Chapter 54: Chapter 54

Kyle saw Ryan preparing breakfast in the kitchen.

“You’re cooking for breakfast?” Kyle asked.

Ryan glanced at him and answered, “Yup.”

Kyle noticed that Ryan was acting normal. She was just like the time when she had no idea that there were five men liking her.

‘Well, her parents caught her lying. That probably bugged her so much more than our confessions,’ Kyle said to himself.

“What soup is that?” Kyle asked, pointing at the pot.

Ryan, not a witch, stirred the boiling soup in the large pot. “This is a hangover soup.”

But no one drank alcohol yesterday. Knowing this, Kyle got confused. But he didn’t ask for more.

“Can you taste it? I think it lacks something,” Ryan asked.

“Let me have a taste.”

As Kyle took a spoonful of her soup, Vincent came.

“What are you eating?” Vincent asked. He didn’t wait for their response and he took a taste of the soup too.

“Ahhh! I am so hungry!” Slyvester shouted, hopping like a rabbit towards the kitchen. “Oh? Everyone is here in the kitchen. Let me j… ahhh!”

Terban pushed him aside.

“You were blocking the way, idiot,” Terban complained.

“Hey!” Slyvester protested as he glared at Terban.

Terban only rolled his eyes and walked towards the three people. “What’s wrong?”

“Well, Ryan thought she needed to add more spices to her soup,” Kyle explained.

“Give me! I will judge it!” Slyvester said.

Terban and Slyvester tasted the soup.

“What do you think?” Ryan asked.

“Star anise?” Kyle said, before getting the star anise bottle from the side.

“No. It’s fish sauce,” Vincent uttered.

“What’s wrong with your taste buds, geez!” Slyvester complained. He grabbed the bottle of vinegar and said, “You need vinegar. It needs a sour taste.”

“Are you making a potion?” Terban asked. “Ryan, just listen to me. If you need to make it delicious, then add some onion powder and cinnamon.”

“Cinnamon?” Vincent, Kyle, and Slyvester asked him in unison.

“Have you ever tasted the soup in a 7-star hotel? It has cinnamon,” Terban explained.

“He has the worst palate,” Kyle whispered.

Slyvester and Vincent nodded as if to agree.

Ryan looked at the four men. Her parents said that it would be hard for her to live with them in the same house.

Well, that’s correct.

She’s experiencing it right now.

Ryan’s POV

In front of the table, no one dared to lift his spoon.

They were looking at the boiling soup before them.

“What’s wrong? I put everything you told me to put,” I said.

Gulping, they looked at me with pale faces.

“Ahmmm, I am not hungry, yeah,” Kyle said.

“I wanted to be a nice person today. So, I will let Terban eat it first,” Vincent offered.

“I declined to accept Vincent’s f*cking kindness. Slyvester, you are the beggar among us. What are you doing? Eat.”

“Who said I am a beggar?!” Slyvester complained.

Kyle and Vincent pointed to Terban. And then, Terban waved his hand to Slyvester.

“Damn it,” Slyvester uttered. “I am not a beggar! And why does it have to be me? What if I die eating this disgusting soup? And…”

Slyvester glanced twice at me. Abruptly, he stopped talking. With a forced smile, he explained, “R-Ryan. It’s not like I am saying that your soup is disgusting. But to tell you the truth, it smells AWFUL. I think I need to call my life insurance if I decide to eat this or not.”

Was it that awful?

‘What a waste. I made this for…’

“I came back!” Chaylen shouted.

Speaking of, the devil arrived.

He came inside the boarding house, and he reeked of alcohol.

‘Wait, he came inside?’

Shoot! I forgot that Slyvester and I left him inside the car! I AM SO HAPPY THAT HE IS STILL ALIVE, OR ELSE I’LL BE SENTENCED TO HOMICIDE!

“Chaylen I am sorry! I…” I shouted.

But Chaylen only smiled and waved his hand.

“That’s alright, Ryan. I know that you can’t take me inside the house. So, you opened the window and gave me your blanket. That was so sweet~”

I did that?

I could not remember doing such cheesy things.

Suddenly, Slyvester laughed loudly. “It was me, idiot! Not Ryan!”

“What?” Chaylen asked, quite upset. “I even sniffed the blanket thinking it was Ryan’s but it’s yours?!”

‘What the f*ck! This pervert!’

“Just sit down and eat. Ryan prepared a hangover soup for you,” Slyvester added. He stood up, pushed Chaylen’s shoulders, and gave him a spoon.

I could really tell what Slyvester was planning. But since Chaylen said perverted things out of nowhere, I had no complaints.

“Did you really make soup for me?” Chaylen asked. He didn’t wait for my answer and tasted the soup right away!

After slurping the soup, Chaylen’s face turned red. His eyes misted with tears as he looked back at me.

“R-Ryan. Do y-you really h-hate me t-that much?”

A tear rolled on his cheek.

‘Was it really that bad?’

“Pffft!” The other four guys laughed while seeing Chaylen’s reaction.

"Sh*t. This isn't edible," Chaylen sobbed, wiping his eyes, and then drank water.

“That wasn’t my fault,” I said. “These four guys asked me to put the…”

Ding dong~

All of us looked at the door.

“Who will visit us this early morning?” Chaylen asked while sniffing.

Since I had a guess who it might be, I said, “I got it.”

I dragged my feet towards the door. Before opening it, I took a deep breath. Then…

“Hello, my dearest cousin! Auntie and Uncle asked me to visit you today!” My cousin, Segi, greeted me.

“Who’s that creep?” I heard Chaylen ask.

“Probably, a spy sent by Ryan’s parents,” Vincent guessed the right answer.

“Parents? Ryan’s parents knew everything?” Chaylen asked in a loud voice.

I, together with the five men, looked at the new struggle we must face.

“I smell food. Can I come in and eat?” Segi asked.

Food? I only smell a mess. And Segi is the mess I am talking about.
