Chapter 76: Chapter 76

Don't go back to things you once didn't appreciate." [Author]

Christian for a moment thought he was wrong to assume that Riley's Best friend would spike his drink. But the smile on his face seemed like he wasn't assuming anything wrong. If more he was just being stupid for even thinking otherwise. He would be a foolish man if he still chose to believe him.

"What did you do to my drink?" He asked, clenching the sides of the table giving Stuart a vicious glare. A murderous aura surrounded him. The face and the scenery in front of him started to fade away, looking almost blurred giving him an illusion that he was seeing two Stuarts and everything was doubled. Whether it was the wine cabinet in the corner of the table or the vases.

The look on Stuart's face changed into contempt and mocking. His soft blue eyes now transmitted a dangerous glint of cruelty. It was as if he was a different person from the man who was talking before this happened.

Receiving no response from the man aside from the mocking smile, Christian's heartbeat rose in chaos, he hurriedly took out his phone to call Cynthia, but the phone landed on the floor.

'No wonder he didn't mind my mocking words at all. He was here for something.'

As he tried to find the phone under the table with blurry eyes, a man was faster than him. Holding his mobile phone in one hand Stuart dangled it in front of Christian's blurry eyes. A moment later, a man dressed in a black uniform came in.

"Sir. I informed Miss Cynthia that your meeting is over and that you both have left."

"Oh, what did she say?" Stuart's blue eyes narrowed, he was still not sure of how stupid assistant Christian had appointed.

"She wanted to come and check once, but I told her the room was occupied by some new guests and it would be a violation of their privacy."

"Thanks, George, Now Guard the door for me please."

"You're welcome, Sir."

Christian was surprised at the new man, even confused, what did he want to achieve by doing all this? At this time the black-uniformed man moved towards the door, leaving the room quietly. Christian wanted to think of something or do something but it was as if he had drunk too much. He was unable to think of anything.

Stuart's voice "Christian Evercast."

brought his attention back to the blue-eyed best friend of his wife. Holding the phone in one hand, Stuart toyed with it for a while.

"Why are you so ugly?"

The image in front of his eyes was blurry, he was seeing two people and he couldn't analyze which was the real one.

"What have you done to my drink Stuart?"

"Oh, that." He pointed a finger at the glass, flashing a charming smile Stuart leaned forward.

"I am very sorry Mr. Evercast. I apologize for doing this and for troubling you. I didn't have a choice. This drink is not harmful in any way, it just contains the highest alcoholic content. It's not a drug of that type so don't worry about it."

"Didn't have a choice? What the fuck do you want?" Christian roared like a lion who was caged.

"I just need some answers Mr. Evercast. You don't have to be so worked up over it."

"Let's have a man-to-man talk Christian Evercast. I know your secret, I know about your identity swapping."

"What the fuck are you talking about what secret huh?" Fury spewed from his nose and he banged the table to stay conscious. A thunderous voice sounded in Stuart's ear, he was shocked by the man's stamina. It was strange that he could still hold onto his sanity even after being so heavily drugged.

Christian didn't know if he knew about his secret or not. Nor does he want to reveal himself in a fit of anger or fear. If he knew, and he had come to him instead of going to Riley. It just meant the man had no evidence to prove his real identity. Christian turned around and tried to stand up with the help of the sidewall and table but fell. He wished he wouldn't have decided to come. He was stuck now. Impatience flashed through his eyes and his body was giving up consciousness. At the moment he wanted to strangle the man irrespective of his old favor of saving his life.

Stuart blinked innocently and rang a bell.

"Since you don't want to answer my questions easily Mr. Evercast, It seems I need to choose the other way around. It won't be painful at all."

After cursing for a while, Christian realized he was losing consciousness. With everything he had in himself, he gripped the glass vase on the table and threw it at Stuart's face. Since Stuart was calling someone he didn't notice and it flew by his eye just an inch away. The glass shattered on the black ground creating a loud clatter. But no one out of the room seems to feel anything at all. He hung up the phone hard as if he wanted to kill Christian. He took a deep breath but it didn't calm him.

Instead, Already Jealous Stuart's heart burned more and more vigorously. It was all because of him that Riley was now married, and she even wants to draw a line between them.

'What a crazy bastard.'

"Shit you will see now what will happen to you!" Stuart scolded Christian. They stayed in stalemate and the noise from the door finally transmitted their attention towards the man who came in. High forehead, slender brows, button nose, thick face, and black narrowed eyes that at the moment looked like it was on a mission. The Man slightly nodded at Stuart with a smile,

"Greetings sir."

Stuart nodded at him and gave a tricky smile to Christian that he was unable to notice because of the foggy eyes.

"Start your work, Mr. Hypno."

The man sat beside Christian gracefully. Immediately a smell of strange perfume instantly surrounded Christian. Whatever the smell was, calmness washed over him in an instant.

"Who are you?" Christian questioned. The man was suited in a pure white-clad suit. It was the only thing he was able to observe because of his already losing emotions.

"Ah. I didn't introduce myself to my patient. Hello Sir, you can call me Hypno." He flashed Christian a smile. From the moment he came in, he was full of mystery and danger.

"Hyp. Hype. Hypno." Christian had only stuttered when both men heard the sound of "Bang". The sedative finally worked on him and he had lost consciousness.
