Chapter 65: Chapter 65

"Is that all?" He asked and I nodded placing the pen down.

"Okay, tell your boyfriend to come and write his own too," He said and I blinked at him.

He pointed at Quinnel and I looked back at Quinnel before I looked back at him and nodded my head in understanding.

"By the way, he likes you really. I mean is it normal to suffer a third level Concussion from several beatings from a guy of your own mate?!"

"A third level?" I asked and he nodded his head.

"I tell you. It's really fortunate that the parents aren't pressing any charges. Guess they know the ways of their boy." He mumbled and I sighed.

Or they weren't at home and have not even been informed about this incident. Or, it was what he said. They knew his character.

I walked to Quinnel who was sitting on the chair with his head bowed as he studied the ground.

"He's calling you." I said nudging him and he looked up at me. I nudged my chin towards the counter and he sighed before he stood up.

I looked at my side to see Coach, Zaire, Ashley, Connie and the small girl and her mother.

Once Quinnel was done writing down his own side of the story, they said we could leave.

He came back soon after and I saw the policeman that was standing at the counter in front of where you're to write your statements down looking at Quinnel and then he chuckled with a click of his tongue. He kept his book and waved at us.

"Thank you sir." I greeted and he smiled.

"What did you write?" I asked nudging Quinnel.

He shrugged and turned to me grinning. He looked to Zaire and threw him a wink. I scoffed and stood up. Jake stood after me and then Ashley and Connie.

I walked to the small girl as her mother stood on her feet. I crouched down to her level so I was looking into her brown eyes.

"Hey there." I greeted and she grinned.

She was dressed in a pink cute gown that reached a little below her knees. Her hair was packed in two pigtails and tied with a pink ribbon.

"Please let me trouble you. Help me look after her for a little while please." The woman said and I nodded my head.

"Sure. No worries."

"Hi." She replied and giggled at me.

"That was quite brave you know?" I ask and she nodded her head slowly.

"People say I'm too bold for my age but I just flick em the finger. It's not like I care about their snarky comments," She replied and I gasped I'm surprise.

"Finger?" I ask and she nodded.

"The middle finger." She replied with a wink and raise her middle finger at me. I giggled at her while shaking my head.

"Your braveness saved our asses today." I said and she nodded.

"I know... And you're welcome by the way." She said winking and I giggled.

"Thank you."

"I'm Beauty by the way... What's your name?" She asked and I grinned.

"Navaeh."

"That's a pretty name." She commented and I shook my head.

"Uhn uhn... Yours is way more prettier than mine. Yours is like... On a higher level..." I said raising my hand so it was higher than her.

"... While mine is like... On a lower level." I said shaking my head as I brought my hand to make it almost come in contact with the ground.

"Aw! That's a lie." She said laughing.

"I'm not lying to you. I would never lie to you." I said and she snorted.

"But you are! Let's ask him then!" She said pointing randomly at someone.

"Who?" I asked turning my head to see her hand pointing at Jake who was looking at his feet.

"Uh... He's not-" I started looking for an excuse when she walked away from me.

"And she's going. Okay." I said and stood up following her.

"Fine boy," She called and Jake looked up slightly at her.

I saw the tip of her ears turn pink and her cheeks was a light a shade of pink.

"Yeah?" Jake asked in a cheery voice.

"What name do you think is more beautiful. Beauty or Navaeh?"

Jake looked up at me and I shook my head pointing at Beauty's head.

"Don't look at her! Be trustful and tell me, which one do you think is more beautiful?" She asked and I sighed.

"Uh, it's... You're Beauty?" He asked and she nodded her head her ponytail swinging freely and her eyes now big and wide as a Doe's.

"Well, that name actually fits your cute face. But to me, Beauty is a more beautiful name." He replied and she rolled her eyes cutely.

"Of course you'll say that. You know her, don't you? Let's ask someone else that we don't know. Both me and you, to be impartial." She said and I sighed.

"Alright then. Who do you have in mind?" I asked and she looked around before she grinned and pointed at the policeman.

"Beauty?!" Someone yelled and she turned her head to the petite woman whose face was scrunched up in worry.

"Mom is looking for me already. I have to go now," She said in a defeated voice.

"But it was nice seeing you! Navaeh!" She yelled running to her mother who now crouched on her knees so her daughter could hug her.

"Same here!" I replied with a wave.

"And by the way, my name is more beautiful than yours!" She said with a wink and a smile and I giggled.

"I'm not disagreeing!" I replied with a smile and hers widened before she grinned and fell into her Mother's open arms.

"Thank you!" I yelled and she waved at me.

"No worries!" She yelled and I bowed at her mother who replied with a wave.

Both of them then waves at everyone and they turned around leaving the Police Station.

I watched them with a smile until they were out of my sight. I looked up to see everyone looking at me- Except two girls.

"What's up?" I asked and they shook their heads before the coach clapped his hand.

