lucien was trickier. She was still by the entrance area while Lucien was being held in the center part of the warehouse. She had to think fast. There was no way to check the count of people inside the place with so many floor-to-ceiling steel racks.
Brianna looked up. The ceiling was uncovered! She quickly looked around for possible ways to get up there and look down at the area. She needed to see the panorama of the whole warehouse. By doing so, she would get the most effective and the most efficient idea on how to get Lucien out of there without creating so much attention from their foes.
It didn't take so much time for Brianna to find a way to do what she had in mind. She climbed her way up to the ceiling like a cat. Totally soundless.
"They must have sent the employees away today," she murmured.
Brianna noticed only a few men were guarding the whole area. Maybe their leader is coming at lunch because she heard them get the order to bring their target somewhere at lunch.
"Too bad I am not waiting for hours to do what I came here to do."
But someone must have had the place under surveillance. They must have seen or known that Lucien Michaelson was already in the warehouse, captured. Armed men started to fill the place from every corner. To Brianna's surprise, there were more than fifty men surrounding Lucien. Not looking at him but spread out as if they were getting themselves ready for any expected attack.
"What the hell is going on?" Brianna murmured.
She knew her men, as well as the Michaelson's men, would be here soon. But looking at the turn of events right in front of her eyes, she realized the men in the warehouse were expecting such things to happen. Or maybe they are expecting that Leandro Michaelson would not stay idle and leave his only grandson in the hands of his enemy. So they were expecting Leandro Michaelson to send his security team and rescue Lucien. They were not aware of the collaboration between Big B and Leon Michaelson. Brianna used a binocular to get a better look at the face of the man giving orders to the other men around Lucien.
"He isn't someone I know from the politic world," Brianna murmured again. She zoomed her lenses in and took a picture of what she saw. Then she pressed the send button. The pictures were received by Leandro's IT team and Jack Foster.
The latter scanned the images and dug for more information. Jack found out the man was from Terrence Clayton's payroll. And the men surrounding Lucien were also trained like the Michaelson's private army.
The men who had Lucien were confident with their ground in the battle. The only loophole in the situation is Brianna being already inside the premises without the opponents knowing it.
Jack continued to update her of what was going on with their men on the mission. At the same time, Brianna was feeding Jack and Leandro with what she could see from her position.
"The best solution I can think might not be agreeable," Brianna softly uttered.
"What is it?" Leandro asked calmly on the line.
The old man was worried to the deepest pit of his heart, knowing Lucien was in his enemy's hands, but he did not let his fear win over him. If living up to this age had taught him something, it is to stay calm even in the most pressuring, most challenging moments. He will not get to decide and see things clearly if his emotions cloud his judgment. He was keenly watching on his monitor, just like he did when Lucien went to rescue Anna.
"You may not like it, Don Leon," Brianna kept her tone. "But believe me, if there is any other way you can suggest we do to get Luci out of their hands, I am open for suggestions. It's just that we don't have much time," she added.
"I can make a clear shot to bring the leader down with a single bullet, but it will start a riot from his men, and Luci might get into a bigger trouble."
Brianna used the endearment Don Leon would use to his grandson to express her familiarity with Lucien. It made Leandro feel the two are too close to hear Anna calling Lucien in a name the young Michaelson does not allow just anyone to call him.
"I understand what you mean. Now I am more curious about your idea in mind," Leandro replied helplessly.
"We can take them by surprise if you attack with teargas. It will make the place blurry, and I might get my chance to grab Luci while everyone is panicked. I have a gas mask, but I need another one for Luci. He might faint if he inhaled too much gas, and it would be difficult for me to take him out unconscious."
"Our every move must be under their watch, so we cannot act rashly. If they see any one of our men approaching the warehouse vicinity, they might threaten to hurt my boy," Leandro said his thoughts out loud.
"Can you think of an idea to create a diversion while Blake makes his way to my spot and bring me what we need?" Brianna asked.
"You can try making a call to Lucien," Jack suggested.
Everyone concerned, along with the team leaders of each rescue party, were listening to the conversation between Brianna, Jack, and Leandro. Blake heard his name, so he was getting ready. He secured two gas masks, one for him and the other for Lucien.
"I can guide Blake to get here the way I did. One man won't be noticeable. Just be careful on your way here, Blake," Brianna ordered.
"Yes, Boss!"
