Chapter 68: Chapter 68
“Who kissed you? Point him right now.”
The night deepened and there was still no electricity. Deafening silence echoed in the boarding house as no one made a noise or speak up after Chaylen gave the dare to Ryan. He sounded so sure about his question, which Ryan could not answer.
“Why can’t you do it?” Chaylen asked in a cold voice.
Action speaks louder than words. It was true because even if Ryan could not say anything, her eyes did the job. She pored to Slyvester, which added to the suspicions of everyone.
Slyvester lowered his head as he couldn’t find the words to say at this moment.
The electricity came back and light enveloped the space. Ryan stood up.
“S-Since the electricity is on, I’ll go back to my room.”
She jolted back to her room, as fast as thunder chasing after lightning.
The six men were left in the living room.
“Did I… process it right?” Segi mumbled. “Someone among you kissed my cousin!” He shouted and pointed to them.
No one replied.
He was about to complain more but as soon as he opened his mouth, someone covered it.
“I thought we are going to follow the rules?” Chaylen said with a chilly voice which stopped Segi from butting in their conversation.
Chaylen stood up and looked at Slyvester.
“What? You won’t defend yourself?”
It’s not been that long since the five of them made the riles. They promised they will fight fairly until Ryan chose one of them. To do that, they cannot have any skinship with her. But if Slyvester really kissed Ryan, he had broken his promise, and that made the four men so mad.
Slyvester took a deep breath. He lifted his head and answered, “I am sorry. I couldn’t stop myself that time.”
Abruptly, Chaylen grabbed Slyvester’s collar and pulled him upward. He raised his fist, shouting, “You…!”
But Terban stood up and held Chaylen’s fist.
“I wanted to punch him too,” Terban said.
Chaylen looked back at him, glaring while catching his breath.
“But I don’t like to be pathetic,” Terban added.
Chaylen shook his hand off.
“Now, I am the villain again,” Chaylen said, turning around. He kicked the plastic bottle on the floor, so hard that the bottle flew away. It hit the glass on the table and the glass broke.
Shattering noise resonated. In fear, Segi covered his ears while watching the scene before his eyes.
“Damn it,” Chaylen uttered before climbing up the stairs.
Next, Kyle climbed up quietly. Vincent perched on the floor without saying anything either. The atmosphere was thinner than paper. To ease the strained mood, Slyvester decided to go out.
As soon as Slyvester left, Vincent spoke to Terban.
“Among us, I expected to see you in berserk, Terban.”
“Shut up,” Terban grunted, and then he also walked out.
Now, there’s only Vincent and Segi in the living room. Vincent looked at Segi and said, “You saw that, right?”
"..."
“If you ever think of telling this to Ryan’s parents, you won’t get out of her alive.”
Segi gulped.
“Be smart, dear cousin.” Vincent gestured his hand, zipping his lips. “You understand?”
Segi quickly nodded his head, and his face turned pale.
The night went on long.

The school festival arrived.
Every department in the University was busy. They created projects to get money during this event. Some do face painting, singing, running a café, and making a horror house, while others took a chance to advertise their clubs to the students who visited the university.
Ryan and Chaylen are in one department. They both ended up helping their classmates to sell fruit smoothies. Ryan was assigned to peel the fruits, while Chaylen was only sitting in the corner. At first glance, it seemed like Chaylen wasn’t doing anything. But actually, he was already attracting customers with his face just by sitting there.
“Chaylen! Show your smile! You were so gloomy,” one of their classmates said, “how can we get customers if you are looking like that?”
At that exact time, two ladies passed on their stand. They were giggling as they whispered, “Did you see that man? He’s hot.”
Chaylen looked nonchalantly at his classmate. “See? I look sexy when I am in a bad mood.” He placed his elbow on the table, put his chin on the back of his hand, and looked away.
Ryan saw everything.
It’s been hours since they met today. But Chaylen was avoiding her, a character far from the Chaylen she knew. He was so distant and cold. There’s nothing she can do about it. He was damn jealous!
And this is the first time Chaylen felt these emotions.
“Ryan, we’re out of stock,” one reported.
“Really? I’ll go and get a tray of fruits. Where can I get it?” Ryan asked, removing her apron and wiping her hands.
“In the storage, star room. Thank you.”
“Okie dokie.”
Ryan went out of the stand.
Then her classmate realized that the job might be too much for a lady like Ryan. “Oh! Wait! Ryan! Gosh, she walked so fast. Hey Jules, can you go and help Ryan? I don’t think she can carry all the stuff.”
“My hands are full,” Jules said, showing the melons that he was peeling. It is hard to find a gentleman nowadays.
“I’ll go,” Chaylen presented. He stood up and followed Ryan.
Chaylen isn’t gentle. But for Ryan, he can be.
Meanwhile, Ryan arrived in the storage room and saw the tray of fruits.
“Damn it. I can’t carry all of these,” she murmured. “But let’s try.”
She grabbed the tray and tried to lift it. The tray lifted from the ground for a short second, then went back to its place.
“It’s heavy,” she complained, wiping the sweat on her forehead.
“Move. I’ll carry it,”, some voice came out of nowhere.
The man stole the tray from her hand without difficulty. His veins were popping on his hands.
If only Ryan doesn’t know who he is, she would find him so sexy while carrying the heavy tray with his veiny arms.
“Stop carrying heavy things. You don’t have balls,” Chaylen teased.
At last, Chaylen was acting in his usual way!
“I can carry that!” Ryan boasted. “But if you want to do it, then go.” She looked away and scratched her nape. There are mosquitoes around the place.
“Well, if you have balls and you cannot have a child for carrying these, I’ll take responsibility. We can go on honeymoon every day if we don’t have kids with us.”
“Shut up! Let’s just go back. Hurry!”
Chuckling, Chaylen stepped forward. While carrying the tray, he tried to pull the door open. But he could not open it.
“Omg!” he gasped. “Ryan! We got locked inside! We have to spend our time in this hot and narrow storage room!”
Rolling her eyes, Ryan asked, “You need to push the door. Not pull it. Stop overreacting.” Then, she pushed the door open.
“You are such a killjoy,” Chaylen protested as they both went out of the storage room. He was pouting his lips.
They were both trying to act naturally with each other. However, from time to time, they recalled the things that happened last night. If they do, they will shut their mouths and say nothing.
Chaylen was carrying heavy stuff, and their destination was still far. The surroundings were quiet. The hallway was almost empty as if the people vanished at that moment. And there were only the two of them walking together.
“I like Slyvester,” Ryan broke the silence with three words.
Chaylen stopped walking as if stepping on a car’s brake.
“I like Slyvester,” Ryan repeated. She stopped walking too and looked back at Chaylen.
Hearing it twice was like slapping his face really hard.
