Chapter 19 : love is blind

Caleb was surprised to see Jason but that wasn't his problem he was worried about Isabella who was bleeding.

“ let me see ” Caleb said holding Isabella's hand.

Isabella's palm was bleeding the glass had tore her skin open. Isabella froze and remained silent

Jason couldn't control his anger as he dragged her out of the ward

, her palm kept bleeding profusely. She couldn't remain quiet anymore ” Jason let go. It hurts“ she cried out to him ”

He ignored and kept pulling her he wanted to teach her a lesson today. At that moment Jace and Emily came out of the doctor's office they were astonished to see what was going on. Emily couldn't watch Isabella treated that way she quickly walked up to them. “ Jason am so sorry. This is none of Isabella's fault. I was the one who asked Isabella to come with me, his my brother after all ” Emily said as she lowered her head.

Jason was suprised he didn't know that Emily was that scum bag sister.

But that wasn't the issue now. He ignored Emily as he dragged Isabella to the parking lot where he suddenly let go of her.

“ What's wrong with you ” Isabella asked sounding wronged.

Jason scoffed “ what's wrong with me? Really ? Isabella I should be the one asking you this question ” he said.

Last night you said he was just your ex and he kissed you unexpectedly right? What about today you are in the hospital with him acting like his wife. You didn't even inform me about it “

He continued ” don't you dare forget that am your fiance. And I forbid you hence forth from having anything to do with that scumbag.“

Isabella was enraged as she chuckled sacarstically ” who the hell do you think you are to tell me what to do. Don't you dare forget about the deal we made the other night we made it clear that we won't interfere in each other's life and we are only putting on a show for the elders. And moreover have I ever interfered in your relationship with Emma? Or is it because she's out of the country that you suddenly want me to become your puppet “ she said.

Jason was so stunned he never expected Isabella to say all this things to him. He couldn't help but chuckle “ so this is how you want it right? Let's do it your way ” he said as he got into his car angrily and drove off. She watched as his car disappeared from her sight

Her eyes swamed with tears “ why do you keep treating me this way. you always let me down.” she mumbled. She tried her best to control her emotions before going back into the hospital.

When Emily saw Isabella she rushed up to her. ” Isabella is everything okay “ she asked looking worried.

Isabella forced a smile ” sure have explained everything to him“ she lied.

Emily didn't notice anything amiss in her behavior so she only nodded ” that's great. Your palm is still bleeding come let's go to the nurse ” Emily said as she took Isabella to the nurse.

They stayed at the hospital till 7pm after dinner Isabella held Emily's hand as she tried to pursude her to come home with her. “ Emily come home with me Jace has already assured you that he will take care of caleb for the night. You must be tired you haven't gotten any rest since you arrived at NYC. She said.

Jace chimed in ” yeah go with Isabella I will take care of everything over here don't you worry about a thing I will update you about his condition. “

Emily sigh loudly ” thank you Jace “ she stood up as she went over and gave him a hug ” what will I do without you tonight thank you so much “ she said.

Jace blushed a little as he rubbed the back of his head shyly.

Isabella let out a low laugh as the saying goes love is blind she thought to herself. Just like the way she fell in love with Jason that bastard.

Isabella searched but couldn't find her phone in her bag ” damn “ she cursed out loud.

“ What is it ? Emily asked. Isabella glanced at Emily ” i think I left my phone at your apartment “ she said as she smacked her forehead.

” Then let's just take a cab you can go get it later “ Emily said nonchalantly.

” Uh huh “ she nodded.

They took a cab home it was already past 8 when they arrived. Mrs Andrew and Chloe were sitting in the living room. Chloe was busy chatting with her phone as usual.

” am home “ she announced as she walked into the living room as she changed into her slippers.

” Isabella when did you become so irresponsible “ her mom said.

” mom I …..“ her mother interupted her.

” have been calling you and you didn't pick up don't forget tomorrow is your engagement party and I don't want anything to go wrong. I know you are happy to see Emily but that doesn't mean you could do as you please. You better go upstairs and get some rest cause I don't want any excuses tomorrow “ she said.

Isabella laughed bitterly ” it's always about you and Dad not me “ she said and ran upstairs. Chloe wanted to go after her as usual but Mrs Andrew stopped her.

” Let her be, she will soon realize that she's wrong “ Mrs Andrew said.

Mrs Andrew summoned the maid ” please take Emily to the guestroom upstairs. Make your self at home dear “. Mrs Andrew smiled at her

Emily returned a smile ” thanks Aunty.“ She couldn't help but defend Isabella she felt like everything was her fault “aunty Bella came back late because of me actually my brother was in an accident so we went to the hospital to see him. ” She said.

Mrs Andrew knew Emily's brother but what she didn't know was that Caleb is her daughter's ex boyfriend.

