Chapter 75: Chapter 75

"Having guilt for something doesn't mean you should trust anyone blindly." [Author]

The decorations of the room could be described as super luxurious. A black marble ground shining in the light. The soft music flowing in the atmosphere was different from the main bar. The dim lights shone on Stuart's body. The golden light covered a hazy hue on him. For a moment Christian secretly cursed the man for being that handsome. A tall man with fair glowing skin and a thick mat of black hair. His blue eyes were the most striking feature. The Man was less handsome than him, but still, with the body and eyes combined, he needed no weapon against the female race to get anyone he wanted. He was clad in a blue three-piece suit, his white shirt disheveled, three chest buttons opened.

Riley must be right to fall in love with him. If he was a woman he would like him to.

Stuart was the first one to find his voice. His eyes pop up at Christian's yelling and he pretends to act nonchalant. It would have worked if Christian didn't notice his clenching of palms.

"She forcibly kissed me." He says, his voice casual, accent English and for a moment Christian forgot what he saw, as his laugh resonates in the room.

'Cynthia? Forced her kisses on him? What was he a child? What kind of weird excuse was it?'

Stuart's brows pinch together with worry. He glared at Christian with hatred. Not paying any attention to both of them Christian sat down, his posture relaxed while his one hand went on the top of the sofa. Though he purposefully sat opposite Stuart, noticing Cynthia was now standing quietly in a corner not meeting his eyes at all. The smile on his lips grew deeper.

Ignoring them he admitted the room was carefully designed. Unlike the modern and chaotic opulence of the hall, the room was historically furnished and quiet. Soundproof. stopping the music outside the room. It was packed with a round table surrounded by a spacious white sofa set. The table was decorated with a Vase of Roses. The walls were tangerine and yellow while several bottled drinks were placed on a corner wine cabinet containing various kinds of alcohol.

There was a transparent wall on the east side from where anyone inside the room could peek out at the atmosphere below on the dance floor.

"She forced you huh?" Christian asked with a hint of teasing in his voice.

Feeling his sarcastic tone, Stuart licked his lips glancing at Cynthia.

"Tell your boss what happened here, Miss Cynthia."

The sudden question and glare made Cynthia feel very awkward and for a moment she wanted to escape. However, to keep her job she must tolerate it. So she gave a sweet smile to Stuart. One that was fake and said,

"Nothing happened, sir."

"You." Stuart was embarrassed at her remark and for a moment he wanted to laugh at both of them. 'Guess birds of a feather flock together.'

The moment he had stepped into the room and sat down he had noticed Christian's secretary's weird behavior. She seemed to have drunk a lot and was on the verge of crying. Her eyes were red, puffy. The moment he asked her what happened, she had started hitting him amidst screaming. To stop her from touching him he had no choice but to hold her wrist. However, the moment he did, she stumbled upon him and started kissing him. He was trying to remove herself from him but she was as if a woman on a mission and did give him a chance at all. And that was the moment Christian had arrived, he didn't want to explain to him but considering how he lives with Ril-boo, he needed to explain to prevent any misunderstanding between them. But it seems she will not make it clear. He had an ambition and maybe his secretary leaving them will be more beneficial for him. He had to seize the opportunity today. After all, time was limited for him. Seizing the man's ugly face, Stuart wanted to throw up. After all, he had seen his real face.

'What is the most important reason for a man to live with such an ugly face?' Remembering his mission, He cleared his thoughts and gave a sweet smile to the man sitting opposite him.

Christian was having suspicions against his smile.

'No CEO would smile at me like him! At least not after he had insulted or mocked him!'

"Excuse me, sir, I need to use the restroom. You gentlemen please proceed with your contract issues."

Lifting an eyelid at her, Christian nodded and she flew away from the room. Looking at her weird way of walking Christian seemed to notice she seemed drunk.

'Cynthia rarely drinks. Why did she do it today?'

With a mental note to ask her the reason, after the meeting is over. He looked over to Stuart as they discussed their issues.

Half an hour later, Stuart decided to act on his plan. He rang a bell and a former waiter with a woman appeared in the room. He looked up and down at the woman, she seemed more like an escort to him. She was wearing a short black dress with thick makeup. While the woman did the same, she was disgusted with Christian's face. So she chose to admire Stuart. She smiled seductively at him but he only asked the waiter to escort the lady out of the room.

"Hello, sir. This is Susan, is she to your satisfaction?"

"We don't want women here. Please take her out." Stuart said dismissively.

With no choice to retort, she tried again to touch his cheek and talk enthusiastically but he avoided her hand. The sudden movement from him made her feel awkward and she was brought out by the waiter.

"What kind of wine would you like to have sir?"

"French Cheval blanc."

"I don't want to drink, please pour for this gentleman only," Christian said looking at the waiter kindly.

"It's to seal our deal Mr. Evercast. Don't you respect me?" Stuart said, his eyes showing a kind of dangerous gleam.

"Please don't embarrass me Mr. Evercast."

Although the man was his love-rival. He was also a man who saved him and his wife at the cost of his life and for that, he needed to accept his small demand. He was embarrassed so he nodded in affirmative to the waiter.

The first drink made his body feel numb, it even made him feel a bit nauseated. Subconsciously he tried to get up from his seat but wasn't able to stand up at all.
