Chapter 13 : yesterday was a roller coaster
Later on Emma came back to the party hall she walked up to Ava and Eva.
" How was it ? " Ava asked anxiously
" done " Emma said giving a beautiful smile.
Ava gave her a thumbs up.
It was time to present the gifts to Jason's grandma. Mrs Harrison looked around, she asked Mrs Andrew " where is Isabella?, I can't find her. " she said.
Jason felt very guilty at the mention of Isabella's name.
" oh Isabella was feeling sick so she went home with Chloe to rest " Mrs Andrew said.
" Okay then I will come pay her a visit tomorrow " Mrs Harrison said.
" mom I will come with you " Jason said. He wanted to apologise to Isabella for everything that happened tonight ,if he goes together with his mom she won't have any other choice but to speak with him.
" you are such a caring husband " Mrs Harrison said jokingly.
They all laughed.
All the elders where the first to go present their gifts, followed by the kids when it was Emma's turn she walked elegantly with her chin proudly high , she gave Jason's grandma a painting worth 20 million dollars it was painted by a famous artist in italy.
Everyone was astonished they couldn't help but whisper to them selves when they saw the painting.
" wow that painting is so famous and expensive where did the Jackson's get it from
" are you sure it's the real painting? One of them said.
" uh huh, who dares to gave grandma Harrison a fake gift, that will be so embarrassing for both parties think about it "
" you are right "
" the Jackson's too are so influential and rich "
They kept discussing, the corners of Emma's lips curled up into a charming smile.
Ava laughed and said to Eva "classic Emma."
Mrs Andrew presented Isabella's gift to grandma Harrison " on behalf of Isabella " she said.
When everyone at the party saw it
They were either staring with bulging eyes or with their mouths wide open.
"Oh my gosh , am I seeing it clearly a lady rubbed her eyes this is Salvator Mundi this painting
Was made by Leonardo da vinci,this painting is worth 450 million dollars it was sold in the auction house Christies in New York.
She said in a very audible voice the lady was too shocked that she didn't realize that she was too loud.
For those who didn't know anything about paintings were immediately elightned, suddenly there was an uproar in the crowd.
Everyone had forgotten about Emma's gift, they were all singing praises of Isabella.
" wow no wonder the Andrew's are one of the powerful and wealthiest family in NYC they deserve this title "
" they have so many connections, they are indeed the most influential like everyone says "
" anyone will be lucky to have such a sweet and generous daughter in-law like Isabella " a lady said.
Emma was so jealous that she bit her lip till it turned pale, she clenched her fist tightly. Why is it Isabella all the time she was tired. she felt like killing Isabella.
Some people glanced at her and even compared her to Isabella.
Emma wore an embarrassed look she really wanted to bury herself underground.
Even Jason was surprised that Isabella spent so much for his grandma, he was overwhelmed with guilt once again.
He wondered what and how she's feeling now. He went upstairs to call her it ranged but she didn't pick, he tried her number a few more times but to no avail, he thought for awhile and called Chloe.
" hey Chloe ,is Isabella okay? " he asked.
" don't ask me questions that you already have the answer to " she said with an unfriendly tone.
Before he could speak again she disconnected the call, he sigh and went back to the party hall.
While at the Andrew's mansion
Isabella was sitting on the carpet in her bedroom, she was in trance she wasn't aware that someone was knocking on her door.
Chloe knocked for awhile before she came in, she was holding a tray filled with Isabella's favorite food.
She put the tray on the dressing table, and sat next to Isabella and said to her in a soft voice " Bella don't do this to yourself because of Jason his not worth it okay " she said.
Bella remained silent, she hadn't even cleaned the makeup on her face or changed her dress.
" come on , you have to eat something you must be hungry " Chloe said.
Isabella forced a smile " I'm okay Chloe, am not hungry. I think you should go rest you must be tired besides am sleepy. Goodnight " she said.
She gave Chloe no room to insist with no other choice, Chloe kept a glass of juice for her then left.
After Chloe left, Isabella went to freshen up, she wore her light pink cotton pajamas she laid down but couldn't sleep she was thinking about everything that happened tonight.
Before you knew it in a blink of an eye. It was already morning.
She woked up early cause she couldn't sleep, when she got up her stomach started rumbling. She pouted her lip.
She hadn't eaten lunch and dinner last night. " Yesterday was a roller coaster. " she mumbled.
She freshened up, put on a Palazzo jumpsuit she styled her hair in a bun as usual, she looked at herself in the mirror her eyes were a little swollen.
She couldn't help but recall everything that happened again. Isabella felt a gush of emotions flood over her heart.
On her way downstairs she tripped and almost fell but someone caught her at the right time her eyes were closed cause she thought she was going to fall she waited for it ,then she slowly perceive that familiar scent she quickly opened her eyes she was totally stunned when she saw herself in Jason's arms his handsome face even looked more charming from a close view, they stared at each other for awhile. Before she recalled that she was angry with him. Jason suddenly carried her by her waist.
" put me down " she said angrily.
Isabella wasn't aware that everyone present where looking at them.
" relax, I won't put you down I will carry you to the dinning room " he said.
Isabella was left speechless (^^)
" look everyone is watching us, I know you are angry with me at least put on an act for them. Don't say a word.just hold on to me tightly. " Jason said.
She was left speechless again,
Isabella had no choice but to hold onto him with her small hands in embarrassment.
He placed her gently on the chair, then he took the sit next to hers.
Mrs Harrison was chuckling, she said to Isabella " Bella did you sleep well "
Isabella glared at Jason and responded " I slept like a baby " she said.
" That's great baby I hope you are feeling better, your mom said you felt sick last night " Mrs Harrison said looking concerned.
" Uh huh am okay now aunty " she said with a faint smile.
" Baby why is your eyes swollen have you been crying, talk to me what's wrong, is it Jason? " Mrs Harrison said.
Jason felt extremely guilty so he lowered his head.
Isabella didn't speak she focused on her food instead, while she was eating Jason suddenly brought his fork to her lips " eat this " he said .
Isabella was a little annoyed with his behavior she looked at everyone and noticed that they were all watching them. With no other choice she let him feed her. She was a little happy, but she couldn't help but remember last night. She abruptly stood up " am full " she said then she walked upstairs.
Back at her room she threw herself on the bed, playing games on her phone.
At that moment someone knocked on the door " come in " she said.
Jason came into her room, he looked around and noticed that her room was very neat he was impressed with her clean lifestyle.
She glanced at him with an unfriendly look " what do you want " she said.
" I want you " he replied.
Isabella was dumbfounded " what did you say? " She yelled.
He was also shocked by what he had just said, it slipped out from his mouth. He quickly said " I want you to go for a walk with me or you I'll become a couch potato" he said looking all serious.
Isabella was speechless again when did he become a thick-skinned person.
" Enough of this Jason,am tired of this fake relationship we have. Just let me be alone for awhile. " Isabella said.
" You dare? " He said in a bossy manner. He lifted Isabella up and carried her by her waist.
Isabella couldn't hold her emotions anymore, she started crying and yelling at him.