” oh poor Caleb.Who is taking care of him now. Or are your parents in town ? ”

Emily smiled bitterly “ no, his friend said he will take care of him for the night. ”

Mrs Andrew felt bad cause she liked the Anthonys “ I think he should come leave with us so we can all take care of him till he recovers ” Mrs Andrew suggested.

Emily thought for awhile “ I think I should ask Isabella first ” she said.

She didn't want to put Isabella in a difficult position.

It was dawn again. This time Isabella woke up early . As the saying goes Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

She stretched as she got up from her bed. She head to the bathroom to freshen up first. At that moment someone knocked on her door “ come in ” she said.

Mrs Andrew came in holding a dress Isabella's expression changed she didn't want to speak to her mom again. “ baby I know you are angry with Mommy. Won't you forgive me , am sorry that I yelled at you last night” her mom said as she approached her.

“ Mom you didn't even let me explain myself last night “ she said without looking at her mom.

” I know I know it's all my fault. I misunderstood the situation. Am sorry baby ”

Isabella smiled that's all she wanted to hear “ appology accepted” she said.

“ Baby how did you injure your palm? ” Her mom asked all of a sudden.

Isabella had an akward expression on her face how could she tell her mother exactly what happened. “ erm i..i last night i she stuttered she was bad at telling lies. She quickly divert her mom's attention.“ mom last night I left my phone at Millie's I wanna go fetch it ” she said.

“ Sure go dear, make sure you come home immediately don't forget tonight is your engagement party ” her mom said.

“ Dear, Emily told me everything. she said her brother was in an accident so I suggest he move in with us still he recovers. What do you think? ”

“ mom you can do what you want am okay with whatever decision you make ” she said nonchalantly.

She still felt a little guilty with the way she treated Caleb the other night if she hadn't said all those hurtful words he wouldn't have been in this condition that's was the main reason why she agreed.

After breakfast the chaffeur took her there. She went into the apartment . she searched everywhere but couldn't find her phone.

She was feeling extremely exhausted,fustrated and angry money wasn't the problem all her pictures videos and contacts where in that phone she couldn't believe it's all gone. Suddenly she heard a familiar voice “ are you looking for this ” he said waggling her phone

Isabella abruptly turned around she saw Jason relaxing lazily on the door frame looking handsome and charming as usual.

“ it was this jerk who took my phone ” she thought in her head. She clearly remembered what he did yesterday at the hospital she was still mad at him.

“ how did you know that I was here? Anyways give it to me now ” she said as she walked up to him.

Jason laughed naughtily he even waved the phone in front of her deliberately “ I should give it back to you? ” he said.

“ Don't let it fall, just give it to me now ” Isabella said with a straight face.

“ No. Shouldn't you be giving me something in return? “ he asked.

” You are such a jerk, how could you take my personal belonging without my permission and you are shamelessly asking me to give you something in return. “ Isabella retorted angrily.

” Am your fiance so I have all the rights ” he said casually.

Jason glanced at her face he couldn't help but burst into laughter she was red from anger she looked so cute. He felt like teasing her “ am not giving it to you that easily ” he said.

Isabella rolled her eyes at him “ No one is allowed to touch my stuff not even my mom “ she said.

Jason expression suddenly became serious ” enough you want it right? come get it “ he said. She was surprised that he was willing to give it back so easily.

She walked up to him, she was about to grab it when Jason playfully laughed as he flicked his long fingers, pulling it away from her.

She was red with anger she reached out to snatch it again. As she reached out her hand, he took the opportunity to grab her hand and pulled her onto the sofa. He then pinned her against the sofa.

” Jason! Stop messing around, hurry and give me my phone. How dare you. Do you know no shame ? “

At that moment she was fixated upon the phone and didn't realize that they were in a suggestive position.

” You give it back to me “ Isabella swung her short arms.

How could she compete with Jason's long limbs ? Her arms were to short . All he had to do was extend his arms and she could never reach the phone.

” Jason! You jerk ” she was going mad and howled at him.

At this moment when they were close to each other, he could smell the scent of her body she had this sweet fragrance. He thought about the sweetness and softness of the kiss last time.

Isabella could feel him inching closer then she realized that he had pinned her into the corner of the sofa,making it so that they were in a suggestive position if someone where to see they would think….……

His warm breathe landed on her neck making her cheeks hot she could hear his heart beat. she could clearly see her reflection through his eyes.

Isabella retracted her neck and strangely avoided looking into his eyes. It felt like she was sucked into the depths of his gaze Suddenly her heart started beating rapidly.

. Isabella was dumbfounded ” what are you doing“ she said

” What do you think am doing? ” he said in a low and charming voice as he threw the question back at her.

Her mind was in chaos and it was as if she thought whether he might actually want to kiss her.

With that thought in mind she pushed him with all her strength as she got up from the sofa.
