Chapter 25: it's a mystery

On their way upstairs they came across Mrs Harrison “ baby there you are, have been looking for you ” Mrs Harrison said.

“ oh aunty I will be right back, Jason is drunk ” she said sparing a glance at Jason who was standing next to her.

She pulled Jason into his room, she gently closed the door “ lie down here ” she said helping him to the bed. She stretched trying to reach for the quilt.

Jason stared at her adorable face,he suddenly pulled her she was caught off guard she fell right ontop of him.

” what are you doing? “ Isabella said with a serious look.

Jason tightened his grip around her waist. He stared at her trying to read each of her reaction and expression. ” Isabella do you love Caleb? “ he asked.

Isabella tried to get up but she couldn't ” what are you talking about? Let go, am not comfortable with this position “ she said.

” Don't try to change the topic ” do you love him? “ Jason asked again.

” I don't. okay? Caleb is my ex and am over him. Don't try to pick fights with him again “she said.

Jason snorted ” then why are you protecting him? “ he asked. ” The other day you said you were inlove with a scumbag weren't you referring to Caleb? ” he asked fixing his gaze at her.

Isabella gigled deep inside of her hehe, he didn't know that she was referring to him. ” it's a mystery “ she replied.

” won't you tell me “ he asked softly. using his finger to stroke her hair gently.

” maybe when the time comes.“ She replied. She had decided that she won't tell him about her feelings untill he breaks up with Emma. And if he never does, it will forever remain with her.

Jason fixed his gaze at her he could tell that she was telling the truth. “ Am not okay with caleb living at your place. His doesen't even look sick.“ he couldn't help but complain.

” but i cant ask him to leave, that will be embarrasing. Am sure he will leave soon anyways “ isabella said.

” Can you let go of me now. If someone comes in and finds us like this they might think we are doing something else “ Isabella said.

At that moment, the door outside was suddenly pushed open ” Bella here are.oh my, am sorry “ Mrs Harrison's face turned red she hurriedly went out and closed the door behind her.

Isabella felt extremely embarrassed she buried her face in Jason's chest. “ you see i told you to let go ” she said.

Jason chuckled softly he let go of her. Isabella got up from him. She was blushing all over she couldn't maintain eye contact with him.

“ Am going back downstairs, you should get some rest. ” Isabella said.

Jason held her hand before she could leave “ I want you to stay here with me ” he said.

“ But-but I don't think is fair if none of us are downstairs it's our engagement party after all ” Isabella complained.

“ then do you want me to stay up here all alone. Let's go back to the party then ” Jason said as he sat up.

” no, you need to rest okay. I will stay with you “ she finally compromised.

Back at the party hall

Emily placed her palm on her cheeks, she was looking lost and worried. Alaxender have been talking on and on with her for a long while but she didn't even realize.

” what is taking Isabella and Jason so long. What are they doing upstairs “ she thought, running out of patience.

” Uhm excuse me for awhile “ Emily said as she abruptly stood up she couldn't bear with Alaxender's boring discussions any more.

She strolled around the hall she suddenly stopped, when she overheard Mrs Harrison and Mrs Andrew conversation ” Evelyn I think we will become grannies soon. Those kids are always upto something “ Mrs Harrison said while grinning.

Mrs Andrew smiled ” Jason and Isabella love each other alot since they were kids. I knew they will end up together.“

Emily balled her her fist tightly she felt like her heart was ripped apart. She called her brother on the phone ” It didn't work out, our plan failed. All our hard work is for nothing.“

” I also noticed that okay just calm down I will think of something else. I won't rest until I tear them apart. Caleb said.

“ okay brother please come up with a plan. I can't wait to be with jason. I really love him,first I thought it was nothing serious but that night I couldn't get him off my head . I want him all to myself ” Emily said.

“ enough! stop speaking like his more good looking than me ” Caleb yelled angrily he hated jason to the core he bewitched both the woman he loved and his sister.

Emily rolled her eyes “ of course his better than you. Can you even stand next to him. she thought to herself. ” anyways brother do something quick I will hang up now “ said Emily

” Isabella why must you have everything you want. Why? ” Emily said as her voice choked.

The party went on without them. Before you knew it, it was already very late everyone started taking their leave.

Isabella glanced at her watch “ it's so late. I think I should get going ” she said.

Jason stopped her “ wait. I will come downstairs with you ” he said. He was really angry that Caleb was living at Isabella's house.

“ alright since you insist ” she said.

They came downstairs together, Mrs Harrison chuckled.

