Chapter 75: Caleb's secret

Isabella laughed “ is not that bad okay? I'm sure you are going to do well, right Liam? ” she said.

Liam nodded “ yeah” he replied simply.

Isabella furrowed her brows `` Liam is everything alright you have been acting quite strange these past few days ” she said concernedly.

“ I'm just exhausted, it's nothing really, ” he said with a faint smile.

“ where should we go? ” Isabella asked.

“ You girls can enjoy. I'm sorry I have to get home ” he said and walked away.

“ hmm that's strange ” Isabella said as she stared at the path he took.

“ Let's go and get something to eat, ” Isabella said and Olivia nodded.

In a suburb in New York, Chantal sat on the wide bed crying.

“ Shut up and put on your dress, ” Caleb said, throwing her dress right on her face.

She got up with great difficulty as she stared at her blood that had stained the white sheets. The more she glanced at it the more tears kept pouring out of her eyes.

She could feel her whole body aching badly, he had gone really rough on her.

“ouch!” she winced in pain as she tried to put on her dress.

She couldn't believe Caleb brought her here just to have her not just that while they were intimate he kept mentioning Isabella's name.

After he was done, he suddenly started beating her up leaving behind  bruises all over her body. She didn't understand a thing he was indeed a real psychopath.

She managed to put on her dress and came downstairs to the living room to meet him.

“ one more sound from you, I will inform my boys to kill him ” he threatened.

Chantal shut her mouth immediately.

“ Do you remember the plan? ” he asked as he fiddled with the keys in his hand.

She nodded her head “ yeah ” she mumbled with great difficulty due to her swollen cheeks.

Back at School

Isabella got a message from an anonymous number telling her to meet up at her department.

She smiled and turned to Olivia “ I have to go now ” she said as she rose to her feet.

“ Where are you going? " I thought you said we should stay a little longer ” Olivia asked.

“ I just got a message from Jason he said I should meet him up in our department ” she said showing the message to Olivia.

“ er…… Isabella are you sure this is from Jason? What if it's a trap? I think you should give Jason a call, ” Olivia suggested.

Isabella thought for a while and decided to go for her idea.

“ Darling, did you send me any message ” she asked immediately the call got connected.

“ No I didn't,” he said.

Isabella furrowed her brows “ I think someone is trying to set me up” she said.

“ Then I guys, we should play along” Jason said and she chuckled and hung up.

“ You are right Olivia, I think someone is trying to set me up, ” Isabella said.

“ Let's go,I will come with you, ” Olivia said to Isabella.

They got to the department and the class was empty. Clearly everyone had gone home after the exams.

Suddenly someone ran in and slumped on the floor. Isabella was dumbfounded to see Chantal all Haggard and beaten up.

She couldn't stop herself from asking “ what happened to you?” she said.

“ Isabella please stop pretending, I know you were the one who sent those boys to beat me up into a pulp. I promise I don't have any feelings for Jason please spare my life ” she said and started kowtowing to her.

Isabella stared at her speechlessly, she was slow to react and process anything into her head.

Just then Jason walks in to see Chantal kowtowing to Isabella.

“ What is going on here? ” Jason asked.

Chantal ran over to him “ thank goodness you are here. Isabella did this to me. Save me ” she said as she began to weep.

“ Chantal, how could you accuse me of something of this sort ” Isabella said with her eyes widened from shock.

“ Do you think I'm crazy and I will harm myself this way just to frame you? ” she yelled crazily.

Jason turned her around and landed a resounding slap to her face. “ smack!”

She held her swollen cheeks in disbelief “ jas…Jason what are you doing? ” she asked.

“Chantal, who are you working for? “ he said immediately.

Chantal's heart sank immediately she quickly concealed her frightened look ” what are you talking about? I…I don't work for anyone“ she said avoiding eye contact.

Jason scoff ”really? He brought out his phone and showed her some pictures of Caleb and her when they were leaving the villa in the suburb.

She gulped down her saliva nervously as she clutched on her dress tightly.

Jason chuckled coldly, “ I guess I don't need an answer to that question. It is clearly obvious that you are working for that scoundrel, ” he said as he clenched his fist.

I asked someone to place a tracking device on you earlier today cause you have been acting suspicious in class and that's how I got to know the full truth.

“ So tell me why are you working for him ” he tried to stay calm. He couldn't imagine what he would do with her if he lost his cool.

Chantal sat on the ground while sobbing “ he kidnapped my younger brother ” she said as she let her tears slide down her cheeks freely.

Isabella was stunned she couldn't believe Caleb could even kidnap a fly talkless of a human.

Chantal continued “ he made me do all of that he said if I didn't tear the both of you apart he wouldn't spare my younger brother ” she said.

“ Jason, are you sure she's telling the truth? I don't think Caleb could do something like that, ” Isabella said.

Jason grew a little angry; he felt like she  was trying to support Caleb.

“ I swear I'm telling the truth my brother's life is currently in danger right now since you know the truth now. Please, you guys, help me. I promise I won't show my face here in New York ever again ” she pleaded on her knees.

Jason nodded “ I will help you get your brother back and send Caleb to jail ” he said as his gaze burned with rage.

“ Like seriously? Are we going to just believe her ” Isabella didn't seem confused about the whole situation.

“ Are you trying to protect Caleb? Or you can't bear to see your lover in jail ” he said sarcastically leaving Isabella speechless.

Just then Jason got a message from an anonymous number asking him to go over to Isabella's department. At this moment there was no doubt that Chantal was telling the truth. If Isabella hadn't asked him about the anonymous number he would have been left in the dark and this message would have led him to Isabella's department and he might have foolishly fall for Caleb tricks by believing Chantal.

" What nonsense! Caleb you are so childish" he mumbled as he stomped out to make a call.

Chantal glanced at Isabella `` it all started back in my hometown Sedona, I was just a waitress In a bar my father was a good for nothing drunkard. He only cared about nothing but alcohol as the eldest daughter of the family I had to take responsibilities. One night I learned that my father lended money from one of the dangerous gangs in my hometown. They came to look for him but he had already run away. These people located me and were about to take me away, but then Caleb showed up at the bar and paid all the debts. I thought he was a heaven's saint not until he kidnapped my little brother and brought me here to New York. He told me alittle about all of your identity and the day Jason and I met it wasn't a coincidence it was all set up by Caleb ”she said as she sniffed.

Isabella was shocked so Caleb could go to all this extent just to win her back.

Chantal continued “ and today he called me over and had his way with me not just that he kept calling your name as we were in the middle of it, all this bruises on me was caused by him“ she said palming her mouth as she began to weep again.

Jason came in only to hear this part he could feel all his veins throbbing already “ what did you say? That scum did that ?” he yelled angrily.

Isabella was already getting infuriated “ how could he do something so shameless” she said balling her fist.

“ Chantal look, in order to get Caleb arrested you have to work with us ” Jason said.

Chantal nodded “ yes I will. What about my brother?” she asked.

“  I have already sent people over there to secretly protect him, nothing is going to happen. All you have to do is to make Caleb think that Isabella and I are in a fight for real ” he said.
