Chapter 74: Chapter 74

TWO MONTHS LATER

Everything had changed in Delilah's life. Now she was living in her old pack.

She was staying with the Alpha's family in the pack house.

In those two months, she never felt any need because before thinking about anything the Alpha arranged everything for her.

Delilah was quite surprised about Alpha's behavior. Because why would anyone be so happy to let her stay with them?

Luna was also a good woman. She adored Delilah and told her that she could think of her as her mother.

Delilah's step parents were in prison for trying to sell Delilah. When Delilah came back to this pack, the Alpha already punished her step parents for that.

"How are you feeling now?"

Delilah heard a voice behind her.

She turned around and saw Alpha Simon. Simon was Alpha Elias's son. He was soon to be head Alpha of the pack.

Since Delilah started to stay in the pack house, they became good friends.

Simon was a few months older than Delilah.

"I am fine." Delilah replied.

"I don't think so." He said and put his hand over her forehead to check her temperature.

"You still have a light fever." He frowned.

"Stop worrying too much, Simon." Delilah said and chuckled.

She always felt that Simon was protective of her.

Delilah thought she really got a family there.

"What are you doing here?" Simon asked as he glanced at the park, a few children were playing there.

"Nothing. Just watching them." Delilah replied.

"You are missing your childhood, aren't you?"

"Well, you can say that."

She was actually missing her childhood. She never got the chance to play like that in her childhood after her mother's death.

It was not easy for her to live a caged life for years. And then she had to endure mental torture. Sometimes her step mother abused her too.

Delilah closed her eyes and sighed as she thought about old things.

"Let's go back." Simon said.

"I will come back soon. You go ahead."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

Simon nodded and left from there.

Delilah walked inside the park and sat on a bench.

She looked at those children happily until she heard their mothers.

"I heard King Everett had won another pack last night." A woman said.

"Of course, he can. He is Lycan, the most powerful rank. I bet he doesn't even have to kill those Alphas, they might fly away to save their lives from him." Another woman said and chuckled.

"I heard another thing."

"What?"

"That he is very handsome."

"Oh come on. Everyone knows that. Who thought the beast everyone called was so handsome!"

Delilah sighed. She heard these types of things almost every day.

She could not believe how those women could talk about another man like that when they already had their own man, they even had kids.

Every time Delilah heard about Everett's good looks, she thought about him. He was a handsome man indeed.

Whenever they spoke out his name, her heart skipped a beat but she controlled herself each time.

In those two months Everett never tried to contact her.

Delilah felt funny that she loved that man. She even heard that very soon he would take a queen for himself.

Sometimes Delilah wanted to remove every memory of him. His memories only gave her pain.

She could not forget what he told her.

He did not like her a little bit.

She was just a slave and he set her free.

She became his Omega for some time and he abandoned her just like others.

Although Delilah was living a good life, she felt alone. She missed the days she spent with Everett.

Those days when he accepted her and told her that he would give them a chance.

She missed their kiss.

She missed him.

But she hated him also.

She hated that he never felt the same as she felt for him.

With a broken heart, Delilah went back to the pack house.

When she reached the pack house, she saw everyone was talking about something.

"Delilah, it's good that you have come." Alpha said.

"Yeah, Alpha. Is everything okay?" Delilah asked as she saw the desperation on his face.

"Everything is fine. We are going somewhere today. You should go and get ready."

"Where are we going, Alpha?"

"You will get to know when we go there."

"Okay."

Delilah did not question him again. She believed him and his family. They gave her shelter and adored her like their own child. How could she disbelieve them?

Delilah went to her bedroom. She heard a knock.

She opened the door and a maid came with a dress.

"What is this for?"

"For tonight. Please wear this."

Delilah was surprised. It was a maroon colored long dress. It looked simple yet gorgeous, like a royal dress.

Delilah took the dress from the maid and thanked her. The maid left her room.

Delilah looked at the dress for some while then started to get ready.

When she looked at herself in the mirror she found herself beautiful.

"This dress made me look beautiful. Otherwise, how can a broken woman look like this?" She told herself and went downstairs.

When Alpha and Luna saw her they raised their brows.

"You look so beautiful, darling." Luna said and held her hands.

Delilah thanked her. Alpha Elias and Simon also praised her.

"I didn't know you could look like this too. You were a pretty girl before wearing this. Now you are a gorgeous young woman."

Delilah chuckled when she heard Simon.

"You look handsome too."

"That's always who I am." Simon said and that made others laugh.

Delilah sat in the car with Simon. Alpha and Luna went in the other car.

The car was started by the driver. Delilah looked out the window. She leaned on her seat and focused on the outside.

"Where are we going, Simon?"

"To attend the royal party."

Delilah paused her gaze outside. She blinked and turned her head to Simon.

"Royal party?"

"Yeah, royal party. We are going to the next kingdom. The king invited every pack's Alpha and their family to get introduced."

"T-The K-King?"

"I know he is the beast we all always talked about before. But he is not that scary of what others say. I heard about him. He looks good and not ugly at all. But he is a Lycan so you can take that as a warning. Always stay away from him."

Delilah was in a daze. They were going to the royal palace? His palace? That meant she would see him?

Delilah was not ready for it.

She felt her heartbeat was getting slower in tension. How would she face him? He did not like her and let her leave the palace, which meant she was a shameless one. He would think she still wanted to go to his place after so many things happened.

"Can I deny going there?" Delilah asked in a lower tone.

"What are you saying? Why do you not want to go there? You will get to see the palace and the kingdom." Simon said. He did not know about Delilah living there before.

She did not tell others anything related to her and Everett.

"I just don't want to."

"Sorry, Father thinks of you as his daughter, so you have to be with us there. I think he and mother really like you. I do too."

The last sentence he said in a whisper which Delilah could not hear.

The car stopped when it was evening time.

They did not come from the forest side. They went there with another shortcut route so they could arrive early.

She came out of the car. Simon offered his hand and helped her out of the car.

Delilah's eyes fell on the royal castle.

"Still the same." She mumbled.

"Did you say something?"

"N-No" Delilah replied.

She looked around and saw many guests going inside the palace.

"Let's go inside."

Simon took Delilah inside the palace.

Alpha Elias and his Luna had already reached there.

She saw Conor and Everett's other friends were there too.

When Conor saw Delilah he headed to Alpha Elias, he smiled and went to them.

"Hello, Alpha Elias."

"Hello, Alpha Conor. Congratulations on your new winning territory."

"Yeah, all thanks to our king. He is so powerful that he killed hundreds of wolves in a night."

Hearing that Alpha Elias gulped. He smiled at Conor. "Good to hear that."

Conor nodded and behaved like he was meeting Delilah for the first time.

"Hello." Conor greeted.

"Hello" Delilah greeted him back.

"By the way, where is your king?" Simon asked Conor.

Delilah also looked around to get a glance at the man who was the king there.

Her eyes were desperate to see him again, but one side of her heart was upset and resisting seeing him.

"Here he is."

Jack said and everyone turned to the stairs.

There he was the king of all ranks, King Everett.

Delilah was stunned when she saw the most handsome man of her life.

'He cut his hair short!'
