-To Blush is an Expression-

I was walking back and forth for how many times now on our floor lobby. I am not really in my usual self lately. I felt, a little excited, confused and all mixed emotions around after Kalel had kissed me on my cheeks.

His lips damping on my skin, made all my emotions rose to the highest level. I felt really hot and is about to go on smoke. What hit me so hard is the way he smiled after kissing my cheek as if nothing had happened.

I had stopped in the middle of spacing out on the corridor and had to held my heart. Shit! I could still hear and feel it beating so fast. I tried to ignored it a couple times now, but I couldn’t make myself do so. It felt like Kalel was stuck head

“Almira, could you please stop what you were doing right now. You are walking on the same spot for an hour now. I’m the one getting dizzy just by looking at you.” Rhea said while she had curves on her forehead observing me for a long time now.

“Shh, Rhea you’re really disturbing me right now.” I stopped for a bit and looked at her with ferociously.

“Okay fine, I won’t de disturbing you, whatever things you were thinking right now. But please, could you just sit down if you were thinking. If others would see you like that they might think you’re really out of your mind.” Her friend rolled her eyes towards her. She could sometimes think if Rhea was really her friend from the way how negative she’ve sounded everytime.

I stopped in the middle of nowhere and run towards where Rhea is sitting. I looked at her closely. It was lunch break at that time, no one is around except me and Rhea who only eats inside the campus. Our classmates usually dine outside and would be usually be back 5 minutes before or first class in the afternoon.

I immediately grabbed her hand and almost made a prayer with it. I firmly held it as I was about to explain her the things that had been bothering me for quite some time now.

“Are you now becoming a tomboy? Don’t you even dare Almira. I would really punch you to death.” She exclaimed in confusion. I had to hit her head.

“Are you insane? Why would I be a tomboy now? Are you even thinking?” I said. “Even if you would be the last and only girl on the planet. I would still choose to be a woman.” She jokingly said.

“So why were you staring at me like you were about to kiss me then?”

“Rhea.”

“There you are again with that sweet look.”

“Could you just stop squealing and listen. And I don’t have a crush on you, okay. Look at your hair, when was the last time that you did put a shampoo on it.”

“Ouch, that really hurts. I know, you don’t need to remind me of that. By the way, what were you really trying to say?”

I firmly held her hand and then took a deep breath before saying anything.

“Sis, Did it came to your mind that Kalel might fall in love with me?” she seriously asked.

Rhea was quick enough to raise her brows and looked at her intently. She is really silently looking at me and examined me from head to toe. Rhea won’t even dare to blink. Then out of nowhere, Rhea suddenly burst into a huge laugh. It is so loud that its echoing through the corridor.

“Are you crazy? Kalel would fall in love with you? I think you’re just hungry, sis.”

“I’m not hungry okay? And could you please stop laughing at me. I was just asking to make sure.” She implied.

“But still, your question was really funny. I was expecting of something really important. And besides, of all the pretty girls on our campus, why would a popular campus hunk like Kalel fall in love with you. Just think of the logic sis, it’s very impossible. You might be praying ten times a day to make it happen.

“Are you saying I don’t have a chance?”

“I’m saying, you are not his type, sis. No offense, were friends but it doesn’t mean I will be supporting you all the time. But friend, all your rivals are just so pretty and popular. They are also sexy and flawless. Now look at this.” I almost jumped out of the chair when I saw my reflection on the mirror.

“See, you were even frightened by your own reflection.”

“Okay, that question was a trash. Let’s just forget it.” She shrugged it off on her head.

“But I have something that would make you a little bit happy.” Her friend smiled widely.

“Did you know that Kalel was outside staring at you while you are dong your project report.”

“I’m gonna twist your neck if it wasn’t true.” I excitedly said while gripping Rhea’s hand tightly. ”Thank you so much that you’ve mentioned this one, it made my day a little better. I thought nothing would happen between Kalel and me today.” I said with little sparkles in my eyes.

