Chapter 87: Christmas Eve

At a shopping mall,

" You mean, you aren't gonna come "Emily asked with a sad pout.

" I'm sorry Millie, I can't. I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun. There's nothing to be nervous about. Alex 's parents are nice and he's there he won't let anything bad happen to you okay " Isabella persuaded her.

" You are right it won't be that bad, Chloe,Chris and Nancy will be there too " Emily consoled herself.

Isabella giggled " not just them, even Jason will be there " she said.

" For reals? How did you do it " Emily asked with her eyes widened from disbelief.

She gave a bitter laugh " I tricked him and he fell for it, Millie I really need a break from him. Gosh, Jason is too much. Sometimes I wonder why he's so insecure or maybe he thinks someone is going to snatch me from him, I just don't get it " Isabella complained.

" What is the worst he has done so far? " Emily asked.

Isabella took a sharp breath " where should I start from , one time he put a tracking device on me, he accompanies me till the end of class and even when I'm having test, and the worst one day I was urgently in need to use the bathroom and he wanted to come along I got so mad that he stopped his nonsense immediately.

Emily burst into laughter at the look on Isabella's face. " Jason is so funny and cute "

"To You right? Sometimes I feel like slapping him to death " just then her phone began to ring, glancing at the caller ID she almost cried.

Emily took a look and she burst into laughter till she fell back on her seat " Bella,  I think his feeling like you have cuckold him or something huh "

" Here pick up and tell him, have gone to use the restroom " Isabella said and handed the phone to Emily.

" Chloe has been acting really strangely these past few days, don't you think so?" Isabella asked.

" You are right, I called this morning and she didn't pick up " Emily said with her eyes narrowed.

"  I think we should go check on Chloe " Isabella suggested and Emily nodded.

AT THE ANDREW'S

" Chloe, what's taking you so long to open up? " Isabella shouted from the outside.

After some minutes, they heard the sound of the door being unlocked. Isabella pushed it open and came in together with Emily.

" Oh, were you sleeping? Isabella asked as they glanced at Chloe who was lying on the bed.

" I was in the bathroom, " she answered slowly.

Isabella frowned " is everything okay with you? You have been acting strange lately"

" I'm fine I just feel down and I don't know why" she said and forced a smile.

" What did you girls purchase? " Chloe asked.

" Aren't you coming for the Christmas Ball party, " Emily asked.

" I don't wanna, I don't even have a date " Chloe said, seemingly uninterested.

"You are right,  It's in two days time, everyone has already gotten a date but you can attend individually " Isabella comforted her.

" I don't want to be a gooseberry, moreover you all will be with your dates " Chloe said as she crossed her arm over her chest.

" Look we are all tired of our boyfriends especially Jason he's too clingy and I need a break, my point is you will be a perfect excuse " Isabella winked at her and they laughed.

" Alright, I can't say no again I guess " Chloe said with a chuckle.

BACK AT GLOBEX

Emily opened the door to her apartment, she went upstairs and dropped everything they had purchased exhaustedly. She just hoped Alex's parents were going to like her.

Speaking of Alex, they hadn't seen each other for the past two days. After second thoughts she decided to give him a call.

" Don't you miss me? '' Emily murmured.

" Baby, I'm just busy I will make it up to you okay " Alexander assured her.

" It's fine, at least you won't work on Christmas Eve right? " She asked.

" Right, I will come pick you up tomorrow, " he said.

" Okay I won't disturb your work, "  Emily said.

" Love you " Alexander said  before the call got disconnected

The following day, it was Christmas Eve and everywhere was giving a festive  feeling.

Emily sat in her dressing mirror as she applied her red lipstick. Today she was putting on a black sleeveless fitted long dress with a slit at the side, showing her smooth long legs, her black hair was styled in a side bun and she was giving a sophisticated look. She smiled with satisfaction as she took a glance of herself in the mirror.

It had been two days since they both met and she wanted to look her best for him, she opened the drawer and brought out her jewellery and she quickly put it on.

