Chapter 75: Chapter 75
Delilah could not let her eyes off from Everett. She always thought of cutting his hair. She knew he would look good but that much good, she had never thought of.
Everyone's reaction was the same as Delilah's. They could not look away from his handsome face.
Delilah could see there were no scratches on his cheeks. So clean and fair.
When Everett was coming down, Delilah felt that her heart beat was getting fast. She tightened her jaw and looked away from him.
Delilah could see other Alpha and their families. So many young and beautiful girls came to attend the royal party just to meet the king.
Delilah saw pleasure in those girls' eyes when they looked at Everett as if he was their dreamy boy.
Of course, they were pleased. Their parents might take them to introduce them to the king. It was not a secret that the king would take a queen for himself soon. So it was a great chance for them and their daughters.
Delilah glanced at Everett. Many Alphas went to him and introduced their family to him.
"We will go to him after the rush." Alpha Elias spoke out.
Luna and Simon nodded. But Delilah was not happy about it.
"Alpha, I can stay here when you all go to meet the king."
Alpha Elias frowned. "Why? You are one of my family members now. You have to come with us."
Delilah smiled at him and nodded. She could not deny him again. She liked how Alpha called her his family member since she did not have any family.
When Alpha Elias saw Everett talking with his men he turned and said,
"Let's go."
Delilah felt an unknown fear raised inside her heart. What if Everett told something in front of Alpha Elias and his family? What if he somehow humiliated her?
Delilah lowered her head and stepped toward where Everett was.
"King Everett."
Alpha Elias greeted him and Everett turned to him. His eyes fell on his family and then on Delilah.
Delilah was still looking at the floor. She was listening to their conversation.
"Alpha Elias, am I right?"
"Yes, yes. It's a great honor that King Everett knows me."
"Of course, I know you."
Alpha Elias smiled and introduced themselves.
"This is my Luna, he is my son Simon and she is like my daughter, Delilah."
Everett's gaze stuck on Delilah.
"Delilah"
When Delilah heard her name she raised her head and her eyes met with Everett.
She felt her heartbeat stop and she could not breathe.
She was so busy staring at him that she could not see his hand.
"Delilah. Shake hands with King Everett."
She heard Alpha Elias and looked down. She saw Everett offer her a hand.
Delilah slowly placed her hand on his palm. He grabbed it immediately.
She felt a familiar sensation in her hand. The warmth of his palm covered her palm totally.
It reminded her of every memory of them together.
Simon cleared his throat and Delilah came out of her thoughts.
She tried to break the lock of her palm. She made an effort to move her hand, but Everett was holding her hand tightly.
She looked into his eyes. There was an amazement in his eyes that she could not read.
After a few seconds, he let go of her hand. Delilah looked away from him.
"Nice to meet you, King Everett." Simon said and offered his hand which Everett did not take. So Simon took his hand back.
When Alpha Elias was talking about his pack with Everett, Delilah moved from there and went to the couches where other guests were sitting.
She saw that some girls were throwing furious looks at her.
At first, she could not understand their looks, but then she realized that it was all because of Everett. He held her hand and everyone saw it clearly.
Delilah ignored others and sat on the couch alone.
After a few minutes, Simon came and sat beside her.
"What's wrong?" He asked her.
"Nothing."
"Are you okay?" He asked.
Delilah turned her head to him. "Why are you asking?"
"I saw what he was doing." Simon said angrily.
Delilah looked away from him. "No, that's nothing." She mumbled.
"What nothing? Just because he is a king does not mean he can do anything." He whispered.
Delilah nodded. Simon was right.
In addition, Delilah was not his slave anymore nor did she have any relationship with him so she should stay away from him.
"Look at his aura. He is a dominant king. I just fell in love with him at first sight." A young woman who was sitting on the other couch let out.
"Don't be so arrogant. He is mine. I will be his queen." Another woman said.
Delilah heard them and glanced at Everett and saw he was talking with Luke about something.
She could not believe how changed Everett was. He was now talking with other people. When she was with him he disliked talking with other people except for his friends. Looked like he had become socialized.
"Who is she?"
Delilah heard a woman. She looked at the woman. The woman was looking at the main door.
"Why is she looking so gorgeous? Did she come to take my king away from me?" The first woman said.
Delilah glanced at the door. Havana entered the palace.
She was wearing a beautiful black gown. We looked very gorgeous as the woman said. She was very beautiful indeed.
Havana smiled when she saw Everett.
"I was busy at a meeting. Sorry for being late." She spoke out loud while grabbing all the attention of the hall.
Everett smiled at her which tugged other women's hearts. Delilah looked at them sadly.
'He may make her his queen since she loves him and she is a high ranked she-wolf, a gamma who will be ready to go to any war with him.'
Delilah thought she did not need to think about Everett anymore because he was no one to her.
Simon told Delilah to go to the other side.
Delilah stood up and walked with Simon.
"Hey! Simon."
A girl stopped Simon. Simon raised his brows.
"Hey, Helena. How are you?"
The girl replied with a shy smile. Delilah understood that the girl liked Simon.
"I am good. Long time no see."
"Yeah I was just busy with pack work and did not get a chance to attend any ball parties."
"I see. Who is this beautiful lady? Your girlfriend?" Helena asked with a lower tone.
Delilah was stunned and waited for Simon to reject in answer.
"Not my girlfriend but she is my very close friend."
"Oh, friend." Helena sighed.
"She is Helena. She is Alpha Livon's daughter. She is from the Moondale pack." Simon introduced Helena to Delilah.
Delilah nodded and said, "Hello."
"Hi." Helena replied with a smile.
Delilah felt she was a third wheel between them. She did not want to be that one. So she excused herself and went towards the bar area where a few people were sitting on the tools.
She sat down and ordered for a non alcoholic something. But the man who served wine told her that there were no non-alcoholic drinks except for water.
"Give her water then."
Delilah heard from behind. She felt dizzy just hearing the voice. It was so deep and sharp.
She did not want to turn to the man who had just come and ordered water on behalf of her.
She felt him coming closer behind her. She could feel his breath in her ear.
"Looks like someone is neglecting the king." He whispered.
She turned to him but gasped. He was so close that his nose just touched her nose when she veered around the seat.
She almost lost her breath. His black shining eyes, fair clean skin, everything was grabbing her attention.
She moved her face and looked at another side. She saw everyone was looking at them with their shocked eyes.
Delilah felt embarrassed. She mumbled,
"Everyone is looking at us, King Everett."
She thought he would move but she was wrong. He did not move a little bit. In fact, he moved closer to her face and his lips almost touched her ear.
"Let them see. Who cares? Do you think the beast cares?"
Delilah's eyes widened. When he called himself a beast, she recalled their past.
He was now a totally new person. His appearance was totally different from how he was before. So she almost forgot about who he was.
Delilah did not speak but only stared at the floor. She was at a loss for words. He moved from her and chuckled at her reaction.
She saw him laughing. He was even more handsome when he smiled.
His bare forehead and short hair gave him a marvelous look that no one could resist.
He put forward his hand towards her. She frowned at his action.
"W-What?"
Everett grabbed her and said,
"Let's dance since the king has to dance first with his woman."
