Chapter 67: Chapter 67
When the surroundings turned all black, Segi shouted. “Ryan! Ahhh!”
“Segi! Stop hugging me! I can’t breathe!” Ryan complained.
“Hey! Why are you hugging Ryan!” Terban said before hitting Segi’s face.
Bam!
A loud thud sound echoed. After a few moments, Terban received a punch in his face.
“Ahh!” Terban winced. “Did you just punch me, Segi?! Where are you?!”
“I didn’t punch you! Idiot!” Segi explained.
“Punching you wasn’t enough,” Vincent murmured. “Just wait until the light turns back. I will repay your hit a million times.”
Chaylen laughed so hard.
“Did Terban accidentally hit Vincent? It’s such a waste that I didn’t see it!”
“Who has his cellphone? Please open your flashlight. I will go and get the candle in the kitchen,” Kyle asked everyone.
“I have mine,” Slyvester said. When he opened the screen of his phone, the light brightened Slyvester’s face, which shocked Segi, because he was standing next to him.
“Ahhh!” Segi screamed.
“Did your cousin graduated from an ‘Over-reacting school?’” Chaylen asked Ryan while shaking off his ears. “He screamed like a dolphin.”
“Can you shut up, brother Segi?” Ryan begged her cousin.
“Slyvester, light me up,” Kyle said in an apathetic voice.
Slyvester opened the flashlight on his phone and went to the kitchen with Kyle. Until now, they were both awkward with each other.
“Why there’s sudden brownout?” Slyvester mumbled, which Kyle did not answer even if he heard it clear.
Slyvester realized how hard it was to reconcile with a friend.
“There’s only one candle here,” Kyle informed everyone.
“Let’s just use that one and stay here in the living room while waiting,” Vincent suggested.
After a while, everyone sat in the living room, encircling the one candle.
Thirty minutes had passed since the electricity went out.
Bored, Slyvester was playing with the melted candle wax. Terban was asking Slyvester to stop because the floor was getting dirty. Vincent was doing shadow play with his hands. Kyle and Ryan were looking at the fire on the candle without saying a thing.
And Chaylen, he was watching everybody.
‘Kyle, Slyvester and Ryan are odd today. As if they had a fight before,’ Chaylen noticed.
“My handsomeness was too much, even the electricity fell in me,” Chaylen joked. Everyone looked at him, and he gave them a smile.
“Can you just shup up?” Terban asked Chaylen.
Vincent shook his head and continued playing with the shadow of his hands on the wall.
Slyvester laughed, while Ryan and Segi looked disgustedly at Chaylen. As for Kyle, he didn’t react.
‘See? Something is wrong with him,’ Chaylen said mentally. And he continued, ‘Did Ryan reject him already?’
Chaylen felt happy if Ryan did reject Kyle. That would only mean that his competitors’ number would be lessened. At the same time, he pitied Kyle.
‘If I put myself in his shoes, I think I cannot endure it too. I am acting that I'm cool with everything, but I'm not.’
This is the first time Chaylen loved a woman, so everything was new to him. He just doesn’t want her to end up with anyone except him. Chaylen never wished to be happy in the past. But this time, he prayed for a happy ending.
“Dude. Why are you still here?” Chaylen asked Segi, who was sitting next to Ryan.
“I can’t walk outside! It’s really dark,” Segi explained.
“Are you afraid of ghost?” Chaylen asked.
“N-No,” Segi stuttered.
“Don’t worry. Ghosts are afraid of handsome men like me,” Chaylen teased.
“Handsome? Or a bastard like you?” Vincent corrected, which Chaylen only laughed off.
“That guy loves ruining the mood, right?” Segi told Chaylen while pointing at Vincent.
Vincent glared at Segi, wihile Ryan and Slyvester nodded their heads to agree.
“Bingo,” Chaylen said with a smirk.
“I can also ruin your face. Do you want to?” Vincent sneered at Segi.
“So, just shut your mouth, brother Segi,” Ryan warned her cousin.
But Segi did not know how to stop. He grabbed a bottle of mineral water from the side. He placed it on the center and said, “Let’s play true or dare.”
“Play alone,” Terban replied.
It was apparent that Segi was asking them to play this game because he wanted to get information from the five men.
“I’ll spin the bottle and if it goes to your side, then that person will have the chance to ask. Ready?” Segi explained.
And although there was no one who wanted to play with him, Segi spun the bottle either way. The bottle’s lips pointed Segi’s side.
“Woah! It’s me!” Segi celebrated. “Okay, next. If the bottle goes to your side, then you’ll receive the question from me.”
He spun the bottle. The people, who pretended that they did not care, nervously watched the bottle slowly pause. Then, it went to Chaylen.
“It’s you!” Segi gasped, pointing at Chaylen.
Chaylen chuckled as he shook his head.
“Okay. Spill it. Ask me anything.”
"Truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"What are your parent’s background?”
Among all questions, Segi asked the most sensitive topic for Chaylen.
Chaylen pulled out his smile and looked away.
“I changed my mind. It’s dare.”
“That’s not fair!” Segi complained. Ryan tried to stop her cousin, but Segi was so dense. “All right! Fine. So, it’s a dare. Then kiss the cheek of the person sitting next to you, there on your left side.”
Kiss? Chaylen looked at his left side. Terban was there, glaring at him.
“Just try to kiss me and I will…”
Terban couldn’t finish his warning because Chaylen leaned closer and kissed his cheek.
The surrounding was dark, but Terban’s reddened face was visible.
“F*CK YOU!” Terban shouted before he grabbed Chaylen’s neck and strangled him.
Chaylen fell on the ground, laughing even though he could not breathe anymore.
Kyle smiled a little. Everyone was laughing, and Chaylen was happy to sacrifice himself just to lessen the tension around the boarding house.
‘But if no one will stop Terban, I think I might really die tonight,’ Chaylen realized.
"H-Help!" Chaylen begged Vincent who was sitting on his right side.
Vincent held Chaylen’s hands, but not to help him, but to pin him down even more!
“Go and kill him,” Vincent said to Terban.
“Hey! He couldn’t breathe anymore!” Slyvester said, laughing while pulling Terban away from Terban.
“They are really like children,” Segi uttered before he spun the bottle again. While they were rolling on the floor, the bottle stopped in front of Ryan.
“Oh, Ryan! It’s your turn!”
The four men stopped what they were doing. Terban helped Chaylen to sit up, so Chaylen could ask Ryan the question.
“Truth or… ugh, dare?” Chaylen asked while coughing.
“Truth,” Ryan answered, fearing to face the same dare Chaylen received from Segi.
The silly Chaylen came up with a random question.
“What is your ideal kiss scenario?” Chaylen asked.
“What kind of question is that?” Segi protested.
But Chaylen continued, “Ryan. Tell us your ideal kiss s…”
Ryan glanced at Slyvester. When Chaylen noticed that he felt the ominous guts. Why would Ryan look at Slyvester at the time he asked the question?
“Can I choose a dare instead?” Ryan changed her answer.
Chaylen shut his mouth. He gritted his teeth before taking a deep breath. Then, he uttered, “Okay. Dare. Who kissed you? Point him right now.”