She picked up her crystal heels that were neatly placed on the bed, she was about to put on her shoes and Alex walked in.

He squatted and in a low tone he said " I will do it " he placed her feet on his thigh and he gently slipped the shoe into her foot.

He placed a light kiss on her foot and he raised his head and they locked eyes and silence filled the room.

Alexander stood up, and so did Emily, his eyes roamed around her body. " Why do you look this gorgeous? " he said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

" You look handsome tonight  " she complimented him too and wrapped her arm around his neck.

He kissed her on the lips " do you know how much I missed you " he said hugging her for a while.

" Not as much as I did, " she said shyly.

" Come on it's getting late, let's get going " he offered his arm to her and she locked arms with him.

The drive went smoothly, and they finally arrived at the Miles Residence, immediately the car got to the gate, it opened automatically.

The mansion was a grandiose structure made of gleaming white marble, with tall columns lining the front entrance. The roof was a series of gabled peaks, and the windows were tall and narrow, framed in black iron. The entire structure was surrounded by lush gardens, with fountains and statues dotting the landscape.

She looked around with an impressed look, the house was giving a sophisticated look. The exterior design was top-notch. and the house was brightly lit up making it look more enchanting.

" Your house looks really lovely, " she said with a faint smile.

" Can you stop acting all cute, I feel like kissing you senselessly right now " Alexander said.

" What nonsense " she mumbled and tried to open the door but it was locked.

" Alex, what are you doing? " She said with a frown.

" Can I get my Christmas present now " he asked and without holding himself back he captured her lips and pinned her to the seat. They kissed each other passionately, completely neglecting every one of their thoughts, they were both lost in each other's world and the only thing they  craved for was one thing which was making this moment a memorable one with no shred of regrets.

Their breaths became rough and he slowly let go of her lips, he placed his forehead on hers and their breaths encircled. " Millie I love you so much and I promise I won't let you down " he whispered against her lips and she blushed.

" Let's go down, " he said.

" Wait," Emily said as she brought a small size mirror from her bag.

She gave Alexander a deadly glare " you ruined my lipstick " she said and applied it again.

Alexander shook his head and  got down, he turned to the passenger seat, and opened the door for her, she took his hand and got out.

She stepped out onto the cobblestone driveway and looked up at the towering mansion in front of her. They got to the huge door and it was immediately swung open

" Welcome home, sir and ma'am " a butler said as he bowed slightly.

Alexander nodded and they proceeded in, and she must say the interior design was far more beautiful and couldn't be compared with the exterior design.

The whole house was beautifully lit up, and they finally got to the large living room and she met his relatives and friends, the adults were conversing while the youngsters were on their phones.

She suddenly felt nervous as all their gazes travelled back to them. She clutched onto his hand tightly and Alexander could sense she was anxious.

Alexander turned to Emily and gave her a reassuring smile.

He took her to a middle-aged couple who were conversing with their friends.

" Mom, dad this is Emily, my girl " he announced.

" Merry Christmas Eve uncle and Aunt " she said and handed Mrs Miles a basket of candy.

The maid took it from her and Mrs Miles smiled " she's so pretty " she muttered and Emily blush shyly.

"  Which family are you from dear? " Mr Miles asked.

" I don't live here, I'm from California and my parents…….."

Alexander cut her off " mom, dad you can ask her questions later " with that said he took her upstairs.

" Why were you so rude? " She asked quizzically.

Alexander snorted "  that's how they behave all the time, they love status and money more than anything else "

Emily decided to keep mute.

They kept walking down the hallway, she was about to complain when they finally stopped at a door, he pushed the door open and she saw Chris, Chloe, Jason , Nancy and two guys and the same girl she saw the other night when she was video calling Alex.

" Finally you two are here "  Nancy said as she stood up and pulled Emily with her.

" Alex, lend her to me for a while " Nancy said and Alexander nodded.

Stacey's expression turned dark as she stared at Emily with a hint of hate and jealousy.
