Chapter 27: When did we arrive?

Isabella closed her eyes while Jason focused on the road. They stopped at a traffic light Jason turned gazing at her.

She felt his gaze as she slowly opened her eyes. “ What is it? ” she asked.

“ talk to me. I know something is wrong you look a little sad today ” Jason said

Isabella gazed outside the window “ I'm not moody, I am fine ” she lied.

The light turned green, Jason started the car. Jason didn't force her to speak; he knew she was going to open up to him when she was ready.

They arrived at globex, Isabella was in a daze she didn't even realise that they had arrived. Jason parked the car at the garage. He came out of the car. He realised she didn't take note at all.

Jason sighs as he walks to the passenger seat he opened the door and pulled her out. she snapped back to reality.

“ When did we arrive ?” she said looking around the surroundings surprisingly.

Jason shook his head, “ what's going on in that little head of yours “ he asked.

” nothing I'm fine “ Isabella refused to speak. She kept insisting that she was fine.

She walked forward leaving Jason behind. Jason sighs loudly ” Ladies are so complicated. Is she upset with me or what “ he couldn't help but mumble as he tried to catch up with her.

Arriving at the apartment, Jason turned on the light and threw himself directly on the couch exhaustively.

“ I will go unpack ” Isabella said while climbing upstairs.

Jason had to stand up,he sigh loudly as he followed behind her. It's like she wasn't going to tell him if he doesn't add pressure.

Arriving at the room, Isabella was about to unzip her luggage when Jason suddenly held her arm. “ Sit here, ” he said, pointing at the bed.

She sat down obediently,she bowed her head not daring to look into his eyes. He sat next to her “ what's wrong? ” he said softly while caressing her hair.

Isabella bowed her head and she could feel her eyes flooded with tears “ it's just that i suddenly miss my Dad ” she said with a choking voice.

Jason sighs he knew something was wrong with her “ it's okay don't cry ” he said.

immediately he said that, it was as if he said the opposite of don't cry. Isabella cried hard like a baby.

Isabella placed her head on his chest while sniffing“ Jason I miss my Dad so much, when mom said she's going to China I felt like she wasn't going to come back like dad ” she said as her tears flowed down her cheeks.

“ Look at you, dont cry like a baby, your parents love you so much. Am sure your dad wouldn't want to see you cry this way. And I promised Aunty that I will take good care of you. ” Jason said, patting her back.

“ If anything happens to mom then I don't want to live again “ Isabella said.

Jason was surprised by what she had said ” what about me? How do you think I will feel if you leave me? '' he said, wiping her tears.

Isabella pouted ” Emma is your girlfriend you can spend the rest of your life with her isn't that what you want “ she said.

Jason suddenly remembered the call he had received the other night when he was drunk.

” erm I have something important to do. I will be back soon “ Jason said.

” Alright I will go unpack “ she said. She unzipped her luggage and what she saw next left her dumbfounded. Her hands even trembled. It slipped and fell. Jason turned around. He was also surprised. It was a box of condoms ” who..who put this in here ” Isabella stuttered.

Jason chuckled, “ Relax, I'm sure it's your mom, ” he said.

“ Why did she do this? I will call her ” Isabella was blushing all over. She felt her cheeks burning.

Jason knew she was feeling embarrassed so he wisely left.

Isabella called her mom “ mom are you the one that kept that c thing in my luggage ” she was feeling shy to say it.

Mrs Andrew nodded “ yeah. baby you see, you and Jason should use protection when having sex you are still young. I don't want you to get pregnant now ” she said.

“ Mom, nobody is having sex ” Isabella said through gritted teeth.

Mrs Andrew chuckled “ you think i'm going to believe you baby, am sure you guys have done it already. you must have lured Jason to your bed “ she said.

Isabella turned red her mom thinks this way about her ” mom! Do you think I am that kind of girl? “ she asked. The highest thing they had done was kissing and nothing else, Jason was the one who always took the initiative.

” Which young lady in her right senses will be able to resist Jason's charm. ” Mrs Andrew said.

Isabella thought and agreed. Her mom is right. But she was not gonna jump on him. She had never even thought of having sex with jason.

She couldn't bother to explain to her mom “ I will hang up now, ” Isabella said.

She continued unpacking her stuff.

Jason sat down in his car searching for that unknown number on his phone.

Jason found the number he quickly called a friend.

“ Hey erm Malcolm, I need you to do something important for me. Are you at home? Jason asked.

” yeah. What do you need ? “ Malcolm asked.

” Okay I will be right there. I need you to trace an unknown number “ Jason said.

” Okay bro “ Malcolm replied.

Jason drove straight to Malcolm's condominium.

” Where is the number? “ Malcolm asked.

Jason passed his phone to Malcolm. He watched him type furiously on his keyboard with his slender long fingers. He was typing at a very fast pace that one might get dizzy by watching. Jason had known Malcolm for almost 2 years. They met at a friend's party and became good friends ever since then.

Malcolm is a computer wizard. He's very amazing and impressive when it comes to hacking. He could really make the impossible possible.

After a few minutes, he passed his laptop to jason. ” This is all the information I could find.“ Malcolm said.

Jason glanced at the screen, he frowned slightly. He didn't know anyone with this kind of name. He also learnt that the person resides in New York too and finally he lay his eyes on the address.

Jason smirked, now he was finally one step ahead of the truth. He wanted to find out what was really going on.

” Thanks dude “ Jason said as Malcolm walked him out of the condominium.

Jason thought for a while and decided to tell Alexander. He quickly looked for Alexander's number on his phone.

” Yo bro , let's meet at bottle grounds club right now, “ Jason said.

” I hope everything is okay? “ Alexander could tell that he sounded quite serious.

” I can't tell you over the phone. “ Jason said.

” Alright, I will be there, ” Alexander replied.

It was already 6pm when Alexander arrived at the bar. He saw Jason sitting close to the window.

Alexander sat down next to him “ so what's going on? '' Alex asked.

Jason narrated everything that happened the other night.

“ Whoa this huge ” Alexander shook his head vigorously trying to process all what Jason said.
