Chapter 119: Chapter 119

Jack Foster was frantic when he heard the news that Brianna was ambushed, captured, and poisoned. He quickly assisted their team and drove to Lucien's villa, just to be blocked by the Michaelson's men guarding the whole place.

"I'm here to see my sister," Jack stated with a firm voice.

He was not going to leave the place before he got to see his little sister.

"Tell your boss that Jack Foster is here to see his sister. He will know," he insisted. He was still trying to stay calm and speak with the security with formality. He was aware the Michaelson's wouldn't just let anyone in. He was even glad about that fact. It clearly meant that his little sister, Brianna, was safe here with all these men guarding the place while she was under-recovery.

The guy spoke on his radio and informed his superior that a certain Jack Foster was by the villa's gates and wanted to get in to see his sister. The call was confirmed, and Jack Foster was allowed to get in. Tatum Elliott was waiting for him by the door.

"Please have a seat. I will let the Master of the house know you're here. He was in the bathroom when the call of your arrival came in," Tatum spoke with due respect, knowing this man had introduced himself as Anna's brother. If Anna is that good in combat, this man might be more lethal than the Big B he had come to know.

"Thank you. I would like to see my sister as soon as possible," Jack replied. His worried countenance did not miss Tatum's examining eyes. It made the latter think and doubt if he is right to worry about the abilities of this man named Jack. He does not have the same bearing Anna has. She is difficult to read, while this Jack is the opposite. Keenly watching his walk earlier towards the door where Tatum was waiting for Jack, he also noticed he doesn't stand like a warrior or anyone with disciplinary training in his postures.

"I understand. Please sit for just a moment. I will be right back," Tatum excused himself swiftly.

Jack was too nervous to notice that Tatum had been reading his moves, behavior, and possible personality. And he could not hide anything. He wasn't trained like Brianna had gone through. He watched the back of the man he knew or guessed was Lucien Michaelson's driver bodyguard. But he lost him in sight when the man turned to a hallway behind a wall.

Tatum knocked lightly on the door where Anna was resting. He knew the old and young Michaelson's were inside.

"Come in," a voice responded from inside, and Tatum entered.

"Sir, someone is here to see Anna," he reported with discretion. Not because it was confidential, but because they did not want to bother the sleeping patient on the bed.

"Who?" Leandro asked with a big frown.

"His name is Jack Foster. He said on the phone last time that he was Brianna's sister," Tatum replied, still with cautiosness.

"Wait, let me ask Andy if he knows anything about a brother Anna has," the old Michaelson quickly dialed a speed dial button on his phone. Andy was still on the road, but he was not driving, so he was able to receive and answer the call right away.

Leandro did not beat around the bush. He asked what he wanted to know as soon as Andy answered his call. And Andy did not dally to answer according to his knowledge. Andy said Brianna was the one and only child of Elizabeth Patel and Leith Peters. There is no possibility of having a brother or a sister for Brianna.

The call was ended with an understanding that whoever is claiming to be Anna's brother is not blood-related. Leandro decided to let Lucien stay by Anna's side.

"I will be the one to talk to him and see if he is trustworthy enough to let him see Anna," Leandro walked with Tatum to speak with their visitor.

Lucien did not resist. He was not going to leave Anna's side only to see someone his Grandpa Andy confirmed as not a blood-related brother to Anna. Who knows if he is his rival in Anna's heart or what. If he were Jack and is someone more than a colleague or a brother in a relationship with Anna, he would never wait to be allowed to see his girl. He will barge in. He will run into the battlefield to save and rescue Anna.

"May I help you?" Leandro spoke with sternness as soon as he arrived in the living room, where Jack Foster was told to wait. Jack was startled to see the old Michaelson. He was expecting to see a Michaelson but not the old one. He was thinking the guy who received him by the door and welcomed him, told him to sit and wait for a while, would come back with Lucien to talk to him. Jack was mortified to realize that he was face to face with the person Brianna was dead, set to avenge her parents' death. The infamous Leandro Michaelson in the flesh!

Jack stood up from his seat with abrupt. But his hatred for Leandro was too intense as he had seen how Brianna would endure so much pain and suffering she had during her training days because of that hatred in her heart. Jack was no different. But knowing he was inside a Michaelson's territory, Jack was wise enough to keep his calm.

"I am here to see my sister, Brianna Peters," Jack Foster spoke with equal formality in response to Leandro's stern tone.

Leandro scoffed as he kept walking to sit across from Jack and stared at the young man in front of him.

"Funny, but as far as an old friend of Anna's mom has confirmed, she has no siblings. That means she has no brother," Leandro pressed on the words with "no".

"We may not be related by blood, but we are siblings by heart and spirit. Does it mean you have anyone that knew Brianna's parents?" Jack was somehow offended when Leandro tried to press on the fact that he and B are not siblings, but when he noticed the whole message of Leandro's words, he was astonished.

"We do, and I assume you know that her parents' death is still a mystery. We are trying to find everything we can to help her get justice for her parents' untimely death," Leandro stated with keen observations at the man in front of him. He was trying to see if there would be any signs of betrayal in his reactions. What Leandro saw was weird. He did not get to understand right away.

Jack was doing the same. He was mesmerized to hear everything that this old man was talking like nonsense.

"Trying to help?" Jack asked with disbelief.

"Of course, she had saved my grandson countless times in a very short period of time. Is it unbelievable for us to want to return the favor if we can?" Leandro defended. "Why do you make it sound too impossible for us to do such a thing as to help her solve a very important matter in her life?"

Jack was silenced. He did not want to speak what he knew without letting B know about any of these.

"I would like to see, Brianna, if you don't mind," Jack suddenly uttered with a disputable determination.

Leandro felt this man was avoiding telling something so significant. The old man let his foxy character show.

"I am afraid I cannot let you do that unless you come clean," Leandro glanced at Tatum Elliott. The latter moved close to Leandro as soon as he received the message. "Take this man to a room and ask someone to keep an eye on him. If he is ready to tell me everything he knew, let me know, and I will let him see Anna. He might be in need of time to think and decide. Considering he is Anna's friend, do not kill him or make him feel aggrieved. Do you understand?"

Leandro spoke every word he said to Tatum Elliott with his eyes straight to Jack Foster.

Jack was furious that he was denied to see B right away. But he also thinks he needs time to think. He also needs to see B before he takes any steps. He glared at the old Michaelson as Tatum asked him to follow.
