Chapter 121: Chapter 121

The General arrived at the study room with only Leandro sitting at the right side area, in front of a tea table where a laptop was playing a video clip. Andy chose to sit beside Leandro. The latter knew Andy had arrived, but he just gave a smiling glance at the General. Leandro had his eyes back and fixed on the screen. His behavior piqued Andy's curiosity.

"I wonder what you're watching with so much fascination," Andy chuckled as he was about to take his seat, but his movements paused. His butt was almost squatting in the air as his eyes were keenly staring at the screen.

The scene Andy saw was the moment Anna was about to leap from one rooftop to the next one. He saw a petite figure, dressed in a tight, black bodysuit, with a sling bag crossed her body, walking like a cat on the narrow flat surface of a building's wall. According to its physiques, stands, and countenance, Andy can tell the person was female.

"Is that who I think she is?" Andy murmured with indescribable emotions. He slowly moved to take his seat, secure his body sitting before his knees give in.

Leandro nodded. He was still too engrossed watching the video clip no matter how many times he had seen it already that he could not take his eyes off the screen, nor could he be bothered to answer Andy's queries with words. But as Andy was also captivated to stare on the screen, he did not see Leandro's nod for his response.

Andy continued watching.

The person on the video stopped and turned around just to start running with speed on that very same narrow surface of the wall. She sprinted and leaped from the end of the wall she was into the floor or the next building's rooftop, inside its walls. But she landed so perfectly with her hands holding the sling bag, her body crouched but her feet flat to the ground, firmly rooted. Andy could not see the face clearly as it was already getting dark, and the camera was not too close to the person.

"Don't tell me that is Little Liz," Andy was too scared to realize that the girl he had been searching for was doing such dangerous stunts. He himself is a soldier in the army; he had also seen a lot of females in uniform but what he saw her do was something he had not prepared his fragile guilty heart to see. He was guilty because he did not find her soon after losing her parents in a heartbreaking tragedy.

Leandro was still wordless as he beamed with pride, watching the girl in the video clip.

The General had no choice but to keep watching as he himself could not move his eyes away from the screen. Then he exclaimed when he saw a very familiar face.

"Duncan?!"

They could not hear well of the audio, so they had no idea of what the men at a table were discussing about. They seemed serious. The eldest among the group was looking furious, while the others were clouded with fear and uncertainty. Then the person in a black bodysuit came forward. She was holding a black item in one of her hands while a firearm was securely pointing at the men by the table.

To Andy's great astonishment, the party crasher fired a single shot, but Duncan dropped to the ground right away. No one among the men beside Duncan moved to fire back at the attacker. They seemed to have frozen on their feet while the other person walked her way down the building through the stairs and out through the door like she did not just get into the building through her stealthy moves in the roof. Outside the building, a drone must have made it to capture her face closer that Andy got a clear view of her face.

"Little Liz?!"

Andy was still shell-shocked when he heard the door open and shut. His eyes turned to look at them, and he had to calm down. Andy felt his chest tightening. He wanted to roar his anger, but he was worried his veins might pop and have a heart attack. He needed to ask questions and clear more than two or three things. He would not get to do that if he lets his fury win over him.

"What's wrong..?" Leandro asked Andy when he noticed the general shaking and flushed. The old Michaelson quickly signaled Enzo to hand them a glass of water. "Do you have any meds for relief with you?"

Andy pulled a tiny plastic bottle from his chest pocket and opened it. Andy took one pill out of it, closed the lid, and returned the bottle to his pocket. Enzo gave the glass of water, and Andy took the pill; he placed the empty glass on the tea table and gently rubbed his chest.

"Thanks," Andy nodded at Leandro, then turned his eyes to Enzo, also expressing his gratitude.

Jack Foster was now seated right in front of the three. Leandro and Andy were sitting on the chair across from Jack while Enzo was standing behind the old Michaelson and General Lockwood. Andy reached his hands to the laptop, and through its touchpad, he adjusted the screen to the part where Charles Anderson's face was clearly visible.

The screen was facing the three while its back was to Jack. Jack was not aware of what was playing on the screen, but he did know what was playing in there. He just noticed the three men's gazes were alternately moving from the screen to him then back. The gazing thing lasted for five minutes that Jack did not manage to stay passive and turned the laptop to face his direction.

Jack had seen it happen, not in the same place, but it was real-time. He pressed the play button; he was also happy to watch that part where Brianna shot Charles Anderson right next to his heart. But he noticed they did not have the audio well in their video clip.

"Do you know what they were talking about?" Jack asked as he moved his eyes from the screen to the people across from his seat. No one replied.

"Do you mind if I log in to my account and show you a better access to a file with clear audio to understand what exchange of words occurred here?" Jack asked again.

Enzo glared at Jack. He was wary this guy would mess with their firewall and do something funny. He was keenly watching, but even as Jack Foster was already typing on the keyboards, Enzo noticed the two superiors seated in front of him were not stopping or objecting.

"Boss..." Enzo whispered at Leandro. He was trying to remind the old Michaelson that they had to stop the guy from whatever he was doing.

"Let him be," Leandro whispered back. He was not aware of what Andy saw in Jack Foster's face.

Leandro and Enzo could not see the trace similarity of faces between Charles Anderson and Jack Foster. They were also eager to hear what conversations happened before Anna shot that man and why they did not even bother to chase the person who shot their comrade or superior.

Andy kept his watch on the guy who looked so devilishly similar to that person shot by Little Liz in the video. He checked himself to see if he was already calm enough to ask questions.

"What's your name?" Asked Andy calmly.

"Jack Foster."

"Foster?" Andy asked again; this time, he could not help frowning. "Are you related to Lawrence Duncan?"

Jack stopped what he was doing and looked up to the man asking. It was the first time he had seen this man. He was wearing a military uniform, and by the looks of it, even without the pins and medals as Andy was wearing his regular clothes, Jack could tell this man has a high position. His countenance speaks he was a high-ranking officer.

"Related to who?" Jack asked as he twirled the laptop to face the people watching it earlier with the audio at its max volume.

Everyone became quiet when they heard the loud conversation between Charles Anderson and his mercenary team. Leandro and Enzo knew their identity already, but Andy did not. He was only able to recognize Lawrence Duncan, whom Leon and Enzo knew as Charles Anderson. The two knew Charles was the owner of a mercenary agency where the men with him were employed, along with Brianna Peters, but it seemed the situation was not the way they were supposed to be.

Leandro smiled victoriously when he heard Anna declare a warning never to bother her or her client, Lucien Michaelson, ever again before she fired her gun with an amazingly calculated aim.

"She shot the guy with only an inch to his heart, as her fair warning," Jack stated. He was smiling with pride, and it did not miss Andy's eyes.

Andy Lockwood was puzzled.

Why would a young man be happy to see his father being shot almost to death?

But he seemed not to know Lawrence Duncan, either.

Who is this Jack Foster?

Many questions filled his mind, but he did not want to be careless...
