Chapter 120: Chapter 120

Tatum Elliott led Jack Foster to a room not too far from where Brianna was having her rest. Along the way, he signaled for one of their men to come over and ordered the man to stay with Jack Foster.

"Do not let him out of your sight, clear?" Tatum ordered.

"Yes, sir!" The man takes Tatum as their senior ever since he took the lead on their mission earlier.

Tatum left, and only the guard and Jack Foster remained inside the room. Silence filled the whole room.

Jack was deep in thoughts about everything he heard from the old Michaelson. He sat on the bed, and with his elbows above his thighs, he grabbed on his hair as he tried to rake his brains. His mind was filled with thoughts like;

"What did he mean by helping Brianna find out about the people who killed her parents? Wasn't it Leandro Michaelson? He is the reason why B applied to work for Lucien Michaelson so that she could get closer to her enemy. But he didn't seem to be faking his concerns to help B. He even seemed furious I was doubting."

Jack groaned in frustration. He could not understand why Leandro Michaelson was reacting the way he did. The old Michaelson did not look any way guilty; more surprisingly, he wasn't bothered about the topic at all.

"What is going on? And who is someone that know that knew Brianna and her family back then?"

Jack rubbed his palms on his face as he sighed.

"What the hell did Charles make us believe. Or what did he make Brianna believe all this time?"

All of Jack's actions were keenly watched by Leandro from a portable screen as he sat along with Lucien in the room where Anna was. They were puzzled at how the man, Jack Foster, looked like as he seemed to be in deep thoughts about something so important. It was too unfortunate that even though there was a microphone along with the monitoring cameras in the room, Jack was only murmuring his words. The Michaelson's could not make clear sounds of what he was talking about.

"What do you think is he talking about?" Asked Lucien to his grandpa. Assuming the old man talked with the other guy, Lucien was hoping his grandpa had an idea.

"I wish I knew the answer to that, my boy," Leandro sighed. "He seemed torn about something he could not speak about. I am not so sure, but it felt like he looked at me with intense hatred. I haven't seen him before; I am not sure if he knew me or if I have done anything to be hated by him," Leandro frowned as he looked at the guy on the screen.

"There is one way to find out, or two, I guess," Lucien exclaimed in a controlled tone.

"How?" the old Michaelson asked with eagerness.

"Let Enzo deal with him," Lucien chuckled.

Leandro's eyes widened, then he smiled as he nodded his head in delight. He quickly pulled his phone and dialed.

"Or..." Lucien blurted.

Leandro paused in his moves, and his eyes flew towards Lucien.

"Or...? Or what?" the grandpa asked.

"Or we can ask grandpa Andy to speak together with this guy," Lucien casually replied.

"Hmmm? Why is that?" Leandro wondered.

"I heard this guy speak with Anna over the phone before they asked for help with a chopper to rescue the families of Anna's comrade. He must have realized that Anna has lost her memory," Lucien spoke with clarity, not rushed or pressured.

"And...?"

"And he mentioned he had always been with Anna ever since she was a kid. We can ask Grandpa Andy about Anna's family and what happened before the tragedy, and then we can ask this Jack about Anna's life as she grew up," Lucien stated his thoughts.

"I will call Andy right now. He might still be on his way back to the camp," Leandro hurriedly called.

"Don Leon!" Andy greeted with amusement as he chuckled. "I feel so honored to be missed by you so soon," he laughed as he spoke.

"I have someone here who grew up with Anna after her parents' tragedy. The whole time you were searching, this guy was with her, growing up together. Would you like to talk to him, like right now?" Leandro could not hide the eagerness. He was asking, but his tone was somehow demanding.

"Absolutely, yes! We are going back," Andy spoke to Leandro with his eyes looking at the soldier driving through the rearview mirror. "What he knows might be more beneficial than what I might find out after digging."

"We will wait for you," Leandro declared before they cut the call.

Andy was also excited to hear about Little Liz's life after she went missing and nowhere to be found. It had been such a mystery how a little girl had vanished with no one seeing her anywhere around the vicinity. They even broaden the range of their search. He had doubts that she did not go missing, leaving her grandparents' house all by herself, but Andy had no way to check thoroughly. He had doubts someone was tampering with the investigations, but he had no way to prove his suspicions.

They were almost by the gates of their destination when Leandro called, and some of their watchmen from the camp must have noticed their vehicle coming but saw it made a turn. A soldier called Andy. He saw the caller id said it was

his second in command. Andy did not dally to inform his men.

"I need to get back to the Michaelson's; you take charge here, clear?"

"Yes, sir!"

Then Andy ordered the soldier behind the wheel to take him to Lucien's villa as fast as possible. It was already late in the night. The roads were almost empty, and with the kind of vehicle they were in, they arrived at Lucien faster than how long it took Leandro to get there.

Enzo welcomed the General and ushered him to where the Michaelson's were waiting for him as soon as he got off from his ride.

"General Lockwood, this way, please," Enzo courteously gestured the way.

"Enzo, it's nice to see you again," Andy treated Enzo as a friend as they seemed to have a similar passion to return a lifetime indebtedness to Leandro. But since Andy is older than Enzo, to add to his high-ranking position in the military, Enzo always gives him the respect Enzo believes Andy deserves. He is grateful that Andy is not someone bragging about his identity. And Andy is always ready to help the old Michaelson in whatever help the latter would ask. He was even amazed to know that Andy surrendered his badge just so he could join the party of two, Enzo and Leandro, to avenge Sarah Gilbert Michaelson's death.

"It a pleasure to see you, too, General," Enzo replied with a gentle smile and a curt nod.

"Where is our Don Leon?" Andy asked with his right arm hanging on Enzo's shoulders. Andy always felt close with Enzo ever since that avenge tour they had way back years ago. He realized Leandro was not a friend to lose no matter what circumstances in life may come along. Enzo's loyalty is one proof of that. Although Andy came across Leandro's path earlier than Enzo, he was serving the army then, so he could only assist Leandro whenever the latter would ask for his help. Enzo was doing what Andy seemed to feel he failed to do, be by Leandro's side. But he was also helpful to Leandro in ways Enzo could not, so they settled to be beneficial in ways their dispositions could provide.

"They are waiting for you in the study room," Enzo replied. He walked with Andy until they reached the study room's door and waited for Andy to get in. "I will get the guy you are supposed to meet and talk with," he informed Andy when the latter turned to look at him with a questioning look, asking why isn't he coming in together and joining them.

"I see, please do hurry, I am dying to meet and ask him so many questions," Andy smiled brightly.

Enzo nodded curtly, closed the door behind Andy, and walked to the room where Jack Foster was sent to stay earlier.
