Chapter 126: Chapter 126

Mia sat behind her sleek desk, her fingers tapping rhythmically as she contemplated the message she was about to deliver, after thinking for such a long time.

On the other hand Khushi, was immersed in her daily tasks, diligently typing away at her computer.

She had a reputation for her unwavering dedication to her job, and her commitment had not gone unnoticed by Mia too.

"I should finish all my pending work before the new boss comes here as I don't want to give him any chance to find any mistake in my work or scold me or worse punish me for my work.",Khushi said to herself in her heart.

As the clock approached noon, Mia finally decided it was time. With a deep breath, she picked up her phone and dialed Khushi's extension.

The phone on Khushi's desk rang, causing her to look up in surprise.

Khushi picked up the phone, her heart racing, and heard Mia's calm voice on the other end. "Khushi, could you please come to my cabin? I have something important to discuss with you."

Khushi nodded, her mind racing with questions and curiosity.

"Why did Ma'am call me again? Is that related to our new boss ? Oh! No..my hands are already shivering in fear."Khushi gulped down in nervousness.

She quickly saved her work and stood up, straightening her blouse as she made her way to Mia's cabin.

The journey from her desk to the boss's office felt like an eternity, each step echoing her uncertainty about what Mia had to say.

Upon reaching the cabin, Khushi knocked softly before entering.

Mia looked up from her desk, her expression a mix of professionalism and concern.

She motioned for Khushi to take a seat, and as they both settled in, Mia began to explain the reason for this meeting. She spoke with sincerity,

"Khushi our German clients are on their way to come here but unfortunately , their car's tyre got punctured in some unknown place where not much public is available and ready to provide any type of help to them. So go with the driver and help them to come along with you here.",Mia ordered Khushi.

"But ma'am can't we book a cab for them or send only the driver with our car to receive them?"Khushi questioned, suggesting ideas to save herself from going outside as the new boss could come there anytime.

"Do you really think if I have other options left in front of me then I would suggest you go?

Moreover , cabs are not available at the moment and how awkward it would be if we sent only the driver to receive them.",Mia scoffed looking at her.

"Okay ma'am if you are insisting then I am ready to go.",Khushi said, unwillingly as she had no other option left in front of her.

"Good. The driver is already waiting for you. So better hurry up!"Mia exclaimed and signaled her to leave.

The moment Khushi left her cabin Mia smirked and smiled evilly.

"So my plan actually worked...When Abeer will come and ask me about you, I'll say that you deliberately went for your personal work because you don't want to welcome your new boss and were complaining to me that you only want me as your Boss.

I know him very well. He will tolerate his insult by you and will throw you out of this place instantly.",Mia smirked, passing a deadly smile.

"I am so sorry sweetheart , but it's not your fault. Yesterday , the way he showed interest in you and tried to inquire about you made me realize there is something fishy regarding you.

I have never seen him taking interest in any girl like this and as I can't see him or more precisely , I can't even imagine him with any other girl except me, so I planned everything to make Khushi's image fall in his eyes so that he could not continue his interest in her furthermore. ",Mia said, fuming in anger.

Her jaws clenched , face flushed , gritting her teeths.

The moment Abeer entered the office on a bright and bustling morning, there was a palpable sense of anticipation in the air.

As he stepped through the glass doors, he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness.

Yes, the great mafia leader was nervous and excited as hell to meet his love of life ,Khushi after so many days.

Abeer had big shoes to fill, and he was eager to make a positive impression on his staff members as they are not aware of Abeer's true identity that he was a Mafia leader.

Abeer was a man of dualities, living in the shadows and the spotlight simultaneously.

To the outside world, he appeared to be a successful entrepreneur, running a legitimate business empire.

His sharp suits, polished demeanor, and philanthropic endeavors made him a respected figure in the community.

Abeer was the embodiment of the quintessential businessman, with a network of connections and influence that extended far and wide.

However, beneath this facade of respectability, Abeer harbored a darker secret.

He was deeply entrenched in the world of organized crime, operating as a mafia boss with a ruthless reputation.

This clandestine side of his life was known only to a select few, carefully chosen confidants who operated in the shadows with him.

Abeer's criminal empire included activities such as extortion, money laundering, and illicit trade, all carefully concealed beneath the veneer of his legitimate businesses.

The contrast between Abeer's public persona and his clandestine activities was stark.

In the daytime, he attended board meetings, made generous contributions to local charities, and rubbed shoulders with politicians and high society.

At night, he made deals with the underworld, orchestrated illegal operations, and protected his empire through a web of secrecy and loyalty.

Maintaining this double life was no easy feat. Abeer had to constantly balance the demands of his legal and illegal enterprises, ensuring that neither world encroached upon the other.

Yet, on the surface, Abeer presented himself as a legitimate entrepreneur.

He presided over a conglomerate of legal businesses that included real estate ventures, upscale restaurants, hotels and financial investments.

His legitimate enterprises served as a cloak to conceal the vast sums of money generated by his criminal activities.

Money laundering techniques were employed with precision to legitimize the illicit proceeds, rendering them virtually untraceable.

Within the legal business world, Abeer was perceived as a charismatic and astute leader.

He attended board meetings and industry conferences, maintaining a polished image that belied his darker undertakings.

He rubbed shoulders with influential figures in politics and law enforcement, carefully cultivating connections that provided protection and a shield against prying eyes.

The intricate dance between Abeer's dual identities was a constant source of tension.

He was acutely aware that a single misstep could expose his underworld connections and jeopardize both his criminal empire and his legitimate business holdings.

Abeer's life was a high-stakes gamble, a story of a man who masterfully straddled the fine line between two diametrically opposed worlds, where the consequences of failure were dire.

"Welcome Boss, we all are really happy to witness you here. ",Ava said , forwarding a bouquet of flowers towards his direction.

"Thank you so much everyone and I highly appreciate your efforts and time you invested for such a grand welcoming of me.",Abeer smiled , accepting the bouquet.

"Now everyone go back to your respective work. The welcome party is over.", Mia declared from behind, grabbing everyone's attention towards her.

The employers went back to their work leaving the duo alone there.

Abeer's eyes were still so busy searching Khushi here and there that he did not notice Mia standing in front of him.

"Ahmm..Ahmm.. The person you are trying to search is not present here at the moment Abeer.",Mia said, looking at him.

"What do you mean?",Abeer asked , shifting his gaze at her.

"Let's go inside my cabin. I will tell you in detail there.",Mia said , walking away from him and he followed her behind, looking for his answer.
