Chapter 40: Chapter 40
Navaeh
"So, what do you guys think? Should I go for the trip or stay at home with you guys?" I asked both sisters and they looked at me like I had suddenly grown three horns.
"What?" I asked beating the egg.
"Why won't you go on the trip? I mean, this trip is only for the last year's students right?" Aerin asked and I nodded my head taking the salt shaker off the drawer.
"So there wasn't one when you were in 11 grade? Or 10th grade?" Aelin continued.
I actually don't see where this whole question and answer tug is going but I nodded my head nonetheless.
"So the only one that you'll ever get to go on in High School, the one and only... You're planning on staying out?!"
"You're planning on staying out?!"
They yelled the end together and I jumped almost knocking the pan on the gas cooker over.
We decided to fry eggs and eat it with bread since I bought bread and egg among many other things from the supermarket.
The oil was already in the pan and I was beating the five eggs presently in a bowl-
That is not the point!
"Uhh, yeah?" I replied and they had a glare on their face.
"Are you going crazy?"
"Hey, El... what's the number for the mental Institute?"
"Uhh,I'm not crazy guys and I'm standing right here." I said gesturing to myself.
They looked at me before moving close to each other and then faced each other whispering stuffs.
"Okay, so... When we call them and they take her away, they would ask for an adult. A guardian perhaps." Aelin started and I rolled my eyes placing and my hands on my hip.
"I know. We don't have a guardian. Our supposed guardian is the one that's crazy. Oh maybe we could ask our neighbor to fill in for her?"
"Do you think she'll agree? She always acts somehow... I don't crazy."
"She definitely would. Now do you remember the number for the Mental Health Institute?"
"Again guys!" I yelled and they looked at me.
"I'm standing... Standing right here. I can hear all what you're saying, cause I'm standing right here." I said with a softer tone and they rolled their eyes.
"Oh, I'm sorry... Did you finally come to your senses?"
"Do we still need to call?" Aelin asked in a joking tone with a smirk on her face.
"Ha ha. Very funny." I replied turning around to grab the bowl of whisked egg and they released their laughter while I poured the egg into the hot oil.
Once it was in it, I turned my head to them.
"Okay so, jokes apart. You're going on that trip." Aerin said and Aelin nodded her head.
"What about you guys?" I asked and they rolled their eyes yet again.
"Didn't Mrs Ashford offer to help us out while you're gone?" Aelin asked and I couldn't answer.
"I'm still worried though." I mumbled and they heard me clearly cause I heard them release a sigh.
"Look, Vee. We get it. You're our sister–" Aerin started.
"–More like our Mother." Aelin cut off and I smiled.
"Yeah, more like our Mother. Anyways, you want to make sure we're safe ever since our parents disappeared on us or should I say, their work got to the top list, but you've done more than enough for us ever since then and for that we're grateful. So so grateful. But really, we can't keep whining like babies–"
"–Cause we aren't babies." Aerin got cut off by Aelin again.
"Of course not. She herself doesn't dare say we're babies. Right, Vee?" Aerin asked and both heads snapped to me.
"Well, I mean-" I was choked by own words when I met with Aelin's glare. God, this girl is scary.
"You guys are definitely not babies! What, babies? That's so stupid." I said with a nervous laugh as I walked to the pan that was frying on low heat.
"Anyways, we want you to have your life to tye fullest. It's your last year. You can't spend it moping around like some lone kid. I'm pretty sure even the lone kid in your class is going on that trip." Aelin continued.
"So we want you to go on that trip. Enjoy yourself. We will be fine. We can take care of ourselves."
"Yeah, we can. And more so, you think that woman will take care of Caspian and not us and she would go Scot free? Yeah, I don't think so. I'll unleash hell on her, she would regret taking us into her house." Aelin said and I threw my head back laughing. The two of them joined in the laughter and I shook my head at us.
"Alright. Lunch is served." I said and they walked to the dining room before me with Aelin holding three plates in hand and Aerin holding the full loaf of bread.
They set it down on the table and I placed the pan of fried eggs in the middle of the table.
"Hold on!" Aelin yelled as soon as I opened the pan.
"Before anything is going to happen, I'm taking the most brown part of the egg. No arguments cause I laid claim on it first." I blinked at her and then looked to Aerin who was glaring at her.
Oh right. They both loved the brown part! Somebody kill me! I'm about to settle a bloody fight!
"Oh why do you get to have it all the time?! I want it this time around! You did this same nonsense the last time we had fried eggs! I'm not going to accept this! I'm having the brown part this time around and there is nothing in hell you're going to do about it." Aerin replied.
Over food, both sisters are tigers. It frightens me to even step into the fight.
"Oh yeah, right!" Aelin snorted.
"I already laid my claim on it. Cause obviously if my memory serves me well-" Aelin continued but was cut off by Aerin.
"It obviously doesn't! Cause if it did you would remember you promised me with that lips of yours that I would get the brown part next time!"
"Oh Goodness! I'm not leaving the brown part to you!"
I watched them bicker amongst each other before turning my face to my side.
"This is definitely contrasting to their talk of not being babies some minutes ago! They said they weren't a baby just about 10 minutes ago and they're at each other necks for the brown part of the egg! "
"Right, Vee?!" They asked together and I gulped having missed the question.
"What was the question?" I asked and immediately their rants covered me.
