Chapter 9: Birthday Banquet

While on the other side, Jason was driving while Alexander was staring at him.

“ dude why are you looking at me like that ” Jason said.

Alexander didn't beat around the bush he went straight to the point “ Do you like Isabella '' he asked.

Jason glanced at him “ what type of question are you asking, of course I like her she's so nice  and quite generous ” he said.

“ Bro, I am not talking about that kind of thing ,do you love her ? ” He asked .

Jason chuckled  sarcastically “ what are you talking about , you know am together with Emma do I look like that kind of guy to you who plays with people's emotions ” he said .

“ no no that's not what I am talking about don't get me wrong ,what I mean is that maybe you have started developing interest in Isabella, feelings do change sometimes I think the love you have for Emma will disappear eventually ”  he said.

“ dude please don't spout this rubbish to me again , I love Emma that is it okay , I like Isabella as a friend ” he said.

Alexander only chuckled. He decided to keep quiet. He thought in his head that maybe he wasn't aware that his expression changed when he heard that Bella had an ex ,he felt his weird expression also when Bella hugged him.

Time flew. In the blink of an eye, it was time for Jason's Grandma birthday banquet .

The Harrison's Manor gates were wide open.All sort of things were been delivered to the manor even before dawn.All the servants were terribly busy,and the entire manor was up to their ears in work.

It had been a long time  since the Harrison's last held such a big party, so everyone was busy at work .

Jason was in his room when Emma called him “ hey Jason what colour of suit are you wearing today ” Emma said.

“ Uhm, I'm wearing a blue suit. He said ,why are you asking me? ” " Jason said.

Emma chuckled “ nothing, it just happened that we are going to wear the same colour, I think we were made for each other ” she said happily.

“ Oh okay ,I got to go, there's a lot of work to do, '' Jason said.

“ okay no problem go do your work ,bye see you soon” Emma said.

After she hung up she smiled viciously.It wasn't a coincidence that Jason and her were going to wear the same colour. She had asked Alexander about it; she just wanted to confirm if it's true or not.

Later that evening,

The car park in the Harrison's Manor was filled with luxurious cars ,there were also many international limited edition cars.

Emma was walking towards the hall,she had only taken a couple    of steps when she suddenly heard someone calling out to her “Emma! ”

She looked back and saw Ava walking over with her Elder sister Eva.

“Hey  Emma, you look so gorgeous tonight. I'm sure Jason won't be able to take his eyes off you ”Ava said.

Emma blushed “ thanks for the compliment girl ” she said.

“Yeah Emma, you look so lovely today,  “ Eva said.

” thanks sister Eva “ Emma said

so I heard that Jason is getting engaged in a couple of days,to the daughter of the Andrew's ,am sure she's not as pretty as you are “Eva said.

Emma's face curled up into a smile. She liked how everyone was praising her.

” Let's go in ” Emma said

“Nah” Ava said

Ava grabbed her arm with a smile and said “ I just saw Andrew's car. If you wait here for a while ,I'll definitely come. When the two of you stand next to each other, anyone who isn't blind will be able to see who the prettier one is, you can also let Jason see for himself that he has picked the wrong one.

Eva was a little taken aback at her words ” is Isabella Andrew's not good looking? She asked.

Ava hesitated.

Isabella's fair and flawless snow-white skin,large beautiful blue eyes as well as her pointed nose and pink lips that seemed even more beautiful than a celebrity's appeared in her mind.

She coughed and replied guiltily “ she's passable ,I guess ,

She's usually in jeans and t-shirt right Emma ? ”.

Emma chuckled “ yeah you are right ,then she said to Eva '' have you ever seen people from the countryside that come to the cities to study ? She carries herself exactly like those hillbillies.she doesn't have

an elegant disposition or strong aura around her at all .

A few people nearby came towards them while she was talking.upon hearing what she said they asked in surprise “ who are you talking about? ”

Eva smiled and replied “ it's Isabella Andrew,you know she's getting engaged to Jason Harrison, she snatched Emma's boyfriend from her, you know Jason and Emma have been dating for over a year now ” she said.

“ Oh you are talking about the daughter of Andrew's Isabella right , didn't her and her mom move to California after her father's death? ” someone said.

Eva nodded “ yeah she's back ,and she's going to be here at the party ” she said .

Hey, let's ignore her later,okay ? “

” I don't want to talk to someone like that, “ one of the young ladies said.

While the rest nodded in unison.

Emma's lips slowly curled into a smile as she listened to them.

The group of girls chatted noisily as they stood at the door ,after talking about Isabella, they shifted the topic back to Emma's dress and paid her a great deal of compliments.

Emma was looking her best today ,she wanted to outshine Isabella, she was wearing a blue strapless gown with a slit in the front looking gorgeous and sexy in it,the dress was made by a well known designer.

While they were cheering noisily, Emma looked into the distance and said ” They are coming.“

Everyone followed her gaze and looked over.

The middle-aged woman walking in the front wearing a gown full of classical charm. ” That's her mom “ Emma said, before she could continue ,Mrs Andrew suddenly turned back

revealing the ladies behind her.

Isabella was sashaying in a pair of crystal heels.

The champagne low  v-neck  gown on her set off her snow-white skin,full breast and thin waist,which looked as if one could hold her with just one hand,she has a perfect figure.

Her wavy hair casually draped on her shoulder,fluttered in the air along  with her movements. She emits a strong aura, looking sexy and classy.

Beside her, Chloe was wearing a baby pink off shoulder princess dress ,her shoulder length bob made her look youthful and gorgeous, she was putting on light makeup.

They were an exquisite sight in the Harrison's Manor.

The people waiting at the door were stunned, and all of them looked at them in disbelief.

The ladies who were clamouring just a moment ago said in surprise :

That dress was made by Madison James. The famous designer has seen this dress before. I heard that one of the princesses from the Royal family offered her 50 million dollars for this dress and she refused to sell it .They were talking about Isabella's dress.

” Oh my God, who is she ? which family is she from? I like the way she sways her hips as she walks.

Emma was totally stunned while everyone was singing praises of Isabella. Even she found it difficult to go against her conscience and say she didn't look good.

All around them every man's eyes were on her. It was obvious that Isabella had become the centre of attention.

When did such beauty appear in New York ?!

That was the thought in everyone's minds.

Even Eva was a little stunned. However because she knew Chloe, she didn't mistake her for anyone else. Instead she stared at Isabella in shock.

Eva had only heard her name prior to this, but she was the purported hillbilly that Emma mentioned?

There was practically no need for any comparison! Even with the distance between the two of them, it was obvious who had won.

Eva glared at Emma,she couldn't hold herself back and she said  “ so that's the Isabella Andrew you were talking about? ”

That one line from her was enough

to enlighten everyone there.

All of them looked at Isabella in unison.

Given her looks, which man will be able to resist her?. They thought to themselves.

Everyone glared at Emma and understood that she was just jealous of Isabella.

Emma felt like looking for a hole to crawl into ,she lowered her head embarrassedly. If only she knew that Isabella was going to dress like this she would have just shut her mouth up, she had the urge to bite her tongue off.

“ She's just trying to outshine us and show everyone that she's better, she's just a vixen who only knows how to seduce men, she stole my Jason From me.” she was using her pity card now .

They all nodded in unison. You are right, she might also snatch our boyfriends. We should probably stay away from a slut like her.

Emma had a vicious smile on her face, she has never failed in manipulating anyone she thought to herself.
