Chapter 53: Chapter 53
Ryan’s parents were glaring at the four men sitting next to Ryan – Kyle, Vincent, Terban, and Slyvester, who introduced himself before as Princess Slyvia Patricia Angel Baby.
“We are really sorry,” Slyvester apologized.
Slyvester could not look straight at Ryan’s parents, nor sit properly because of guilt. He only lowered his head. On the other side, Kyle was on the verge of kneeling in front of Ryan’s parents.
“It wasn’t our intention to fool you,” Kyle added.
“All this time, Ryan was living with four men?” Ryan’s father asked, his face was a mess. “THE FOUR OF YOU!”
The apologetic Kyle confessed, “No. There’s still one more guy. We are five men, Sir.”
“FIVE?!” Ryan’s mother and father shouted in unison.
Anxiousness spread on Ryan’s Mom and Dad’s countenance. They were deeply worried about their one and only daughter, who lived with grown-up men under the same roof. But what to do? It happened already.
Ryan’s mom inhaled sharply as she looked at Kyle.
“You are Kylie, right?” she asked.
Kylie, no, Kyle, couldn’t answer the question. He didn’t expect them to recognize him despite her thick disguise that day. Or maybe, he’s just an idiot for thinking that his disguise was perfect.
She looked at Slyvester and inquired, “And you are Slyvia?”
Slyvester corrected, “Yes. It is Princess Slyvia Patricia Angel Baby.”
Vincent, Kyle, Terban, and Ryan looked at Slyvester. They were more shocked that Slyvester precisely remembered the long name he invented a long time ago.
Next, Ryan’s mother pointed to Terban, “And you are Slyvia’s boyfriend.”
Calm and at ease, Terban smiled at them, “Hello, Aunt and Uncle. I am Ryan’s childhood friend, Terban.”
Aunt and Uncle?! The three men glared at Terban, while Ryan blushed.
At last, her parents looked at Vincent, whom they saw for the first time.
Vincent noticed the gaze, so he introduced himself. “Nice to meet you. I am Vincent.”
After the brief introduction, it was Ryan’s turn to appease her parents’ anger.
“Mom, Dad,” Ryan uttered. “I force them to help me hide the truth. Can we… fix this by ourselves?”
The four men were allowed to go, and they left Ryan alone with her parents in the living room.
“I am really sorry, Mom and Dad. I lied,” Ryan apologized, and her face gave away. She was really remorseful.
“Why did you keep this?” Her mom asked.
“You would not agree with this setup, that’s what I thought. I was wrong, and I am feeling remorseful that I hid this away from you. But believe me, it wasn’t intentional. There was a misunderstanding on the management’s part, and that’s why I ended up living together with five men.”
“Ryan. We’re not being judgmental, but practical. Living with five men? That’s dangerous. Especially in your case. You are so sweet and innocent.”
Sweet and innocent? Ryan doubted that.
“Why are you so desperate to study at that university?” her Father asked.
Ryan’s eyes floored. She took a deep breath before confessing, “I was looking for my childhood friend. Remember the boy I kept on blabbering about when I was young?”
Her parents looked at each other. They did remember the day Ryan had nothing to do but boast about her guy friend.
“We met each other again,” Ryan said. “Here in the university where we promised to meet.”
While Ryan was telling the story, the four men were staring at them from the railing on the second floor.
“I hope they will not roast Ryan so much,” Kyle sighed.
“Why won’t they? She was wrong,” Vincent said.
“Hey! You should have taken Ryan’s side,” Kyle persuaded Vincent.
As honest as he can be, Vincent uttered, “What’s wrong is wrong. She put herself in that situation. There was no one to blame but herself. Oh, I guess the management too. But that doesn’t mean I hate what happened. If the management didn’t make a mistake, we won’t meet Ryan.”
Kyle nodded his head, and then his eyes widened at Vincent. “This is the longest statement you said so far.”
Although Vincent looked calm and nonchalant, he was actually worried for Ryan. And he really cares for her.
On the other side, the quiet Terban noticed that Slyvester was looking at him. He met his gaze, wondering what Slyvester was up to. Seconds after, Slyvester looked away, acting that nothing had happened.
‘Why is he looking at me like that?’ Terban wondered.
After a while, Ryan’s parents stood up. Before they left, they looked at the four men up above.
Terban quickly grabbed his phone and acted like he was talking to someone. Vincent put earphones on his ears. Kyle looked at his wristwatch, while Slyvester whistled as he looked afar.
Then, Ryan’s parents left.
As they went, the four men stared at Ryan. They saw her sighing as she climbed up the stairway.
“What happened? What did they say?” Terban asked Ryan.
Ryan didn’t answer. She only smiled, then passed them and went inside her room.
Even if she didn’t say a thing, they all knew that the conversation didn’t end up well. While Slyvester was staring at the door of her room, he remembered something so important.
“Oh, sh*t!” Slyvester gasped.
“W-What? Why?” Kyle asked worriedly.
Slyvester didn’t respond and he just ran outside the boarding house.
“What’s wrong with him?” Kyle mumbled.
Vincent silently watched Slyvester, but Terban narrowed his eyes toward the guy who walked out.
Just where did Slyvester go?
“A lot of things happened, but look at you, still sleeping. Do you think I’ll bring you back to your room? No way. I did my part. Just go inside on your own,” Slyvester said while staring at Chaylen, who was still sleeping inside his car.
Slyvester was about to leave him but…
“He needs oxygen, right?”
Slyvester opened the door and slightly pulled the window down. He closed the door again and eyed Chaylen.
“But if I leave the window open, he will get sick.”
The night ended, and morning came.
Chaylen woke up, and his forehead throbbed so much.
“Ahhh,” he groaned.
Chaylen felt dizzy, and more than that, his body was sore so much. Just what did happen last night? He felt like he was hit by a bulldozer.
“Where am I?”
He slightly opened his eyes. Finding himself in the backseat of the car, he sat up. The blanket slightly fell.
“The car was parked at the boarding house garage,” he uttered. “Last night, I had a drink with Ryan. Then…”
His lips stretched widely. He hugged the blanket and sniffed the scent of it.
Chaylen really thought that Ryan couldn’t take him inside the boarding house, and she left him inside with her blanket. The window was open too.
“She really cares for me,” he mumbled, hugging the blanket. “And she even gave me her blanket. No wonder it smells so sweet. Ahhh, it smells like strawberry. Is it her shampoo?”
He was so happy while imagining a sweet lady who took care of him last night. It didn’t last long as Chaylen saw a glimpse of his forehead through the front mirror of the car.
“W-What is that?”
He tucked forward and looked at his forehead in the mirror. He has two bumps on his head!
“WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE?!”
Now, he understood why his head was throbbing.
