Chapter 150: Chapter 150

"Not that I am scared because I am okay to die as long as it's with you by my side, but I suggest you slow down, B…abe!" Lucien yelled as he slid to the door side of his seat beside Brianna. They were passing by a sharp curb on the road, but the person behind the steering wheel did not adjust the speed to slow. The speed was not comparable to one on a race, and for the person holding the steering wheel, it wouldn't be anything noticeable, but to the one seated on the passenger's seat, the velocity would make the person slide to the sides, according to the car's movements.

"Babe?!" Brianna sneered. "Do I look like a cute little pig to you, huh?"

Brianna won't feel offended with being called Bitch since her enemies would usually know her name as B, Big B, or Boss B, but she does not like being called Baby because it doesn't fit her; no baby should live the life she is having. That is just unforgivable. And Babe is a movie she enjoyed watching for quite some time as she tried to understand the possibility of the movie happening in reality. She was so curious to understand if animals really do communicate and see what she can learn from their techniques which basically is from nature, intuition, and instincts. Brianna realized in her younger years that existing creatures, animals and humans, have their inborn impulse or motivation to action typically performed in response to specific external stimuli. And it was one of her self-motivation techniques. If animals have their way to get through with every danger life presents them, she believed she has a higher intellectual intelligence to surpass any obstacle.

Jack thought Brianna found the movie cute as she was a teenage girl when she asked Jack to download the film for her and watched it countless times, especially after a bad day, which was almost every day. Also, Brianna did not bother explaining to him, so Jack believed what he thought was right. So he would tease Brianna once in a while by calling her Babe. And the latter would feel like she was being looked down on as a pig.

The car was out of the curb road, and Lucien was able to sit properly again. He saw the sneer in Anna's face having heard being called Babe. He ignored her reaction and decided to be brazen even more.

"Did you just call me Babe right now?" Lucien pretended Anna said the word first.

"No, you did! I just asked, who is your Babe," Brianna did not even look at Lucien as she answered with her teeth clenched.

"You. Who is your Babe?" Lucien mimicked her words, annoying her to respond the way he wished she would.

Brianna was so annoyed that she did not want to say anything but a single word came out of her mouth in nuisance.

"You…" She warned.

"So that would mean you are my babe, and I am your babe, right?" Lucien stated with a cheeky face.

The car made a loud screech as Brianna stepped on the brakes so suddenly. Lucien almost brushed his face on the windshield if it wasn't for the safety belt buckled in his seat. The vehicle made an abrupt stop.

Brianna took a deep breath before speaking in a dangerously slow voice.

"Get out!"

Lucien bit his lips. He observed Anna's face very carefully, calculating if he still had a chance to keep his post beside her.

"I'm sorry, I promise to behave. I won't say anything unless you ask me, I swear!"

It was all he said. Then he sat properly as if he was not the same person who was making fun of Anna just a very short while ago. His face was serious, like a soldier going to a war. He avoided eye contact with Anna in fear he would burst out chuckling again. But he could tell from his peripheral vision that Anna was deadly glaring at him. He did not even blink. He looked straight upfront to the dark road with only the headlight from their ride illuminating the path.

"I am telling you to get out because the next time, I might no longer think before pulling a trigger on you, do you understand?" Brianna asked, still with the same low but scary-cold tone.

"I understand!"

Brianna was feeling even more regretful letting this idiot tag along. He is the worst distraction for her. It's because Lucien doesn't seem to fear for his life when he is around her. Brianna cannot understand what makes this silly man so confident she will spare him. No one, not even Jack, had ever dared to be bold and audacious around her because those who did, regretted such a mistake as they ended up with broken ribs and bones. Some endured wounds from her knives and from bullets, too. Because Brianna would not hesitate to throw whatever is in her hands or anywhere nearby to dart or swing when she is provoked. And it would be in a flash.

Soon, they arrived at the location.

The whole place was quiet. It was already midnight. Brianna knew every corner of the area as she studied the entire map and blueprint of the house. It was a property with an expansive yard. The structure of the house was made of stone and very old. It appears to have been left to look old from the outside, although Brianna saw how elegant the house looked in its interior from a tiny drone camera.

"This way," she led Lucien to the west side of the concrete fence. The fence was two meters tall with broken glasses on the top. She had a rope on her waist, but she did not use it to climb up the wall. She jumped her way up and, with the rope unfolded from its roll. She used it to atop the broken glasses on the top surface of the wall so Lucien could grab a hold.

Lucien was about to ask how she made such a quick move, but before a word left his mouth, someone came over to his side to assist him up, while Brianna was hanging on the wall waiting to grab his hands up. '

"Thanks, buddy!" Lucien whispered to the soldier who came to help him by lending his shoulder for Lucien to step on and climb up after Anna.

"Tell me again, why the hell did I agree to tag along?" Brianna groaned as she jumped down to the other side of the wall. Into the yard of her target. She dusted her hands and collected the rope to put it on its holder back again.

"Because I am your Babe?" Lucien replied calmly as he helped Anna secure the rope on her waist by the back. His voice sounded serious.

"If you are my Babe, I doubt it I will even take you anywhere," Brianna shook her head.

This man was clearly unaware of what Babe meant to her, but she was not feeling obliged to elaborate. She looked around. The Dobermans were all calm, not asleep but not wildly reacting to Brianna and Lucien's presence. It was because they were shot with calming meds.
