Chapter 57: Chapter 57

Third Person’s POV

“Slyvester, are you still mad at me?”

The wind blew. Ryan found it intoxicating that the wind always blows at crucial times. Is this the law of romance? She always sees this scene in the dramas she watched before.

“Sorry,” Slyvester said as he looked away.

There was a stitching pain as Ryan ogled his handsome side profile. If there’s one person who should apologize, Ryan thought it should be her.

“You’re not wrong for asking about Nikki. It was not out of line. I overreacted, and I think I should apologize for being so immature.”

Ryan bit her lower lip. She looked above. There was no moon and stars above.

‘At least there is no always pretty moon and stars in romance,’ Ryan laughed at this inwardly before she parted her lips and responded.

“No. Actually, after some thinking, I realized I was wrong at some part. Sorry, Slyv.”

“Hmmm.”

The two of them walked forward while watching Chaylen chase after Vincent. They weren’t finished yet.

They didn’t talk after that. Walking together, Ryan lowered her head and watched their feet moves forward.

As she did, the back of her hand bumped onto the back of Slyvester’s hand.

She stiffened. The world seemed to stop as soon as their hands bumped accidentally. Ryan raised her hand, scratching her nape. Slyvester opened and closed his hand, feeling so odd to leave it empty. He really wanted to hold her hand.

“We’re here,” Slyvester said.

“What?”

“We arrived.”

Ryan did not notice that they had arrived back home.

‘That was fast,’ she thought.

“You guys walked so slow,” Chaylen said.

They were slow? Ryan doubted that. If she and Slyvester were slow, then why did they arrive fast? Was it the time went fast when she was with Slyvester?

Vincent observed Ryan’s confused face. There was an underlying meaning behind his gaze, which Ryan noticed, and so she asked, “Why?”

With an expressionless face, Vincent just looked away and entered the boarding us.

Ryan and Slyvester followed.

Kyle greeted them, checking the things they had bought. Chaylen was in charge of forcing Terban to come down and join them.

“Sh*t! I told you that I don’t want to drink with you!” Terban, who was caught by Chaylen’s firm and large forearms, complained.

Slyvester helped Chaylen to drag Terban and threw him on the couch. They seemed like catching a criminal in loose.

“We’re going to drink together,” Vincent said to Ryan. “Go inside your room.”

‘But I haven’t eaten my dinner yet,’ Ryan was about to protest. But Kyle approached her and gave her a Styrofoam.

Ryan opened the Styrofoam and found Sushi.

‘I was craving for this!’ she exclaimed internally.

“I did not have time to cook for dinner. Is sushi okay to you?” Kyle asked Ryan while rubbing both of his hands, as if apologizing.

It was never Kyle’s responsibility to cook for Ryan. But as the “mother” of the house, he was really into his role, that he felt bad if he could not cook for everyone.

That was enough for Ryan to see his effort.

“I’m fine with this, geez,” Ryan said. As she covered the food, her eyes went to the can of beers on the center table.

She isn’t fond of drinking. Yet, there are times she likes to drink cold beer. Tomorrow is the start of the weekend and Ryan thought there would be no harm in drinking one.

The stubborn lady tried to steal a can. Bad for her, someone caught her and slapped her hand.

“Ouch!”

“What are you doing?” Terban, the one who slapped her hand, asked in a cold voice. “You can’t drink, Ryan.”

“Just let her be,” the troublemaker Chaylen said before giving Ryan another can.

Sylvester snatched the can from Ryan, disagreeing, “No, no, no. Not beer. I bought this for her.”

He gave her a chocolate drink.

“Ryan can’t drink while she’s living with us. Her parents won’t like it,” the kind Kyle explained.

“Go to your room, Now,” Vincent commanded as he pointed the stairway.

Ryan really felt out of place.

‘Damn it.’

“I don’t have a plan to drink with you, guys. FYI, I’ll drink inside my room, and I will lock my door in case I’ll into something so crazy. You bunch of cheapskates.” She turned around and stomped her feet up to the second floor before she completely disappeared.

It was a good decision to leave her out. She knew that, but still felt a little bit sulky.

“Why did they think of drinking all of a sudden though?”

Ryan laid on her bed, murmuring, “Are they going to talk about how they love me?”

Laughing at her shamelessness, she turned to the side and blinked softly.

“Anyway, I have to tell them that I’ll move out next month.”

** ***

“So, you and Slyvester have the same course?” Chaylen asked Slyvester and Terban.

“We do. Who cares?” Terban answered while sitting next to Slyvester.

Chaylen gave a middle finger to Terban, and Terban did the same thing. Thinking how childish they were, Slyvester laughed while shaking his head.

‘Just why did we have to drink like this together?’ Slyvester wondered as he gulped his beer.

