Chapter 140: Chapter 140

Brianna made sure she was wearing the spy mic and earpiece Jack gave her before he left, after washing up and doing her morning rituals in the washroom. She even told Jack about listening to her conversation with anyone while she stays at the Michaelson's. She was not sure what she would find out when she gets out of the room she was occupying, so she asked for Jack's assistance. She clearly told Jack what to do.

"Check the authenticity of whatever information I give you; I will ask or repeat the statement. That would be your hint."

She was thinking about looking around and checking things for her understanding. She asked Jack to deepen the information she needed on everything.

"Feed me the information to testify or clarify anything they would try to tell me. You will be my eyes looking at the view from a wider range and see the panorama of everything."

Brianna also made herself clear that if ever Jack makes a fool out of her, she won't wait for the doctor's permit to let her out of the room; he knows what will happen to him.

"B!" Jack yelled, hurt and aggrieved. "You know I will never do that!"

"I know, but just in case you are forgetting, I am just reminding you," she replied indifferently.

She came out of the washroom, ready to eat at the dining area to have a good look at her surroundings. Lucien seemed to have jumped up from his seat when he saw the bathroom door open. He immediately ran to assist Anna with the IV stand rolled it out of the washroom and to the side of the bed.

Clark walked behind the two with the medical tray in his hand, about to hand them to Lucien. But the latter thought he was going to do his physician duties and clean Anna's wound.

"Just leave it there; you can wait outside the door. We will be out as soon as I'm done dressing her wound," Lucien stated formally as he helped Anna sit comfortably on the bed.

"I know," Clark replied shortly.

He was no longer affected by Lucien's attitude towards him. He was about to leave the room after placing the tray on the bedside table. But Anna called for him.

"Doctor, hmm... What's his name again?" Briana asked Lucien.

"His name is Clark Jacobs," Lucien replied gently.

Brianna nodded, then she called for the doctor again.

"Doctor Jacobs..."

"Yes, Anna. What can I do for you? Do you need anything? Do you want me to change the bandages for you?" Clark asked eagerly. He was excited to hear Anna speak to him, not Lucien alone. His questions came one after another, unmindful that none of them was getting any answer as he was asking too rapidly.

Lucian was staring and glaring at him.

"What I am just asking her," Clark reasoned out.

"She doesn't need you to change her bandages, okay?" Lusion answered with his clenched teeth.

"She called for me," Clark retorted.

"She called you, but that's not the reason for sure. Right, Anna?" Lucien turned his confident gaze at Brianna.

Jack, who was listening to their conversation, was chuckling as Clark sounded silly to him.

Brianna covered her face, and she groaned for Jack to her. Whispering, "Shut up!" muffled by her hands, but jack confirmed he got her words when he apologized and promised to keep quiet. Although his voice still sounded amused and having fun listening to the conversation, he could grasp from Brianna's end.

Brianna did not know if she should be annoyed at the two bickering man right in front of her. They were like kids. But she could sense that Clark was intentionally upsetting Lucian. She didn't know why, but she felt the urge to take Lucy inside.

"Doctor Jacobs, I would like you to remove the drips off of me. That's the reason why I called for you," Brianna stated after clearing her throat. She did not make her words ambiguous. They were said with calmness, frankly, and straightforward. No signs of taking Lucien's side. No signs of being against Clark, either. She simply stated what she thought she should say.

Then she turned to Lucian.

"If you really want to change the bandages, then we can wait until the good doctor here removes the drips," Brianna stated.

"Okay, I understand. Doctor Jacobs, please..." Lucien gave the orders.

"Anna, keeping it this way would help you recover even faster. To Drain the poison out of you. And rehydrate your body," Clark tried to explain the benefits of not removing the IV fluids off of her as she requested.

"If I can have my food at the table, I believe I can have that rehydration by other means. This thing is only good when the patient cannot move around when the patient is unconscious. Or if the patient needs constant medication. It would be efficient and advisable," Brianna argued. But in my case right now, I don't think I need this. I will sit at the table to have my breakfast. I can drink water in a cup. If there is any medication, I can take it orally. So tell me, what is so important with the drips that I can't take it off?"

Clark was taken aback by how Anna spoke so straightforwardly. None of her statements were vague or wrong. They were all precise, positive, and correct, actually.

In Anna's perspective, she didn't want to walk around with a rolling IV stand beside her. She didn't want to move with so much baggage. Besides, it wasn't that necessary. She wants to walk around. Even from the room's distance to the table, she wanted to check her body recovery according to her personal opinion. She wanted to check if she could walk briskly if she could move as fast as she used to. Or how quickly she wished to move. So even if this doctor declines her idea and her request. Brianna was actually going to rip it off by herself. She just made it formal in respect to the doctor. But if he declines. She was not going to stay obedient only if she gets denied.

Clark was speechless. He looked at Lucien; his eyes silently asked the latter what to do?

Lucien, who was looking at Clark, turned his head to look at Anna.

"Anna, Are you sure about this?" The young Michaelson asked.

"Yes, I am very much sure," Brianna answered with a firm tone. Assuring the certainty in her words.

"Doctor Jacobs, please do as she says. I am afraid, with how she speaks, if you don't do it for her, she's going to do it all by herself," Lucien stated.

Brianna did not show any signs of surprise, but she was inwardly astonished. This young Michaelson seems to know her. They have just been together for a short time. How could he do such things? Even Jack, who had been with her ever since her childhood, could not tell her thoughts easily. How could Lucien Michaelson do so? But Brianna just gave a curt nod to express she appreciated the boss' orders given to the young doctor.

Clark moved to do as told. The patient has the right to decline such opinion's from medical practitioners, but most of all, Clark complied because he did not want to annoy Anna. He is honestly scared of her. She is just too fierce.

"Okay, since you asked for it. I will remove them for now, but in case you want them back later tonight or when you take your rest, don't hesitate to tell me or anyone on the medical team. Okay?" Clark spoke with clarity.

"Thank you," Brianna replied

Clark did remove the drip tubes, then he excused himself to dispose of the used medical items also, for Lucien to do what he had to do.

"I'll be right outside," Clark said.

"Thank you," Brianna replied

Lucian did not say anything, but he nodded to Clark. Soon, Lucien focused on cleaning, disinfecting, and dressing Anna's wound.
