Chapter 26: I will be back before Christmas's Eve

I will join you in a sec “ Emily said.

Isabella went downstairs “ mom I'm  hungry ” she yelled like a little child.

One of the maids walked up to her “ madam went out ” she said.

“ to where ? Isabella asked, looking puzzled.

“ She didn't mention ” the maid replied she bowed and left .

Isabella went to dining room Chloe  was having her breakfast “ hey chlo did you know where my mom went to ” she asked.

“ I don't know but I heard her talking about travelling over the phone ” Chloe said while eating her food.

Isabella's eyes widened “ she's leaving me ? ” she said.

“ Relax, I am not sure Aunty Evelyn will leave. When she comes just ask her ” Chloe said, focusing on her phone while eating.

After breakfast Isabella called her mom on the phone.

“ Mom, where are you now? ” Isabella asked.

“ Baby, I will explain to you when I am back. I'm already on my way home ” Mrs Andrew said.

“ Okay mom “ Isabella didn't feel good, she felt like the news would break her heart.

She paced around her room wondering what news it could be.

She heard the sound of the car and she peeped through the window. ” aha mom is here “ she said as she ran down the stairs.

” Baby you are so unbelievable. Come let's go upstairs “ Mrs Andrew chuckled.

Back at her mother's room she threw herself on the couch. ” Mom, what's going on? “ she asked.

” Baby, I am travelling to China to see your grandma, “ Mrs Andrew said.

”  all of a sudden? what's wrong with Granny “ Isabella asked as she stood up.

” Granny is fine, baby. She has been complaining for a while that we haven't visited her. I would have asked you to come along with me but you are going back to school tomorrow.“ Mrs Andrew explained.

” But mom, I don't want you to go, “ Isabella pouted her lip.

Mrs Andrew chuckled ” you are so silly. You are all grown up now and there's nothing for me to worry about. I know Jason will take good care of you while I am away. be good, don't stress him too much, “ she said.

” Mom, when are you coming back? And who will stay with Chloe? I think I should stay back “  Isabella said.

” no need to worry about her. Her parents are coming back tonight “ Mrs Andrew said.

Isabella was excited ” really? Does Chloe know about it? Am sure she must be happy it's been a year since she last saw them. “ she said.

” don't tell her, let's keep it a surprise, “ Mrs Andrew said.

” Mom, when will you come back? “ Isabella asked again.

” I will be back before Christmas's Eve “ Mrs Andrew said.

” what! That's about five to six months from now “ Isabella said.

” Yes dear, your granny is already so old.I want to accompany her for as long as I can, that will make her really happy. I think when you are on break you should go see her too  “ Mrs Andrew said.

” Fine mom. Make sure you call me every morning, afternoon and night “ Isabella finally compromised.

Mrs Andrew laughed again ” you are so amazing. Am sure you wouldn't remember your mother after spending time with Jason. “ She said.

“ What nonsense mom. You are the most important person in my life and that will never change “ Isabella said as she pulled her mom into a tight hug. She felt a little emotional as tears swamped up her eyes. She couldn't help but remember her dad.

” I wish dad was here ” Isabella said as her tears flowed down her cheeks.

Her mom patted her back “ it's okay he's here with us. He will forever be in our hearts ” she said.

Isabella nodded as she wiped her tears.“ I will go check on Emily.” She said and excused herself.

On her way  she came across Caleb. He was holding a bag definitely  filled with clothes. “ I was about to come say goodbye, ” Caleb said.

“ Oh goodbye then, ” Isabella said unceremoniously and walked off.

“ Yeah, see you around, ” he said in a low voice, staring at her back before taking his leave.

Isabella checked on Emily who was done packing.“  have Jason arrived? ” Emily asked.

Isabella shook her head “ no I think we should get going by ourselves ” she suggested

“ Let's wait a little longer, ” Emily said. She didn't care know matter how long it took. She just wanted to see Jason.

At that moment they heard a knock on the door “come in ” Isabella said.

“ ma'am young master Jason is here ” the maid said and left.

Emily smiled sweetly. She glanced at herself in the mirror. She fixed her hair and applied her lipstick.

Isabella and Emily came downstairs together. Isabella walked up to Jason and hit his chest playfully “ you are a little late ” she said.