“Do you say ‘hi’ to each other during class?” the red Kyle asked. He has the lowest alcohol tolerance among everyone.

Slyvester quickly responded, “We did not! I greeted him many times, but Terban was ignorant. He saw me like he’s looking on air.”

“Congrats. Being ignored by Terban was a blessing from the might grace,” Vincent commented. He wanted to say that Slyvester should be happy that he wasn’t close with someone like Terban.

“Shut up,” Terban hushed Vincent. “You’re out of the topic. Anyway, I had reasons why I don’t greet Slyvester back.”

“And that is?” Slyvester asked curiously.

“I greeted you before. But you did not say anything. You just turned around and left. That’s why since then, I ignored you. It was your fault.”

“You greeted me?! When? I could not remember!” Slyvester complained.

“Slyvester tended to space out a lot. Maybe he was daydreaming that time,” Kyle, who knew Slyvester the best, commented.

Slyvester pointed Kyle, muttering, “Exactly, bro!” He looked at the sulky Terban and laughed at him. “Don’t tell me you got sulky just because of that?”

“He’s acting like a total anti-social when he hates being ignored. Psycho,” Vincent mumbled and then took a sip.

“Who are you calling Psycho?”

“Time out,” Chaylen demanded. “Don’t start another war after resolving the past misunderstanding. Slyvester and Terban, please hug each other.”

Since Slyvester knew that Terban would get angrier if he hug him, he cuddled Terban while calling him, “Babe~ Let’s reconcile~”

“What the…! Stay away from me! Yuck!” Terban shouted before pushing Slyvester away.

He used too much force that Slyvester fell face flat on the carpet!

“Ouch! Damn it!”

“Why do we need to drink together, by the way?” asked Terban. “I have things to do. So, if you wanted to say something, just say it.”

“We all like Ryan,” Vincent said which stole the spotlight.

Their faces turned rigid as they looked at Vincent and waited for his next words.

“Because of that, she’s avoiding all of us. Did you all confess to her?”

It was weird to talk things about this among men, to be honest. Nonetheless, Ryan has had many issues going on lately.

Her cousin, her parents, and the confusion she suddenly had. They will all agree they need to talk about this. She was their friend to begin with.

“I confessed. I am not coward like you guys,” Terban boasted.

“Who are you calling cowards? I confessed too!” Slyvester said.

“Count me in,” Chaylen shared.

“M-Me either,” said the shy Kyle, and he even added the exact date where he did it. “It’s XX-XX-XX.”

When he told them the day, everyone has their eyes wide open. They all remembered confessing at the same day!

And when they realized that they confessed to Ryan at the same day, Slyvester began to shared, “6:30 am!”

He wanted to gain supremacy over ‘Who confessed first’ game.

“9 am,” Kyle joined the relay.

Terban said, “9:30.”

“10: 30?” Chaylen wasn’t sure of the time so he just guessed.

They all looked at Vincent, who hasn’t given his answer yet.

“5:30 am,” Vincent lied, and they could see it as clear as water.

“Don’t give us a b*llshit. Ryan did not wake up that time,” Chaylen said, laughing.

“You’re the most coward guy among us,” Terban teased.

In spite of fury, Vincent threw a canned beer to Terban. Luckily, Terban dodged the attack.

“Y-You! The canned beer wasn’t empty! Are you going to kill me?!” Terban was about to counter an attack, but Slyvester pulled him back to the seat before this night became a bloodbath.

“Let’s set some rules,” the almost homicide killer suggested. “We need to respect each other while Ryan hasn’t chosen anyone yet,” Vincent added.

Vincent is a selfish guy. He will get what he wants. But for Ryan, he’s ready to set rules. That means he really likes her.

“If she decides to go out with any of us, we have to let her go on a date. However, no skin-ship.”

The four guys looked at Chaylen in unison.

“Lol, guys,” Chaylen said, chuckling. “It’s instinct. Skin ship is part of my routine.”

“Yes, you assh*le,” Vincent agreed.

“Assh*le, that’s very perfect to Chaylen,” Terban agreed to Vincent, which was really rare to happen.

“That was so OFFENDING,” Chaylen said, but while laughing.

“I will follow the condition,” Slyvester agreed.

“There’s no need for me to follow that, but okay. I will,” Terban said.

“Fine, fine. Me too,” Chaylen also added.

“There’s nothing wrong with the condition,” Kyle said while sighing. “But I keep on feeling tempted not to follow it because Ryan would move out of this boarding house next month.”

Then there was a long silence.

Slyvester, Terban, Vincent, and Chaylen stared widely at Kyle.

When Kyle noticed their stare, he realized that he spilled the beans out of nowhere. He gasped, covering his mouth.

“RYAN WILL MOVE OUT?! NEXT MONTH?!” Chaylen shouted.
