Chapter 58: Chapter 58

Terban saw a dinosaur. The predator slumped over him, he kicked it away but it was too heavy. To get away, Terban but the leg of the dinosaur.

“Ahhhh!” the dinosaur growled in pain.

The window of Terban’s eyes flung open. He was wet with sweat as he looked around him. It took him seconds to figure out that everything about the green dinosaur was only a part of his dream. But just like in his dream, he could taste salty flesh in his mouth.

'What's in my mouth?'

His heart pounded while he looked down, and then he caught himself biting Chaylen’s feet, which were leaning on his face.

“G*DD*MNSH*T!” he cursed before pushing Chaylen’s feet. Swiftly, the pale Terban sat up as he covered his infected mouth.

“Hmmmm,” Chaylen groaned, scratching his tummy while sleeping.

Terban’s head was swirling. He was so curious about how much he had drunk last night that he ended up sleeping next to Chaylen in the boarding house’s living room.

Nope. He’s wrong. It’s not only Chaylen.

Vincent was sleeping on the sofa. Slyvester was on the stairs, while Kyle was leaning his head on the center table. Empty canned beers and unfinished snacks were scattered around.

Another faint curse slipped from Terban’s lips before he sniffed himself.

“Ahhh, I smelled like sh*t. This is the reason why I don’t drink.”

Even if his head was throbbing, he forced himself to go to the kitchen and gurgled water. He didn’t want to let the bacteria from Chaylen’s foot stay in his mouth.

While everyone was still sleeping, Terban went up to his room. He was to take a bath as soon as possible. Expected from a clean freak like him.

“Terban.”

His hand on the doorknob halted. Terban looked at the woman who called his name.

“What the hell. This is the first time I saw you in that mess,” laughing, Ryan pointed to his hair.

Although Terban got so drunk last night, he would never forget the information Kyle had shared. Looking at Ryan, he remembered it vividly.

“You are moving next month, right?” question he tossed.

It did not take long before Ryan pulled the smile on her lips and responded in a perturbed tone, “How did you know that?”

Terban felt mixed emotions. He’s sad that he would not be able to see Ryan every day. However, it’s also a good thing that she’d stay away from the other four guys. Among the five, Terban thought he had the upper hand because he’s Ryan’s childhood sweetheart.

“We haven’t gone out yet ever since we met. There’s no class today, so go and wear something decent,” Terban said while observing her current appearance.

Ryan was wearing Pikachu’s printed pajamas. How normal.

“I’ll treat you out,” Terban added, peering back into her eyes.

“You mean, food?”

“That’s given. It’ll be weird if I buy you toys or Pokemon balls.”

“You and your salty comment.”

“I’ll prepare and after that, we’re going out. Okay?”

Terban did not wait for her answer, and he entered his room. Leaning against the door, he fetched a sigh.

“I know that she’s an idiot not to notice that I am asking her for a date.”

Terban was getting impatient as time passed by. If Terban had no plan to date before she’d move out, he would make the first move.

It was so fortunate for Terban that the other four guys were still sleeping when he and Ryan went out of the house.

‘When it comes to food, she’s losing sanity. I am happy that she agreed to come but…’

“Why are you wearing pajamas and a white shirt?” Terban asked while driving.

HE TOLD HER TO WEAR SOMETHING DECENT, DIDN’T HE?!

Ryan did change her clothes but this time, she’s wearing a printed Hello Kitty Pajamas!

“I thought we were going to the convenience store. You said you’ll treat me for food,” Ryan defended while sitting in the passenger seat.

Terban’s temples throbbed even more.

‘I can’t believe I spent a lot of time choosing my outfit for today. And she just came out with that stupid clothes?!’ Terban, who’s wearing blue polo sleeves and white slacks, complained in his head.

He even styled his hair and sprayed cologne. But here’s Ryan, looking like an old lady who’s on her way to market to buy Sale cabbage. She had no make-up, and she only tied her hair up. Where is the balance in their outfits? None.

Right now, Terban looked like a boss who was driving for his maid.

“Why did you think that I’ll take you to the convenience store?” Terban asked, frowning.

“Because…” she let out a long pause, observing Terban, and she continued, “You looked like you won’t spend damn money. You have the rich vibes, but someone who doesn’t spend money too much.”

Terban calmed himself by shutting his lips. If he fails to control himself, then this date will be over.

“So, where are we going to eat?” Ryan inquired.

“There’s a new restaurant at White Plains. Their breakfast Menu is delicious.”

“You tried there before?”

“Yup.”

Ryan nodded her head and then looked outside the window, which caught Terban’s attention.

Physically, Ryan was sitting next to him. One way or another, her mind was somewhere far from his reach.

‘What could it be?’

Terban parked his car. The two of them walked together in the parking lot wordlessly.

‘Maybe, she’s just tired,’ Terban thought before he noticed a woman exiting her car.

She’s wearing white heels and aside from that, Terban saw no reason to keep looking. Not until the woman accidentally bumped into Ryan because she walked out of her car in haste.

“Ouch!” Ryan winced.

Terban glared at the woman, and he complained right away. “Hey! Look out.”

The woman with brown hair, well-maintained skin, an expensive dress, and a luxurious bag and shoes, looked back at the two.

At first glance, anyone could tell she was a big shot.

“Oh my god, I am so sorry,” she apologized. “I didn’t mean to hurt you, Miss.”

Ryan caressed her aching elbow, answering, “Nah. That’s fine.”

She smiled at them, closed the car, and then walked straight to the restaurant. Somehow, Terban could not take his eyes off the woman, and Ryan noticed his gaze.

“I know she’s hella pretty. And you made it so obvious, dude,” Ryan teased, laughing.

Truthfully, Terban did not care about her appearance.

‘She just looks so familiar and I wanted to remember when I saw her first,’ Terban urged himself.

He looked back at Ryan, accusing, “Don’t be jealous.”

The three words grazed the lady’s pride.

“J-Jealous? Me?” Ryan pointed to herself. “Why would I get jealous?”

“Because she’s prettier than you.”

Terban slapped her with the bitter truth.

“How toxic! I swear if I have a chance, I’ll beat you up and…”

“That was obviously technically speaking.”

“What?”

“But ironically, you’re prettier. In my eyes, you are always pretty even if you’re wearing a rag. That’s how love works, idiot.”