"Okay... Let's go!" He yelled and walked towards the car. Jake followed after him with his head only looking on the ground, and his shoulders drooped.

I saw Ashley and Connie walk out of a corner and without sparing anyone a glance they walked to the car that the coach had brought them in.

I looked to Zaire and Quinnel in question of what happened and they shrugged as well.

They walked to the car and I also followed after them. The Coach started the car and we drove out soon enough.

"Coach, are you sure you know the way?" Quinnel asked when we passed by a sign board.

"Of course. This is on so I should get lost." He replied pointing at the screen in front.

"But it said to turn right at the sign board. Which is way back." Quinnel said gesturing at the road behind us.

"It did? I really don't get how it works." Coach replied pulling the brakes.

"Then use the voice instead! Are you trying to get us lost?" He asked and Coach scoffed before he turned the car around.

"There. I turned around already. Now tell me, how do I set it to the voice own?" He asked a d Quinnel chuckled.

"You press here..." He started and I saw the coach looking down at the screen while still keeping his eyes on the road.

They were like a pair of father and Son. I have noticed the coach and Quinnel are kind of close.

He was looking in between the screen and the road that I was scared for a second until I saw the familiar tall building that we stayed at.

"Oh! There is the hotel!" I exclaimed pointing at the tall building that's stood out and immediately everyone looked up.

"It indeed is!" Ashley exclaimed with a smile.

"Oh? The Coach didn't drive the wrong way this time around!" Quinnel yelled and the Coach turned to him.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" He asked and Quinnel chuckled.

"Oh come on now... You can't say you don't remember when you got us lost while trying to go to a basketball game. Have you forgotten?" He asked and Coach looked at him in confusion.

Then suddenly it clicked as his eyes widened and he cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Well, that was one time."

"Yeah? There is always a one time for everything." Zaire chipped in and the Coach glared at him through the center mirror.

"Shut your mouth, son." He grumbled and Zaire shrugged.

"Was just saying." He said and I laughed at their banter.

Jake also joined in the laughter some seconds later until everyone in the car was laughing.

The car pulled up in front of the hotel and we opened the door slipping out.

"Alright, I'll go around and drop the car in the garage. I want all of your asses in your room. No where else but your rooms. I'll see you all again by 7pm for dinner. Understood?" He asked and we muttered a yes sir.

"Good." He said and drove away.

"Let's go in." Ashley said taking the lead as she slipped into the lobby followed by Connie and Zaire.

"Uhh, go on. We'll meet up with you in a while." Quinnel said holding my wrist to prevent me from going after Ashley.

"Okay. Just don't get into trouble. That Station was scary." She replied but my eyes was on Jake who was now standing in front of the elevator waiting for it to come down as his eyes was lifelessly looking at the number that was counting down from the 60th floor.

I thought he was already laughing! I sighed and bowed my head before I realized everyone was silent.

I looked back up to see everyone looking at me including Connie.

"Umm, Ashley? Can we talk?" She asked and I was fast to look at Ashley's face.

She looked to Zaire before she nodded slowly and hesitantly.

"Sure," she replied walking to the dining hall.

Connie waved at us which I replied to of course, but the two guys didn't.

The elevator dinged bringing my attention to it and I saw Jake step inside with his hand in his pocket. He turned around and met my gaze. He gave me a weak smile and a wave before he bowed his head again.

"Hey, go and help me check if he's okay, please?" I asked Zaire and he looked away from Jake and then me, then Quinnel before he looked back at me and nodded.

"Sure. He's my friend as well." He said and walked to the elevator before it would close. He stepped into it and waved at us which I replied back before pointing at Jake.

He nodded his head with an okay gesture with his hand and I smiled.

I looked up to see Quinnel staring at me. I looked away with an eye roll and snatched my hand from him.

"Thank you for your help with the dude. I'm really grateful but it still doesn't clear the fact that you... Well, whatever it is you did that we both know about- so, I don't think I want to talk to you. Adios." I rambled and made to move to the dining hall to drink a cold drink to chill my head.

"Heaven." He called and I sighed.

"Right, sorry. I totally forgot your Cardigan." I say with another sigh as I untie the cardigan around my waist. I was about to untie the first knot when he spoke again.

"Heaven." I didn't turn around as I worked with the knots that seemed to have tied themselves around each other more like freaking vines!

"Jesus! I am loosening the cardigan, aren't I? Have patience-"

"Heaven?" He called placing a hand on my arm cutting my sentence off.

I didn't say anything as I kept loosening the cardigan despite his hold on my arm.

"Heaven?"

"Stop calling me! Jeez! And my name is Navaeh. So stop calling Heaven! Heaven! Heaven!" I snapped before he could even continue.

I turned around finally having undone the stupid knots as I slam the fabric into his hand ignoring the look in his eyes.

"Thank you for the cardigan." I said and turned on my heels to walk away when he pulled me to him and I gasped for I was surprised and then he wrapped his arm around my waist.
