Chapter 74: Chapter 74

"Some Accidents happen to because of the will of God as a cure to heal your wounds." [Stuart]

......

Christian slid behind the wheel and slipped on his sunglasses. Before turning the key, he made sure he hadn't forgotten anything. There wasn't much; in addition to the contract papers and an exclusive card of the South club, he had received from Andy as a gift along with some other cards in his wallet. He glanced at his watch. It was a little after 2 and he had half an hour to reach the place. Shifting the engine into engine he backed out before heading towards the Southern part of the city.

The first few miles were smooth without any traffic and he was quite ecstatic to drive too because of his good mood. The sun glinted through wispy clouds trailing over the tree line illuminating the branches of the trees on both sides. his mind wandered to the early afternoon of the day.

His day was well spent with Riley. They were enjoying each other's presence, stories about their childhood. She was blending with him. Her new version was entirely unfamiliar, sweet, and touchy. Her behavior was a little awkward but it was proof enough she was trying to let down her walls for him. They had only stopped talking while preparing lunch when a call from his valued assistant disturbed their precious moments. and he had to leave for his emergency meeting with Stuart. It wasn't exactly an emergency meeting since he had ordered Cynthia to do something last night but he had no idea she would arrange it this fast. But then again she was always aware that anything that involved Riley must be done without a delay. Yet now he was regretting it. He had to leave her with the stupid excuse of how his boss wanted to give him salary for a week. She had made a face at that. It was a very minor reaction that he would have missed if he wasn't observing her face. It seemed his wife was a talker but only with people she wanted to talk to. Cynthia was already in the South Club and she had informed the Man wanted to meet him directly and he wouldn't sign if he didn't reach there. He eventually stopped his thoughts to waver. It was a great day for him and he needed to make sure it stays that way even if he had to deal with his Love Rival. Perhaps he couldn't be called a Love Rival Now. Could he? He smiled at his thoughts and focused on the highway, he made better time. He had reached the outskirts of Newyork. The drive was eventful, and the world beyond the car windows seemed beautiful to him. People were riding bicycles and there were few people on the sidewalks walking and laughing. It took him a moment to notice he had reached the place. Pulling onto the street of South Club, he threw his keys to the valet of the parking lot and approached the door. The doorman nodded at him in greeting and he nodded to make sure the man had his response.

A Man immediately helped him to remove the coat and another man appeared to assist him to the room where the meeting was held and he frowned.

'Why the hell Did Cynthia choose a club to hold a meeting? Stupid woman.'

He rolled the sleeves of his white button-up shirt since the temperature had increased by at least 5 or 6 degrees the moment he stepped in.

Glancing around the bar he could feel his mood changing for the worse. The heavy music blasted his ears off as he took in The guests hanging around the dancing area. They were in nothing but skimpy clothes. Women in bikinis while men were not even wearing shirts. His disgust increased when random women checked him out shamelessly. Lust shining in their eyes.

"Hey, Sir. Would you like to drink with me?" A woman in a black bikini approached him boldly. Her face was thick in makeup but her body was a true hourglass figure. If he could ignore her face, he would say she was beautiful. For a moment he didn't say anything appreciating the women's courage to try to seduce him. As she took extra steps closer to him, and her 5-inch-heels clanked against the floor he distanced himself by walking a few steps back. The woman was on her way to place her hand on his shoulder and due to his back footing, she was unable to regain her momentum. Her upper body came down as if she was bowing to him. The Assistant who was walking before him looked back and glared at the woman.

"Mona Leave sir Be. He is not someone to trifle with."

"You can go away, Miss Mona. I am not interested." He said strolling away from the woman and the man ran behind him.

"I am sorry sir. She is new, I hope you can forgive us."

Christian snorted but chose to nod.

"Don't talk nonsense. Just lead the way."

"Sorry about that sir. This way please."

The Man eventually led him to an elevator and they stopped on the 5th Floor. The Man sighed in relief as they stopped on a Black Wooden door, opening the door he muttered a happy visit and fled away. Christian could feel his emotions through his actions. The man was stressed the whole time he was with him.

The Moment he opened the door, he was mortified. A woman was making out with a man. Although he couldn't see her face he was sure it was her. His Assistant Cynthia. That curvy body and short figure. With fast steps, he made his way towards the couple. When he was near them he coughed deliberately, almost near them and she finally stopped sucking the stranger's face. The moment she turned around she fell and his gaze locked on the man's face. Christian was stunned looking at Man's face. The Man was Stuart.

"What the Fuck!" Christian's voice roared inside the silent room.