Isabella blushed scarlet she just recalled what happened a while ago. Mrs Harrison had misunderstood the situation.

“ Bella why don't you spend the night here, after all you are family now ” Mrs Harrison said.

Isabella glanced at Emily.She felt like it wasn't proper to ditch Emily after all she was the one who invited Emily to her house.

“ I would love too. But I don't think it's okay you know Emily is my guest ” Isabella tried to explain.

“ it's alright Isabella I will be leaving for my apartment tomorrow ” Emily said putting on a sad look purposely

Mrs Harrison smiled “ it's alright another time baby. Good night ” she said.

The next morning, immediately the sunrise, Isabella slowly opened her eyes she got up went into the bathroom to freshen up. She wore a blue v-neck crop top and black jeans. She was fed up with the same hairstyle so she turned her hair into a kinky curl which lay above her shoulders.

Most of her stuffs were already at Jason's apartment. She just remembered that she was moving to Jason's apartment today. She hope everything goes smoothly.

She knew Emily must be up as well she knocked at the door before coming in as she had thought Emily was packing her stuffs.

She smiled at Isabella “ why are you standing at the door, come on sit ” she said.

“ morning Millie. Why are you packing so early there's still time ” Isabella said.

Emily glanced at her with mixed emotions. She knew what she was doing was wrong but she really likes jason. “ Just felt like. Thank you for inviting I and my brother to stay at your home ” Emily said.

“ no big deal what are besties for ” Isabella said nonchalantly.

“ Are you moving in with Jason today ? ” Emily couldnt stop herself but ask.

“ Yeah ” Isabella replied. “ not fun right? . I'm so glad that we are just a floor apart ” said Isabella.

“ is Jason coming over to pick you up ” Emily asked.

“ I don't know, the chauffeur will take us there ” Isabella said.

Emily was dissapointed “ maybe you should call to confirm ” she said.

“er am not sure he has woken up yet. I dont want to disturb him” Isabella replied.

At that moment Isabella's cell phone vibrated in her pocket. she glanced at her screen it was a video call from jason. She was extremely surprised

“ is it Jason? ” Emily asked excitedly.

“ gosh relax Millie it's just Jason why are you suddenly so excited ” Isabella stared at her in amazement.

Emily froze “ no I'm not ” she quickly denied.

Isabella picked up. She saw Jason's handsome face on her screen. With his messy hair and droopy eyes She knew that he had just woken up by looking at him. Still he looked even more handsome.

“ hey sleepy head ” Isabella said.

“ whoa you woke up so early today. ” Jason said looking surprised. I was planning to wake you up with my call ”

“ I'm glad your evil plan didn't work. Isabella said.

“ are you really Isabella? but seriously i still cant believe that you are awake. I owe you lunch “ jason said.

Isabella rolled her eyes “ stop exaggerating okay. But am taking the free lunch you know i love free stuffs alot. ” she said while grinning showing her white set of teeth.

Jason sigh “ when did you become like this? Someone might think that you are poor please stop disgracing the Andrew's ” Jason said.

Isabella shot him a look “ you are my fiance right? Aren't you supposed to spend on me ? ” She said.

“ you know I will spend all my life savings on you ” he suddenly said with his magnetic voice.

Isabella blushed she bit her lip she turned back to look at Emily who was pretending to pack her stuff.

Isabella laughed “ you think I will believe you ” she said.

“ you don't have to. I will come pick you up by noon. I have to go now ” Jason said.

“ Okay bye ” Isabella waved as she hanged up.

“ He said his coming over ” Isabella said.

“ Great ” Emily forced a smile. Atleast she will get a chance to see her crush.

Emily suddenly drew nearer to Isabella“ Baby B I wanna ask a question hope you won't mind ” she said.

“ Sure you can ask me anything ” Isabella smiled as she poured herself a glass of water.

“ have you ever had sex with Jason? ” Emily went straight to the point.

“ Ptfff ” Isabella spat out the water from her mouth. Her eyes widened from shock.

“ are you kidding me? Jason..I sex? ” Isabella asked trying to process what Emily said.

Emily plastered a fake smile “ what do you mean? You guys always act all mushy mushy in front of everyone. Is it yes? ” she asked.

Isabella smiled as she tucked a lock of her hair behind her ears “ that's a personal question. ” she said.

“ its okay if you don't want to tell me “ Emily said with a faint smile.

” Am going downstairs am starving. Are you coming? “ Isabella quickly changed the topic.

” I will join you in a sec “ Emily said.