Jason pulled her into his embrace “ am sorry I was busy with some work ” he said.

Isabella breaked free from him “ never mind, don't care ” she said.

” aren't you happy to see me?  “ Jason asked

” Of course I'm happy, can't wait for my free lunch, “ she said while grinning.

Jason didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She was so serious about the free lunch he promised.

Emily let out a fake cough ” Kuh Kuh “ she felt left out. They were acting as if she's a ghost

” oh hey Emily “ Jason smiled at her.

Emily froze. she felt her cheeks burning and her heart thumped widely. This was the best day of her life ” he finally got my name right and he noticed me. ” She thought inside.

She felt like jumping from joy but she had to suppress her excitement. She took in deep breaths trying to calm herself.

Alexander walked in, talking on the phone.

” Whoa whoa, who do we have here? Do you know where you are? ” Isabella said as she laughed.

Alexander hanged up the call he chuckled “ am not here to see you.” he said to Isabella while gazing at Emily.

“ I know you are here to see someone else not me ” Isabella said wiggling her brows at Emily . After all you don't care about me ” Isabella pretended to be angry

Alexander laughed “ you know that's a lie, you have a special place in my heart. You are more important than Jason to me ” he said.

Isabella chuckled “ and you think I will believe, that's a big lie ” she said.

“ Hey beauty, ” Alexander said to Emily.

Emily plastered a fake smile as usual “ erm Baby B I think we should get going ” she said. She didn't like Alexander at all, she was so tired of putting on an act all the time.

Alexander quickly said “ that's no big deal I brought my car. I will drop you off. Let's leave these two, I don't want us to look like gooseberries ” he said.

Emily clenched her fist tightly “ God, who's this jerk. He is spoiling my plans. ” she thought to herself.

“ Alright guys, let's go ” Isabella said.

“ It's aunty's home? ” Jason asked.

“ oh yeah. It's been long I saw Aunty Evelyn ”alexander added.

“ I am angry at mom, she's travelling to China to see my grandma ” Isabella said.

“ oh yeah I just remembered. I wanted to ask this question. Do you understand Mandarin?” Alexander asked.

Isabella nodded “ sure and I can speak a little too ” she said. She remembered when she was 7 after her father's death her mom left her at her Granny's place back in China. Her mom was so heartbroken about her father's death so her mom had told everyone that she wanted to be alone and she wanted to visit all the places she went with Isabella's father. She was separated from her mom for almost 3 years.

Alexander nodded “ you have this little touch of Chinese look  ” he said.

“ Yeah, I got my looks from my mom. But Chloe looks more like a Chinese ” Isabella giggled.

“ Speaking of the devil and she appears “ Alexander said as he watched Chloe walking over.

” You are the devil. "Chloe said, smacking his head.

” Ouch! it hurts, are you really a woman?“ Alexander wrinkled his handsome face from pain.

Chloe ignored him, she couldn't help but grumble ” this so unfair you all are leaving me here “ she said.

” aren't you coming to school tomorrow? “ Alexander asked.

” Of course I am coming. Am going to miss Bella “ Chloe said as she gave Isabella a tight hug.

” awww I will miss you even more chlo “ Isabella said.

She called Lucy over “ is my mom still awake ? ” Isabella asked.

“ Madam is fast asleep, ” Lucy said.

“ She's having her nap, let's get going, “ Isabella said.

They got to the garage Alexander opened the passenger seat ” get in '' he said.

Emily glanced at Isabella and Jason, she tugged her dress tightly with no other choice she got into Alexander's car while cursing him hundred times  inwardly.

Alexander got in,he was about to start the car when he suddenly sneezed ” who's cursing me again “ he said as he kept sneezing

Emily snorted inwardly ” that serves you right “ she murmured.

” What did you say? “ Alexander asked.

” oh no nothing “ she said as she passed him the tissue while maintaining a fake smile.

Chapter 20: no pain no gain

She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. “ I will be taking my leave now “ Isabella said with her cheeks all red as she avoided looking into his eyes. She took her phone from the coffee table she turned around to leave but Jason suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her into his embrace he placed his hand around her waist as he buried his head in her neck she could feel his warm breathe on her neck making it hot and ticklish.