“Almira, there you go you’re overreacting again. Kalel just stared at you for a few seconds and it made your day already?” her friend implied while shaking her head.

I just smiled in delight and happiness. I just wanted to savor this moment for a while. Because for after such a long time of crushing him so badly, I had finally gotten a chance to get close to him and talk to him. Kalel, had made the first move of talking to me and kissing me. And my heart couldn’t stop beating abnormally by the thought of how quick and sudden things have turn.

“Hi Almira.” I almost jumped out of my chair in surprise. I quickly turn and faces where the voice came from. Its Kalel. I didn’t know if he was standing there for such a long time but my chest started to vapor. Rhea on the other hand, immediately walked away like she already knew that it’s her que.

“Uh-ahm, d-did you just arrived?” I nervously asked.

“I just came about a few minutes ago.” He then smiled. He looked at me intently then proceeds on unbuttoning his uniform in front of me. My eyes widened as each button started to unravel, my cheeks became red and hot and my heart couldn’t stop beating so fast.

“Is this what I think it is?” I silently said to myself. I cautiously looked around trying to check if anyone is around, but fuck we are the only people inside. My heart is now thumping so hard.

Kalel looked at me intently while unbuttoning the last button of his shirt. Her eyes were full of emotions, it’s creamy and melting. His intent and sticky stares towards my face then to my lips made me giggle inside. I gulped when he finally took off his shirt, his body is so masculine. There were a few freckles of hair on his chest but it’s so damn hot- and it’s dripping in sweat.

“I heard what you’ve said a while ago.” He seriously said.

“W-what did I just say? I mean, I haven’t said anything.” I really hope and pray that I’m a very good liar. I’m now trembling on my knees of what I would answer or do next if he keeps on asking me questions.

I quickly close my eyes, trying to regain strength. Then had to stare away to keep the temptation away from me shrugged off my head.

“Uh, a-actually Rhea and I just talked about the plans and activities that would be happening during the sports fest. A-and since you were on the badminton team, he had mentioned you.” I cheekily smiled. I pretended to organize my things on the desk while trying to ignore him. He still has no shirt and his body is like inviting me to do a sin.

“Why were you looking away? Are you okay?”

“Y-yeah, I am. I think something just stuck on my eyes.” Before I could finish my sentence, he is already behind me. His body brushes in my back, and it almost made my skin electrocuted.

“I-it’s okay, I’ll just rub it off later.” I insisted while staring away into the complete emptiness. My heart couldn’t stop doing abnormal stuffs.

“Come here, let me do it for you.” He then grabs my hand and lets me face him. But as I was about to turn and face him, I had lost my balance and is about to fall hardly on the floor. I closed my eyes and waited for the pain to creep on my body.

To my surprise, I landed on Kalel’s body. I saw him looking at me closely. I tried to move and get up on my feet but his hands were wrapping tightly on my waist. My hands were touching his chest and I could feel how his heart was beating so fast. His body is radiating heat that’s making my inner piece boils. And when he spoke his voice were so calm and husky. I could feel his breath against my face, and his scent is creeping through my body. I felt stiff and the only thing left moving was my heart whose been beating abnormally for the whole time.

“Looking at you closely now, you were not ugly at all.” He examined my face as if he was investigating a crime. I started to blush.

“Even with your glasses on, I could say that you look prettier with or without it.” He then touches my face and clears the few strands of hair visibly clinging around.

I felt hypnotic while his eyes were staring at me this close. His sudden breath that is touching my face brought shivers to my spine. He then held my face and slowly brought it closer to his lips. My eyes unconsciously close on its own waiting for the moment where our lips were glued together.

“Almira, do you like me?” the question shook me. I wasn’t expecting that at this moment. I wanted to give him an answer right now. But I’m afraid it would change everything, it would twist this moment. I was afraid to tell him, because deep inside I am afraid that I wouldn’t like his answer.
