Chapter 55: Chapter 55

Emily laughed so hard as if there would be no tomorrow.

“See? I told you to confess to Aunt and Uncle. Now look, things got worse! Just be thankful that brother Segi won’t live here.”

Emily lays down on Ryan’s bed, chuckling.

“This is my fault,” Ryan said with a sigh.

Her best friend, who dyed her hair bright green, soothed Ryan’s back.

“That’s alright, dude. At least, you get rid of one of your problems. Besides, they didn’t ask you to drop out. That means they still trust you, Ryan.”

“It’s too late to drop out.”

“Exactly. Anyway, what is your plan? Are you going to stay outside the boarding house so that your annoying cousin won’t have anything to report to your parents?”

“I don’t need to do that. I am busy enough, chasing deadlines for school activities.”

“Congratulations on that. But given Segi’s annoying character, I don’t think you can preserve your patience. If he’s irritating you, just go and punch him in the face,” Emily suggested while planking on Ryan’s bed.

“Me? Punching brother Segi? Oh come on. Maybe before I can do that, one of the five guys will beat him first. They are all short-tempered. Except Kyle.”

Kyle? Ryan remembered when Kyle punched someone in the school.

“Forget about Kyle. They are all… short-tempered,”

The two of them both laid down on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

“Aside from that, I am also curious about that thing,” Emily said.

“What thing?”

“Your other problem. Love life problem. Did you decide which one to date?”

Emily giggled excitedly, as she was so into Ryan’s current love life, that only came after a decade. Emily wasn’t a little bit jealous. In fact, she was happy that Spring finally bloomed in her best friend’s life.

“I think I am a bad woman,” Ryan confessed.

Emily reacted with an excessive, “What?! What happened? Did you finally… d-do that?”

“Do what?”

“You know. That… that…”

“What?”

“Giving your virg…”

Ryan shoved her hand right onto her best friend’s dirty mouth, slapping it without remorse.

“You need to cleanse your mind, my dear friend,” Ryan complained, while Emily caressed her swollen lips while laughing.

“I am not like that!” Ryan added.

“I know, I know. Just kidding,” Emily explained before leaning closer. “Continue with your story. So, why did you think that you’re a bad woman?”

Ryan sighed as she looked at her blue ceiling, because not all ceiling in novels was painted in white.

“I experimented seeing them as men,” Ryan muttered. “After I did, my heart fluttered for five guys. Am I bad? Feeling like this over five men,”

“Well, if you know their background, I’ll understand why your heart was beating so fast.”

“Background? What do you mean?”

Emily leaned closer to Ryan. She put her hand on her ear and whispered the information she gathered about the five men so far.

When Ryan heard the information, her eyes widened in shock.

“IS THAT TRUE?!” Ryan shouted, sitting on four legs. If she has a tail, it’ll probably wag in excitement. “I heard that they are rich. But not to that point!”

“Believe me, my friend, my heart of capitalism beat so hard when I learned that my possible brothers-in-law are billionaires. I dreamed of bathing in a bathtub full of dollars.”

The two crazy women looked at each other and laughed so hard.

“Well, this is just a rumor. But no rumor starts from nothing. I mean, just look at their faces. They look gold from head to toe. And you’re the lucky b*tch who succeeded in seducing five conglomerates heir from five prestigious families.”

Ryan looked afar. She thought about the five guys, Terban, Slyvester, Vincent, Kyle, and Chaylen. They seemed rich, especially Terban. Ryan knew Terban when he was young, and Terban worked in his father’s corporation when he had time.

But the other four men?

‘They are so down to Earth. If it is true that those bast*rds, I mean, those men are heirs of conglomerate families, then how come they can communicate with others as if it’s normal?’

Ryan remembered that Chaylen’s family background should be held in secret, so she asked Emily.

“What is Chaylen’s background according to the rumor?”

“Chaylen? The bulkier among the five?”

“Do you have to put that kind of adjective?”

“Of course. I love sexy men,” Emily added before answering the original question. “According to the rumor, Chaylen is a son of an influential man. That’s all. He has the least information among the five, as if it was kept hidden on purpose.”

Ryan sighed in relief. She felt unperturbed to know that Chaylen’s bitter past wasn’t known to many yet.

“Ahhh!” Emily suddenly shouted as if she remembered one more thing. “There’s one more!”

Ryan, who covered her ears, frowned as she put her hand down and glared at her noisy best friend. “Spill it.”

“Sylvester is mysterious too.”

“Slyvester? Why?”

“The rumor said that he’s the son of some wealthy man. Sylvester is the campus’s best friend, because he has wide connections and he has groups of friends in every department and even with our professors. However, they say that he holds the highest value in the market.”

“Which means…?”

“He’s the real deal, girl.”

The man who drooled over cake?

‘Is she saying that Slyvester is the richest among the five?’

“How’s your heart? Is it beating wildly?” Emily teased.

Ryan pressed her chest. With rounded eyes, she nodded her head.

“I think I am a servant of capitalism, Emily.”

“Good job, my disciple. I raised you well,” Emily said, patting Ryan’s head, as if some kind of wicked manipulating stepmother.

Ryan chuckled as she put her hand down and processed all the information she got from Emily.

‘I still could not believe that Sylvester is a son from a conglomerate family.’

He was fun to be with, comfortable to talk to, and sometimes, he acts like a beggar.

‘A rich man who wants to make other people laugh. Isn’t he adorab…’

Ryan stopped when she realized that she was thinking about his feelings one-sidedly. There are five men. Why did she only think of Slyvester?

‘Am I… a potential gold digger?’ She shook her head after asking this dangerous question to herself.