Isabella was dumbfounded she didn't know if she should laugh or cry ” what are you doing “ she said in a low voice sometimes she couldn't keep up with his strange behaviors.

” nothing “ he replied unceremoniously

Isabella rolled her eyes at him ” Then can you let go of me ? She asked.

Jason refused “ I don't want to let you go” he said. Every word he said made Isabella ticklish. Her neck was one of her sensitive areas.

Isabella felt sweet by what he had just said. but if that was true why didn't he break up with Emma for her sake. With that thought in mind she couldn't help but feel a little annoyed she wanted to make things clear with him.

Before she could reply his cellphone started ringing he didn't want to let go of her , he asked her to pick up the call for him. Isabella glanced at the caller ID “ other half ” she said out loud.

“ what ? ” Jason said he was confused. Isabella snickered “ your other half is video calling ” she said. as she breaked free from him she handed his phone back to him.

Jason picked up he saw Emma's average looking face, she had a new look she had cut her hair short for some reason he felt like she had become uglier he frowned slightly ” why did you save your number with this name? “ He asked.

Emma chuckled “ cause am your other half she said as she pouted her lip. ” Baby I'm back I know you miss me, am at the airport right now come pick me up ” she said.

Isabella who was drinking water spat out the water from her mouth when she heard what Emma said she felt like throwing up the vicious Emma was acting all coy.

Jason glanced at Isabella then he glanced back at Emma who was still speaking on the phone he realized that Isabella was far more preetier and she had the most beautiful smile. Whenever she smiled you could see her cute dimples.

Jason rubbed the areas between his brows “ I can't am busy right now ” he said.

“ Oh okay then, where are you right now. This is definitely not your house ” Emma asked putting on a sad look.

She had thought that Jason will rush to come pick her up and maybe they could have lunch together.

Jason was caught off guard “ erm I'm at globex my mom sent me to the agent ” he lied.

Isabella was angry so she was something to hide or not to talk about now. She picked up her bag she was about to head out, suddenly an idea popped up. Her lips curled up into a smile. She wanted to teach this two a lesson.

She walked up to Jason who was still talking to Emma on the phone she bent a little as she pecked Jason on the lip she used her index finger as she wiped her lipgloss off his lip she turned around and glanced at Emma with a smile “ oh Ms. jackson long time no see. I hope you are coming to our engagement party tonight ” Isabella said as she placed her head on Jason's chest.

Jason froze for awhile what is wrong with Bella he thought.

Emma's face turned as white as a sheet as she stuttered “ jas.. Jason wha.. what's going on ” she asked as her eyes started tearing up .

“ what's Isabella doing with you, so this is what you were busy with. And she's the reason you refused to pick me up ” she said as her tears kept flowing down her cheeks. She didn't even care that alot of people were staring at her at the airport.

Jason remained silent he also didn't have an answer to that question. Cause he was still in shock.

Isabella smile grew bigger as she giggled “ oh oh I know the answer ” she said acting like a little kid.

“ I think you must have forgotten that the man next to me is my fiance she said rubbing her hands on his chest seductively.“ so I don't think we owe you any damn explanation the only appology we owe you is for the little PDA you just saw it wasn't our fault we couldn't help it,you know when two people are in love it happens naturally if you can't take it any more maybe you should call the police i also don't like abusing single dogs. “ she said as she giggled.

Emma was on the verge of fainting she couldn't believe her eyes or ear she felt like she was dreaming. ” no no Jason this can't be true she's lying right? “

” Byeee “ Isabella waved her hand as she disconnected the call.

Isabella snorted inwardly ” that was just a little pay back “ she mumbled.

While at the other side

Emma stood outside the airport in daze. She still couldn't believe everything.

She wiped her tears as she called her mom ” mom send the driver to me, am outside the airport “ she said.

” Baby what's wrong with your voice? “ and didn't you just tell me a while ago that your friend will pick you up from the airport ” Mrs Jackson Said.

Emma forced a smile “ I just caught a cold and mom please stop asking me questions just send the chaffeur to me right now ” she said as she hanged up the call.

“ Isabella you are messing with the wrong person. An old fox is not easily snared. I know you also love Jason, all is fair in love and war. no pain no gain” she said as she smiled viciously.
